Yeah I get that too, but I feel like until it's all out people will continue to hoard and trade. On another note, I really wish Allie would support her older material rather than trying to hide it, because it is so so great. It would be much less stressful for her I would imagine if she would just embrace her past.

I see no lie, but they are EXCELLENT

I really want a CXII announcement ugh. Hopefully it's coming really soon. OHDH is like SOTY material, so I need her to not leave me hanging like this

In the meantime though, I'm enjoying the rest of her music SO MUCH. Every era of music is so good. Wish we had more studio versions of ALX songs, especially "Homebound". That's definitely one of my favorite songs by her. I don't think I've ever obsessed over an artists unreleased/unleaked material like I have Allie's. She just doesn't have a bad song, so I guess I just have high expectations for everything.

Okay like, can we discuss Ladies and Gentlemen now? it is so good. soooooooo good.

"Walking Sideways" is so beautiful. So is "My Leo". Her ballads are just excellent. Even though we've had it for a while, "Elevator" still blows me away. It's a perfect opener. "Gorilla Sounds" is probably the worst, which is nice since we've had the worst song the longest so I've basically come to like it with so much time. "Something Isn't Right" <<<<<<<<<<< "Damaged Nail", but it's still okay. The mixing is just a bit wonky. Overall I can't stop listening to the album and it's just so so so so great.

Nope. She really can't. At least from what I've heard so far. Everything is so so so good. I really wish Allie would embrace her older material, it's all just great.

Let's chill with the leak drama- theres been 2+ pages of it, and actually appreciate and discuss the music we got today/yesterday

Elijah, Aurora, and OChad, all snatch every hair follicle left on my scalp. Can she make a bad song?

i agree with atom heart allie is all around just a better artist than troye imo

I feel like Allie is on a different level lyrically and in her production. Troye could never get a song like Catch (or even Prime/Tumor).

    @@National Anthem

Turns out that Homebound was scrobbled some time in 2012, that basically confirms the title and that she once had a download up for it on either the ALX bandcamp or soundcloud.

    This is really unnecessary .......

Anyways I respect that she makes completely different music now and basically is a different person as Allie X than Allie Hughes. But I still think she should keep her old music up and not rid the internet of it completely!!!! Its nice to see the artistic growth. I'm sure those old two albums will find their way online someday as someone else said. Ugh I'm just so obsessed with Allie I wanna know so much more about her and hear so much more of her music!!!! Why does she have -4 interviews. omgitsandrew u better get one w/ her

Of course she does, she's amazing. But why does she want us to forget her old treasures? Her older works are better than absolutely any song on any radio today. And even last year, or the year before.

Allie Hughes then rocked out with her band. Like Kulak, Hughes also played the piano while singing her own original songs. She is also a trained musical theatre actor, having graduated from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. As a performer, she is infused with tons of energy, which makes her fun and captivating to watch. At one point, she stood up and started to dance- as much as her piano playing would allow. She has no pretense. She doesn’t try to be anyone except the artist that she is. And while that is extremely refreshing to see, it is also very clear that Allie Hughes is a strong enough performer that she doesn’t need to pretend to be anyone beyond Allie Hughes to bring the house down. She sang six songs from her debut album: “Elevator,” “Black Cloud,” “How ‘Bout Cha Go Away,” “Irish Colcannon,” “Gorilla Sounds,” and “Cabaret Song,” and one newer song dedicated to a friend who was in the audience. She was forced at the end of the night to give an impromptu encore when the audience refused to stop applauding or to leave. It was truly an awesome moment.

Hughes’ music has been compared to Sarah Slean and Regina Spektor, and I think that’s probably the easiest way to describe it. There are always unexpected moments, however, for at one point during “How ‘Bout Cha Go Away” her voice goes from akin to Regina Spektor to perfect and gorgeous Kristin Chenoweth-esque resonance within a few moments. The power of Hughes’ music, for me, is in her lyrics. She seems to be able to express and capture collective thoughts and experiences that aren’t often given voice in such a poetic way. Hughes is a poet. Even without the music, her songs would still be poignant and beautiful. With the music, these songs are gifts: up-lifting, self-affirming, empowering and just ‘angsty’ enough to give them adequate punch. Her voice suits the music perfectly. The best example is the way her voice captures the moment in “Black Cloud” as she sings, “…And I’m hard to keep from screaming/ And I’m the black cloud/ And I take on all the darkness of our home/ So you can be/ happy…” Ka-pow!

My favourite of Hughes’ songs is “Elevator,” which I think beautifully captures the experience of trying to strike the balance between friendship and falling in love. I think she is beloved by her fans especially for the lyrics to “Gorilla Sounds” which include, “You think you’re so hot. You think you’re so slick. You know what I think, boy? I think you’re a dick.” She’s smart. She’s sassy. She has an infectious, genuine smile that holds a glimmer of mischief. You’ll get intrigued

She was doing a lot of shows in 2008/09, a lot of copies of her album have to be floating around. I think it's funny she was friends with Tune-Yards on MySpace

ooooooooooh I found one of the 2006 songs

I sent him a PM but he hasn't responded I hate to even ask since he's already given us so much really!

Also the last few days I've just had her discog on repeat and I really live for some of the weird obscure stuff too! "One Day And One Night" and "Coastal Lines" are both really great to me, and not just because Allie is featured either. "Damaged Nail" is such a rush too omg, I love screaming along.

Pff, am I the only one that likes her Allie Hughes stuff?

Honestly, it doesn't negatively effect Allie because she has very few fans. It'd be different if she were bigger and people were leaking her personal info or something. If any of you she the video just PM it to me because as a fan I would at least like to see the video.
