To be honest, except for any new songs recorded since Paradise or so, I would expect every unleaked song at this point to be a laptop demo or relatively LQ. I really feel like if there were any amazing, fully produced, clear vocal songs left of the original hack, they would be out by now. Every new leak from the original hack for a good while now has been rough demos.
  4. I'm not a fan of this thread, I think its creepy tbh. Who Lana dates is up to her and if she isn't with someone its because it was better for her.
  5. Discogs has a picture of the BB remix EP up if anyone is curious as to how it looks:
  6. I love Kahne because I love AKA but I still would rather her work with someone she never worked with before. She needs to move forward not backward.
  7. Maybe not the chorus itself, but that little bridge-y bit where she says "black beauty, black beauty baby" ten times after saying it twice on the chorus already almost kills the entire song for me. I've said it before - I completely objectively realize that song is beautiful, but there's something off about it for my taste. I knew I was going to get shit for mentioning that song
  8. I was typing up a much different response to this when I realized that in the context of her other songs I would agree. I wish I could articulate how the repetitiveness of the choruses on UV are just so tiresome though. Summertime Sadness, Raise Me Up, Gramma, and honestly most of Lana Del Ray has extremely repetitive choruses but for some reason its just not as grating as Sad Girl or Black Beauty. Even Angels Forever and Hollywood aren't that bad with their choruses. Maybe it is the sonic aspect or because the versus in those songs are so much better than most of UVs? I don't know.

Yeah she said in her FAQ that "hell no" there wasn't going to be any "dance songs". I feel like between Froot as the first song and the snippets she chooses for each new song she has been very misleading. Its fine because it keeps the surprise but idk, I'm starting to think Froot set the bar higher than what the album is going to deliver. I guess we'll see. I do love IAR. Froot > IAR > Immortal > Happy
  10. Tangent, but why can't everyone on LB respond this way whenever they are talking to someone they disagree with, regardless of the subject. Really people, take note here because this is how you have intelligent debates and not flaming teenage drama that adds nothing to the discussion. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean you can't be friends with someone or be respectful of them. Okay off the soap box, sorry.

    MARINA (and The Diamonds)

@@SitarHero apparently someone directly asked Marina about the "time is on my side" aka "Rush" song and she confirmed it will be released sooner or later. I know you really liked it so thought I'd share Its a shame that is leaked, I actually didn't mind waiting. But it's here and honestly so lovely, I really like the intro and the chorus melody is so catchy to me. I'm so excited for the video now!
  12. I don't think that's too fair - more like a step sideways from BTD/P, which I don't consider backwards from UV. Lyrically, its a little worn down because we have the sugar-daddy theme but the chorus has at least improved from "I'm a sad girl"x6. I think the production and just atmosphere of the song is spot on though, it really gives me the same vibe I've been feeling for the new album, but she could still surprise us. Its definitely no Video Games, or any other single from BTD, as far a replay value, but I think its pretty nice and I like it better than BE and ICF.
  13. I love it! I thought it was ft. Lana not a purely Lana song. I hope this is the direction she is moving towards!

I hope you are right except that the leaks are more very very late March or preferably early April (i.e. not at all) :/

Apparantly copies of the album are getting out. Buzzfeed claims to have one. I doubt it'll make it to the release date before being leaked, and that makes me sad.
  16. Lana and Marina at the same place. Why do I live in stupid Georgia instead of NY..
  17. I think she'd rock Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. I don't think she'd actually do it though because I don't think it lines with her image.
  18. I've recently beeing thinking about DP and its really not as horrible as people say. I thought about writing an entire long post about how I interpret the lyrics but I've just been too lazy to make it happen.
  19. Wait, just wondering, are you talking about the Yayo on Paradise, AKA, or both? Because I hate the Paradise one but the AKA one is literally my favorite Lana song period. If it's both then I just don't know.
  20. I agree except I could see Florida Kilos being put between Brooklyn Baby and WC on the original album and maybe fit there. GnR would be fine if it weren't for the chorus. Tbh I could see it being a closer as well (it gives me end-credit-of-a-movie vibes). Its almost as though she found happiness in reminiscing about a past relationship rather than being still in that state of confusion shes in with Flipside, so it feels more like closure imo. Edit: and now I've convinced myself GnR is the perfect closure assuming Honeymoon is a happier album. But this is the unpopular opinion thread so for your bravery but really wtf
  21. I won't even take a stab at what I'm thinking visually because I get weird connotations from Honeymoon and a lot of that is dependent on the music. Lyrically, I hope she gets her choruses worked out and better than the ones on UV. I'd love if she made some songs that aren't about relationships but an album title of Honeymoon doesn't sound promising and I should know better after listening to her for so long. Maybe we will get something like National Anthem where she is talking about a relationship but also kind of alludes to a bigger picture (i.e. I feel like in NA she was talking about some of the dark sides of fame/money with the drugs/dying lines, etc.). I wouldn't hold out for it to be Ultraviolence: Honeymoon either. She clearly seems to have moved on from UV and if the music isn't even going to sound the same it wouldn't fit anyways. I think this album is going to pick up where Paradise left off, leaving UV as singular in her discography in terms of style/production. Or if she does try and link it to Ultraviolence I hope it is something like National Anthem meets Flipside in terms of the strings + guitars.
  22. I don't know, I think you are/were overreacting a bit. I went back and re-read and there was plenty of speculation on how Mark being a producer would affect the sound/would the hip hop beats come back, how we hoped she had moved on to a different place lyrically, and even some people talking about how they hoped she'd find her vocals. There was some talk of image, but no more than any of the other parts of the album and even the people talking about it knew it was a little silly. You kind of made it sound like this thread was pages and pages about her clothes/hair/makeup and it really isn't. Most people care about the musical content of the songs; if they didn't they wouldn't be here because if we cared about "the package" alone we all would have left when UV didn't pan out. It's also not really fair because we don't have any lyrics to dissect and we can't talk about the cultural impact because there is nothing to talk about. Sure, you could with BTD because it was already out when the forum was made. I think the deep-thought stuff will come when the album gets here, because that is what happened with UV and I'm assuming Paradise (I wasn't on here when it was released). But to criticize people for not being analytical about an album that we only know the title and two song titles to is probably a little much. That leaves us with just being able to speculate about things and I don't think it's wrong to talk about what we hope the album will sound like (or what we don' want) or any of that. Sorry, please don't take it personally, I doubt you meant anything rude to anyone and did make some good points that might be applicable elsewhere, but you came across to me as slightly condescending to the people posting here and I just didn't think it was fair.
  23. Oh so until I started doing extensive reseach on AKA for my flop project I was 100% sure Kill Kill went: Tell me about banging his girl No clue what I thought the line after that was.
