Don't you know who you're dealing with?
-
Is there any way I could get this from you? I, like a few others, have edited versions that are not gapless and I need the gapless version to make CDs.

Girl live it up, you are still so young You'll look back when you are 24 and say "why didn't I do do things when I was 20 - I'm too old now", rinse and repeat with 26, 30, etc.

'Big Eyes' and 'I Can Fly' Released, Featured in Tim Burton's 'Big Eyes'
Anthem replied to GangstaBoy's topic in New Releases
@@Electric Body you literally have described these songs and how I feel about them exactly. The only thing I would add is that I like that she finally is writing from a strong female's perspective instead of a victim. Even if it is from a character's point of view and not hers, its still a start and I hope it'll inspire her to go more down that road hopefully with better songs. EDIT: And if she wins an Oscar you can rest knowing you wrote an Oscar-winning chorus in 20 seconds on this thread on page 3. -
[VOTE] Lana Ultimate Song Ranking 2014
Anthem replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Lana Thoughts
No Off to the Races for "Best Lyrics" No Angels Forever for "Best Production" No Summer Wine for "Best Cover" No Ride for "Most Overrated" Do you guys pick the Grammy noms too? Just kidding but really some of these noms are weird. How is MDM polarizing or BJ romantic? Oh well gonna vote later after I've sat on the 20 songs. -
Glad I got my presale tickets, hello covered pavillion with assigned seats. Last time we got there and kind of winged it and ended up with decent seats because some people left their seats to get into the pit (didn't need a wristband at that venue) but it was stressful and we had a pole in front of us so I kind of had to lean. I have a pretty awesome ticket to this upcoming one too, almost in the middle, and the seats 6 rows down were 2.5x as much so I think I got a good deal. I'm glad I was on LBs and heard about the TM app and didn't give up on presale day. I wish I had known about the app when I was trying right at 10am though. :/ Next time! Us going to ATL need to meet up and party before/after. I already know what I'm going to wear - white rose sweater, shorts, and red high tops.

Probably my favorite part about these songs. I hope her new record will include more songs where the female is strong.
-
Scab and Plaster (Demo V) by Marina and the Diamonds + TFJ and Froot. I'm starting to love Marina just as much as Lana.
-
Sinatra of a gangster variety
-
.... good one! But no. Do you own tickets to one of Lana's upcoming concerts?
-
I'm hoping he meant album.

I remember I walked by where people were waiting and thought she wouldn't come out and the people I was with were tired so we just moved on. Oh well, maybe one day she will do a smaller venue again (probably not) or we'll get lucky and she'll stay after for this one since she likes her fans. I can dream. And I don't know about you guys but last time I just refreshed for the 5 minutes before and I bought tickets at both the presale and sale and it was no problem. If you prepare you should be fine as far as getting tickets. Have your card ready, make an account on the site, etc.

I'm almost 100% sure I'm just going to get a VIP seat and watch from afar but not too far. I watched from the lower balcony last time and it was still an amazing night. I really want to try the pit one day so I can see her up close but I'm probably going to drag my boyfriend with me and I doubt he'd put up with having to do all of that, especially if the crowd is rowdy. Also I'm super short so if I end up more than a few rows back I'm probably not going to see/hear anything and at that point the pushing and rudeness isn't worth it. Do you guys think at these larger venues that she will stay after the show and sign stuff/talk to fans like the did last time? (@ , do you know anything specific about the ATL venue?) I wish so badly I would have waited to see her in May because the videos I saw seemed like it was so much calmer. All I want is to meet her/take a picture and talk for like the 5 seconds it'll take her to sign something.

