  1. I cannot wait to see it! Love Sean Baker's past films, especially Tangerine and Red Rocket .He even replied to me on the gram a few times, which I think is super cool. Also, love the hashtag! Hashtag of the year on lana boards?
  2. To paraphrase Moira Rose, awards season is the best season. And then, Christmas! We can survive without Lasso singles.
  3. I'm enjoying other people's music and projects. Finneas's new album is really cute. The Weekend's new singles are pretty cool. The Bettlejuice Bettlejuice soundtrack is perfect for the Halloween season. That Tough Graveregz remix works pretty well for autumn jogs. And then there are the movies, you can now stream The Substance, Beettlejuice Beettlejuice, and The good Robot. Anora's just hit the theatres and that's meant to be the year's hottest movie. The Oscar season is upon us. Like, we don't have to wait for Lana to enjoy ourselves.
  4. First, let's not call it an era A speech at an awards ceremony and an NME interview is not an era make.
  5. Finneas's new album. Love the opening songs + the lead single. It's super chilled, and relaxing. Fits the autumn mood perfectly.
  6. Okay, so Finneas's new album is really good. Loveing the first two track in particular, but it holds up pretty well after that. I see some Harry Styles in this, it's a bit more easy on the ear and melodic, and catchy. Would recommend
  7. Some people do. The Cedric G. remix is in top 10 of Lana's career streaming wise. The SYTH remix by Anyma has amassed more streams than than the OB interludes, Hollywood Bowl, Suburban House. I like the idea of LDR remixes, personally, it brings her music to the clubs. (Pretty sure SYTH did pretty well in terms of that). Also, it's great to have your favorite songs repackaged for your gym playlists. They also help with overall streaming numbers. Lady Gaga has tons of them, for example.
  8. Adams Family Values lol. So good and funny. Halloween mood is on.
  9. Yeah, it's pretty cool. I added it to my gym playlist. Guess they're trying to boost Tough's streams ahead of the Grammys. (The original song's part of the combo on iTunes with the remixes.) For once, Lana's team is on it! Meanwhile, Tough has outstreamed Freak, and Money, Power, Glory on Spotify. It will outdo Gods & Monsters by end of today too.
  10. She couldn't care less about remixes; this is the label's work. She probably doesn't even know that they exist. When she said singles, she definitely meant new songs. I still think they're some random collabs though, covers, or soundtrack work, not Lasso material.
  11. 100%. The whole thing is not sounding right. My only comfort is that NFR also had delays and seemed like a lot of hard work behind the scenes. The difference this time is: we don't even f-ing know what they're working on. It's October 10 and we're firmly on square 1. All we really know is that they're working on an album that was meant to be country but has since become more American songbook, and is more melodic and less revealing than the past 3 albums. But it sounds like it's very much WIP. Which is why I don't trust Lana at all when she said "two more songs coming out this year." Like, bitch, when, December? She's really led us down the garden path with this one. OB must have been all done by December 2022. We'll soon be in December 2024 without a single taste of the album aside from Henry, Come On and POSSIBLY Fenway intro. How weird is that?
  12. In reality tho, we have zero fucking clue what it's going to be. For all we know, it could be better than NFR. Or it could be a shitshow like BB. She might include Tough and Fenway, and have some bops or rap in it. Or she might be sitting on a slew of languid country ballads like Henry, Come On and Prettiest Girl. Like, we're literally clueless. The one thing I know for sure is that 2 years is a very decent amount of time for a good LDR record, and I don't think she'll give us something like BB (which she obviously slapped together during covid for financial reasons because she wasn't doing concerts and Interscope was probably begging her to). What we'll probably end up getting is a great LDR record packed with melodic sad songs with some country influences, and some surprises ala AW. The only thing that's certain is that we won't be getting this record until March next year at the earliest.
  13. I never saw the Weinstein one. Might check it out. Fun fact: way before the Weinstein scandal, I always thought he was suss. He just had that look about him. I had this idea for a short story titled "The Last Hollywood Party", where all the acting celebrities get invited to a party in the mansion of a big Hollywood producer - Weinstein. But then, he puts them through Hunger Games-style survival because he's gone batshit crazy. Like, water filling up the room, professional hitmen shooting at them, a fire, etc. I was gonna have one A list actress survive, like Amy Adams, trying to get back to her daughter. thought it was a really interesting idea. Four pages into the story, they announced the first Weinstein allegations and I was like "damn". Never finished it.
