Emile Haynie songs and demos definitely. The lack of leaked (and even unleaked) Emile Haynie produced tracks has always been weird to me.
 
I understand he started working on BTD quite late in the process but still, he is one of the main producers on the album so I’d assume there are some unknown demos that are still unleaked.

I don’t know why this is hitting me so hard. I mean, obviously the subject matter is EXTREMELY dark — but something about it is just really impacting me
 
It’s so beautifully written and the different vocal styles throughout the track make it seem so fresh and interesting. Idk if it’s just me, but at certain points it somehow reminds me sonically of Thunder?! I need to relisten to find the exact points
 
But, wow. It’s just beautiful. The tribute to the women at the end is heartbreaking. “The prostitute pickup / and the pantyhose thriller” is sticking with me. I can’t get enough of this song
 
As much as I would’ve loved it to have been released, I can’t imagine the moronic backlash she would have faced for “glamorising” abuse/prostitution/murder, even though nothing in this song glamourises any of that. Also, unpopular opinion but… I don’t think it would have fit on OB in the sense of the storyline. Yes it’s thematically similar in that it deals with death, legacies, abuse, general darkness etc, and it definitely would have fit sonically and lyrically, BUT..
 
it’s not solely autobiographical in the way that the rest of the album is, and I’m not sure how it would have fit into the overarching ‘storyline’. But I obviously wish it had been included, because it’s amazing. Not at the expense of Candy Necklace though. But they’d have been a nice A & B side release
 
Wow that was unnecessarily long.. but I just love Zodiac. (Which is a much better name than Purify imo, it’s less in your face and self explanatory)
 
And I agree with everyone else about Lana most likely feeling some sort of personal connection. So many people clowned on her for the response to the Candy Necklace video backlash, when she said she could’ve ended up in a similar position, but anyone smart knows what she meant. Considering the GK was active whilst she was living in nyc, a young woman in a somewhat transient and chaotic/unstable lifestyle.. I get what she means.  
 
 

This song is so interesting and the connection to the Candy Necklace music video makes it make so much more sense now...and how it fits with Ocean Blvd
Also with Kintsugi and Fingertips too, all the songs about grief...I love Ocean Blvd the way it is but I think with Zodiac (and possibly other outtakes that may have been like it) it may have been an even more interesting album
Also A&W "this is the experience of being an american whore" and the victims were sex workers

I really love this song and wish she released it   
 
I feel like this fits into the narrative of Ocean Blvd so well in terms of conversation based around legacy. Specifically how she name dropped four women who had their legacy stolen from them and practically turned into folklore revolving around someone else. It's actually really beautiful how she paid tribute to women by giving them a "hey we didn't forget about you"
 
I also feel like Lana connects with them because during the Lizzy Grant days she was pretty much homeless and living with whatever boyfriends that would let her stay over, she seems to reflect a lot on how she got lucky with her situation and others did not. It could have happened to her and considering this took place so close to her, it probably freaked her out.