'Big Eyes' and 'I Can Fly' Released, Featured in Tim Burton's 'Big Eyes'

Proven wrong, unfortunately. I feel bad because I feel like I've complained a lot, but yeah the song is underwhelming. I was hoping for something with more grandeur but they said the song fits the movie perfectly and that is what matters. Maybe I'll feel differently when I can have it super loud in my car and really hear all the little parts. -

I really hope they were just trying to not give too much away. I love Lana and I already love this song, but I'm so over these repetitive choruses. I guess it works sonically but I just feel that with the urgency the song creates with the instrumental that its going to be underwhelming if the chorus is just her repeating the same line over and over, especially with amazing versus. -

After listening to it a few times I'm doubting that "With your big eyes/and your big lies" is the entire chorus. They are going for an Oscar, it has to just be a few lines from a bigger chorus. And all of us who whined about her being dead and boring for the past few months know why - she's been actually busy making magic and setting up a tour rather than being lazy. -

I love the new snippet! Its going to be such a good song. How did someone on YouTube have the titles to these tracks 3-5 months ago? They tried to "leak" them but the audio was removed/one of them wasn't the actual song, but there is definitely someone on YouTube who posted about Big Eyes and I Can Fly months ago. It doesn't matter but I just think its interesting. -
I used to listen to WG all the time and it almost immediately jumped out at me. I think its cool that she references it.

"Was I wrong to go on like a little fool? It's amazing what women in love will do" Sounds like Lana has been back on a Wicked Game kick. "Strange what desire will make foolish people do" This song sounds amazing though tbh. I like the lyrics so far but the melody and production... this is one I'm gonna have on repeat for months.

So I saw this on some forum while looking up info on the box set for Froot So with this information, it looks like "Happy" will be out on 12/12, and either "Immortal" or "I'm a Ruin" will be out on 1/1/15, and whichever doesn't come out in January will come out on 2/2/15.

Because she never said anything that implied the 211 songs were all unreleased or previously unheard-of. She just said 211 songs, and I don't think it is impossible or even improbable that she kept AKA on her computer along with every other song she had recorded up to that point. Besides, I feel like as far as Lana is concerned, AKA is/was unreleased anyways since she doesn't ever mention it or acknowledge it exists, and besides a brief stint on iTunes and a few physical copies, the album really never was given to the public. As far as the instrumentals, I actually did take them out in that 199 number I got so I messed up in saying they were there. I agree that they don't make sense to have been on her computer although I wonder where they came from if not the same place the songs themselves came from (the hack)? Why? Why would she not have her own songs on her own computer? What does the source of the leak have to do with whether they were hacked in 2011 or not? I (obviously) agree, especially with the last sentence. Again guys, I am not saying you all are wrong or anything but I just want some solid explanations for why you feel the way you do or why you think something I have said doesn't make sense. I don't know anything about hacks or hackers so I could just not be realistic about how these things work. Are hackers sophisticated enough to just take what wasn't already leaked/released or do they just take everything they can get despite whether they have it already or not? Or is Lana making up the number 211. I don't actually think she is this time but this is Lana so..

I would love to hear what you do believe in then. Not in an attacking way at all, I am just curious. I do believe in what I posted, but it really is just a theory. I thought I'd try and flesh out to give it at least some credibility and I personally think its plausible. I'd really like to see (from anyone) different theories and, more importantly, evidence to back them up. I'm open to being proven wrong!

Okay, so I put all of the songs I suspect she had in mid-2011 or so in a playlist. I included unreleased songs, AKA, its demos, Sirens, other May Jailer material, and all of the Born to Die demos since at least a few of them should have existed by then. I included all unreleased demos and instrumentals. I took out anything that occurred in 2012 or later (so Ridin', Summer Wine, etc.) as well as any live performances. I got 199 songs. Give or take some of the BTD demos (some could have been made after the hack) and taking into consideration the 25 or so songs we know exist but don't have, we are at least in the ballpark of 211 so Lana wasn't just making a random number up. Assuming some of the titles we have came after 2011, that might bring it down even closer to 211. But there might also be songs we don;t even have the title to that were hacked, so that should be accounted for also. 211 might not be the exact number, but it is close, and I think we can put to rest any ideas that there are still 100+ unreleased songs floating around.

I agree with this and I don't know why no one has even addressed this post. She said all 211 songs, not 211 unreleased songs. I would include in these 211 songs everything from AKA, Sirens, and even probably BTD as it was technically unreleased at the time so she would have been equally as bummed for those songs to get stolen in 2011.