  14. I can't wait for the documentary. Finding Neverland (the Michael Jackson one) blew my mind. I still can't believe those parents let their boys sleep with him in the same bed - just because he was a celebrity. It was so painstankingly obvious, in hindsight.
  15. This year and last year were kinda revelatory about celebrities being not exactly the godly figures we took thought they were. There's a lot of backlash about a lot of people, and the ethics of celebrity culture at large is under scrutiny, which I believe is a good thing. For example, hosting the Met Gala amidst war, famine, etc. Some are coming across really well like The Weeknd with his massive donations and no ties to P. Diddy. Just cracking on with his new album and being the cool guy he is. Billie Eilish too with great music output and her ethical record pressing. But many are coming across as completely oblivious if not complicit as to what's happening in the world, whether it's Palestine, the environment, rape culture, and so on. Even musically, look at the backlash Katy Perry got for her misjudged cheap feminism abortion of a song. The judgement is severe. I feel bad that Dicaprio is dragged into some of this since he's been the Greta Thunberg of the Hollywood industry and one of the rare people with actual balls and a voice. But yeah, people have rarely been more aware and talking this much about celebrities, and who's the good guy and the bad guy. I guess we can thank the social media for all of that? During the 80s and 90s, all people could do was shout at their TV if they were annoyed by someone, and noone would hear that. Now we're streaming wars, colonialism, lies, political hypocrisy, and so much more in real time. So, yeah, people can't get away with the same shit that they used to. I think that's a good thing. It's also a bad in the sense of "fuck, we're so powerless" about a lot of these issues.
  16. It's a particular type of masochism to expose oneself to this thread when it's been one giant rolling desert bush after another all year I even said I would not be stalking it again, yet here I am #MusicalBDSM #TeamDelulu
  17. You're right on all fronts. Although, I don't think the MV made much of a difference for Tough (it only has 16 M views). CN had an incredible MV and still flopped, if we look at pure numbers. Margaret and LTLI are still doing surprisingly well indeed. Especially Margaret with its languid pace. Who knows, maybe Tough holds up against them? We'll know in a few months. But overall, I'm quite happy with Tough's performance.
  18. Tough drops considerably on Spotify re-streaming numbers with 600K per day. It'll take it a while to crack LDR's top 50 (it's at 58 now). But then it's still doing 6 x better than A&W, which is only garnering 100K per day. It's only 3 songs behind it, which is crazy given that A&W has been out for a year and a half and Tough's only been out a few months. It'll crack top 50 in a few weeks, and probably hold up steady to end up in the top 40-30 by year end, which is very good for this song. 19. Exactly. Who's Halsey anyway? Never heard of her. As for Gaga, her movie + album are flopping big time. It wouldn't be cool if Lana dropped something during her single week because they're with the same label, but the week after would be absolutely fine. I just don't think anything is coming soon because, well, why would we think that?
  20. Yeah, that's another thing. There's no way it would have won over Frozen... That song was probably the most successful one of the decade in cinema. Thanks for sharing the tutorial! Really appreciate it. I feel like I haven't been giving enough love to the posts on here.
  21. No doubt about it. I just hope Lana sees it that way. I also think Lana doesn't "play the game" all that well. Probably not kissing enough asses behind the scenes, not attending enough parties, and not sucking, well, enough.... Also, she's not the one to sit on the talk show couches like Taylor, Gaga, and the others. She's a bit of a recluse, and does her own thing. A dark horse if there ever was one. The funny thing is: she's got the sales and streaming numbers. Like, she's right up there with Taylor, Billie, Gaga and the other pop girlies. She's been in the game for 10 years. She's proved herself. Her albums are among the most critically acclaimed (unlike Katy Perry and others). So, they really should put their jealousy aside and pay her her dues.
  22. Please... Not that conspiracy theory. Harvey had nothing to do with it. They would have set a precedent for Lana especially. Why would they have? Y&B didn't stand a chance. Just like the soundtrack for Black Swan didn't have a chance because it was mostly re-using and repurposing Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. It was disqualified because it wasn't deemed "original" music for the film. It's the Academy rules. Also, it's the composer branche who decide on this yearly, not the producer branch (Weinstein).
  23. yeah, they really hate her. if she couldn't win alternative song with A&W, which everyone called best of the year last year, then she doesn't have a chance if she does a full album of t swift collabs. not to mention they snubbed her for ob in alternative, and nfr for best album - in the year when everyone in the world thought it was the best album. my theory is: they're just supremely jealous of her.
