  1. Thanks for the recap. I can see why someone would say Henry is the change of the album. Nice little folk song, but a far cry from Video Games, West Coast, Ride, or even Love as the first single off a record. But who knows, maybe it's been reworked.
  2. Honestly, she took that SNL thing way too seriously. If I were her, I'd be there next week poking fun of myself, by singing even worse. And then perform a total slay in the end with some high notes and just wink. Instead, Lana cancelled all her TV performances like forever. It's a tad childish. She wasn't so bad as much as people made her out to be, and she was beautiful. It was iconic.
  3. what else did pantene say? I missed this and how credible Is this user?
  4. her exact words were "the music industry is going country. We're going country." So it was never about "omg everyone's doing country now, so i shouldn't". Her album just wasn't working for whatever reason and she needs more time.
  5. i'n cool with tough being on there for the streams and for having an upbeat song. Also, 12 songs is aok with me as long as there are no skips. OB could have been 4 tracks shorter easily.
  6. It's fine, I'm down for it. But I get the sense she switched up the country vibes on the entire record to something else. We'll only know when Henry drops. I personally want more of a country meets rock sound with electric solo guitars, like this: https://youtu.be/Zv1Vvjur7uM?si=yHeV7pWgHSodW7iL
  7. The thing is, OB the single dropped beginning of December. The album dropped end of March. So, first single four months ahead of the record. If "Stay" is indeed coming out May 21st, then we should be getting it in Feb. Now, the issue is we haven't got a single shred of evidence that May 21st is happening (aside from Lana saying so which means abs. nothing).
  8. Again, i like Tough. It's the most palatable ldr track since Doin' Time and Love before then. Bops like this aren't fanbase favs (people hate it here from what I gather), but they're so important for keeping lana on people's minds (as well as boosting her streaming numbers). Those who hate it should remember that she's got 150 ballads in her discography, and only like 20 bops (at best). It's also her longest charting track in a long time. So, basically Tough was a big win/hit for her. Snow on the Beach was a bit of a disappointment from fans on both side. But i still like the single. Again, palatable, radio friendly. Great to offset the fingertips and other more avantguarde stuff she's been doing.
  9. we ARE. We're here daily, fucking waitin' on it. The issue is that she's announcing albums and singles and then not delivering. she should cook with her mouth closed and all would be well.
  10. Reminder: this is the same artist who followed UV with 14-track running HM the next year. The same artist who followed BTD with Paradise right away. And the same who dropped two records in the same year (BB, Chems). so yeah, 2+ years is unusual for someone that prolific. My only hope is that it's a great record since NFR (her best imo) also took fucking ages to drop.
  11. I predict zero videos. The way CN was brilliant and yet flopped must have left a sour taste in her mouth. It's got 5 million views in years, whereas Gaga's Abracadabra got 33 mill in 10 days. Crazy. (Also, the Gaga video is just dancing, no concept whatsoever). For Tough, it was probably Quavo and their labels that pushed for an MV.
  12. The audacity to announce the album for September... Not release a single single or piece of news on it.... Wait till November and say the album will come out in late May... And then not say nothing and do nothing for another three months, November-February... We've been waiting for this record since January 31 2024 (NMPA). And we know she was working on the album since September 2023 when she first said she was working on an Americana-vein concept. That was six months after the release of OB. And let's not forget she's had another 5 months or so since between wrapping up OB and the release date. So she's had five months since she wrapped up OB, six months after the release of OB, four months till NMPA, and over a year since then. So that's 27 months for 13 songs. Half a song per month? That's really unusually slow for her. Lemme know if I miscalculate.
  13. Tough outreams some major songs on Spotify. It's the 45th most streams LDR song on the platform. Next up: Shades of Cool, and Carmen. I know y'all don't like this song but it's holding real stade with double the streams of, say, Snow on the Beach, which is a Taylor Swift collab. https://kworb.net/spotify/artist/00FQb4jTyendYWaN8pK0wa_songs.html * Tough 198,063,898 283,467 Million Dollar Man 191,348,926 100,441 hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it 191,329,005 47,873 Once Upon a Dream - From "Maleficent" / Pop Version 190,696,897 122,117
  14. If i remember correctly there was an announcement that aw was coming on valentine's which is why i dont think she's gonna randomly drop it on valentines
  15. Wait, where did post these? They look like Neil Krug's shots. All we need is Lana back in her Paradise-era white bikini looking smoking hot among the alligators, and that's the cover.
  16. the truth is, she just doesn't care much for the visuals anymore. trailers - gone ✔️ visual albums ala Tripico - gone ✔️ (closest we got to that is the NFR three-mv set, but that was 6 years ago and it was shot with a potato) super cinematic, high-budget videos - gone ✔️ (with the exception of the glorious Candy Necklace video, which was her finest since UV era) music videos in general - gone ✔️ (except the occasional video, about 1 per record now as opposed to 3-4+ of her early eras) albun covers - not quite gone as you can't do without them. But let's face it, The Right Person Will Stay cover is not giving, as was the BB selfie cover - until the label changed it. OB was a slay tho so there's still hope. lana strikes me as completely not interested in the visuals anymore. She'd rather have fun with Chuck or direct her own stuff. It's kinda cool, this level of not giving a damn. But she looks sooo HOT nowadays and I really want her to do a big budget sexy video again ala Burning Desire, Born to Die or Shades of Cool.
  17. The Abyss debuts on the Billboard hot 100 at 68. https://www.billboard.com/artist/lana-del-rey/chart-history/hsi/ Since I doubt TRPWS will chart, this is pretty neat, especially so soon after Tough, which also charted.
  18. You ate that. (Also, why didn't I think of that in the LDR quote thread. Savage)
  19. she says a lot of things lol... the abyss is one song, and she'll probably drop henry right before stagecoach. And that's "a few songs"
  20. Given that we're in the most excruciatingly annoying era yet (and I use the term "era" loosely), you can bet on the single announcement 1-2 months before the single. Sth like - announcement March 29th, single drop: May 15th.
  21. Damn, their lowest collab ranking on Billboard 100. That said, given the lack of promo, and the fact that her name wasn't even listed for a while, it's great that they've even made it. To be honest, just having Lana on Billboard 100 is a success, given how low-key her music has been as of late. So, to have two songs chart (Abyss + Tough) within 6 months is pretty fucking great. This will be her 17th track charting there.
  22. My favs: Open Hearts Wake Me Up Cry for Me Timeless Sao Paolo The Abyss Take Me Back to LA Some of his best work ever. Will need more time with the others.
