He's a Mariah stan, loves FKA Twigs and doesn't even like Lana or UV... the fuck is he doing here?

For me, I started out just loving her voice, but at some point I became - let's face it - obsessed. I found I could relate to her and her music on many levels, but there were SO many things I could not relate to that I found fascinating because they were so different from me.  
 
Ways I relate to her:
Her undercurrents of depression, understanding of loss, deep love, falling for dark and sad men, fascination with death, love of Whitman, similar age, love of the 1950s, need to have alone time yet doesn't like to be alone, health issues, ability to maintain love for someone who no longer loves you back.
 
Ways I don't relate:
Her past alcohol and drug use, living on the edge, her independence at a very young age, her apparent sexual history seems kind of wild, hip hop references, love of Brittany Spears. 
 
But no matter what, everything she does is interesting to me and adds to the legend that is Lana the Queen. What about you?!

Well I have some news for you here on this Lana Del Rey forum...

IMHO Born To Die (album ... I think it is a true masterpiece for modern times) is greater than a few steps at Ultraviolence (album). Probably by the time I will appreciate more UV, but for now think so.

I also suck at guitar but I always want to find more Lana songs to try   

I wishhhh I'm pretty bad at guitar but its good to try and experiment and see if you can learn by ear. I was able to figure out Is This Happiness on piano with time and patience

Florida Kilos has been special for me from the instant I heard it. As someone who is still struggling with addictions this song brought me to tears. Nowadays the media places so much glamour on drugs and alcohol as the staple pieces of immature teenagers, that few if any songs deal with anything deeper than "I'm doing lines, I'm banging chicks, I don't give a fuck". Florida Kilos is special.
Mermaid Hotel is also one of my favourite. The beat is just hypnotic.

The people at Pitchfork went home and puked after they put Lana in the list. They didn't dare to exclude her totally. The biggest newspaper in Sweden put Born To Die ( the album) in the top ten of the decade. Lists are made by people, and some are idiots. Nothing to get upset about. Call me maybe and some other "classics" on the list tells me all about what they are. 

It's a parody. Just something that's poking fun at Lana & the video. It's nothing insulting or anything to her.

Me too! I don't know how I liked it before I was a Lana fan!

At first, I thought this about SS too, but perhaps SS wasn't included because it was the remix that gained the popularity.

Wow, a lot of people really hate this one, don't they? I think it's pretty great; probably my favorite of the UV videos so far. It perfectly captures the atmosphere of the song, and shooting it on the down low on an iphone gives it a vaguely dangerous vibe that also makes it feel independent and unique among stars of her caliber. She looks great and is charismatic, and even funny at times. There's a general air of mysteriousness pervading the whole thing that makes me want to watch it over and over. I don't find it boring at all. If anything it's much more interesting than big, melodramatic, plot-heavy video would've been. For me anyway.
