ive watched some vids from her recent south american festival shows and she really does own that fucking stage! i remember seeing her on EH tour at a small club– to see her now commanding those huge crowds is pretty incredible.

setlist is fantastic– stage design gorgeous too!– and i regret not going to the nashville show last night...still, saw her on melodrama tour so can't really complain but i would have LOVED to hear oceanic feeling live.

ugh yes absolutely true, so hard to try and rec somewhere to start w JN bc EVERYTHING is just so excellent. partly i guess i feel like divers ties together so much of what came before (particularly Ys sound + HOOM sound) which is a good intro but also yes, the album would sound diff if you came to it knowing her previous projects. don't think we're getting new joanna record this year BUT a girl can dream for 2023?

i'd recommend her most recent, actually (divers)...have one on me might be my favorite but i think divers is in some ways more accessible. Ys is a fan favorite and if lush orchestration and long ass songs are are your thing delivers in spades. if you love tori bjork and kate then YES joanna is just waiting for you to fall in love!

what to y'all think of setlists so far on this tour? less variation than usual for sure but i LOVE the older songs she's been including (seems like caught a lite sneeze is permanent) and that she's opening with juarez. would love to hear any of these older songs (all on recent setlists): liquid diamonds, mother revolution, butterfly, little amsterdam, give, twinkle, horses, take to the sky, baker baker. the wrong band is my dream song to hear live but i don't think it shows up on her sets much...a girl can dream tho and with tori there's always hope!
