The theme of Tropico was an angel in the "land of gods & monster" which is LA - and imo this song is kinda related to the "dark side" of fame hence the theme of Paradise EP. She talks about sleeping her way to the top tho, satirically of course.

can she just drop that cover album, that nikki lane collab album, that poetry album, that 25 best unreleased songs collection album & that LDR9 album at the SAME YEAR??? i know she can do it.

girl. it's just her persona for this era. Whats so hard to comprehend? It's not supposed to be "succesful" on the charts like taylor swift. It's supposed to make you feel like you're listening to a mainstream generic popstar. 
She made < 3 minutes songs on purpose, if that's not clear enough. It's kinda like Gaga's Artpop where she said "DO NOT buy Gaga's new album" and all that stuff, this era is her being a hollywood typical popstar, satirically 

there’s being mean and there’s sharing an opinion, i don’t think the two should be automatically conflated. i understand why she’d be feeling defensive because she’s clearly worked extremely hard on this album and the reception has been mixed. no one cares that her PC era is over, her new sexy 80s vibe is a very natural progression of her sound and is cohesive with her discography thus far; from what i’ve seen everyone is on board with it. i think the main issue people are having is that the execution is not necessarily living up to the concept. it’s a very luxurious and ambitious era overall so when there are budget issues for the videos it is apparent. the songs are short and designed to make you want to play them again so i understand why some people would find them underwhelming. the visuals have been absolutely gorgeous and i personally enjoy everything she’s released but the singles are rarely my favourites off her albums anyways, i hope once people hear crash in its entirety it will click. i’ve shared this opinion here before and gotten dragged for it but i think some of her fans are just disappointed in some untapped potential

I mean I’d definitely like her to incorporate her accent more in her songs like prior and work on her vocals as she really can have a distinct tone which creates a massive chorus affect but otherwise baby is well produced and interesting.

Ever since post-Sucker Charli has been goddamn GRINDING out a space for herself in the pop sphere, she's written bops for artists like Selena & Ryn Weaver, she's made album after mixtape after album after EP of QUALITY material, she made hyperpop a thing by hopping up with PC music, she's made an entire fucking album with fan input during quarantine when most artists were just twiddling their thumbs or partying (dua lipa looking at you). And for whatever reason her """"fans"""" and """"stans"""" are so hyper-critical of her work, like even some of you on here can admit that, remember the controversy of the 5itm remixes? Bugging her so much about Taxi it became a meme? Leaking a whole album & bugging her about it? ALL OF THIS while not even being a "commercially successful" artists like some of her popstar-sphere peers?
Why can't she pop off every now and again against the disrespect she's been facing for ages after feeding us genuinely good & interesting music for literal years?
