Maybe not necessarily unpopular, but I looked at my last.fm stats  and realized that I really am a "post-LFL" stan  I just love her work with Jack so much and the more gentle and contemplative direction she's been going in. In order by plays:
    1. Norman Fucking Rockwell
    2. Chemtrails Over the Country Club
    3. Honeymoon
    4. Blue Banisters
    5. Lust for Life
    6. Ultraviolence
    7. Born to Die
    8. Paradise

From the trinity of NFR, COCC and BB... COCC is my favourite

The alternate UO album cover for Honeymoon should have been the standard one. It just looks way better and visually has more of a cinematic feel which reflects well with the songs

Like take for instance the better text composition, Lana's eyes piercing through your soul and the ‘trust no one’ tattoo being in view which adds to the elusive atmosphere of the record

Lana doesn't know what she really wants. Lately she's been trying to sound new and different, although she's actually already found her own style. Last time she wanted to sound like Joni Mitchell, but other musicians like Weyes Blood can actually do it better because they have a deeper connection.
I'm also not sure if Lana really has a deep connection to all the singers and books she mentions in her songs. I feel like sometimes she just drops names. She rarely posts anything about them on Instagram. And when she does listen to something, it's something else like Madison Beer or rap (like the last time she went to church), which kind of doesn't fit with her other interests at all.

I just know Lana is punching the air right now because of this

Exactly! Yeah, this is one of Lana's most disliked songs by the fans. I love it because it has such an amazing atmosphere and it makes me feel so warm

This woman is the most heterosexual woman on earth, and that’s constantly being proven to us by the sewer rats she chooses to canoodle with. Anyone who is still waiting on her gay/bi era is delusional at this point. I’m sorry 😩

It's easier to give examples where her song lyrics aren't very profound, for example in Arcadia where she compares fingertips to moving cars or wishes for a Hilton Hilton. I mean, these are also not poetic highlights anyway.

    Another opinion:
Ocean Blvd would be a perfect song without the "fuck me to death" line

whenever this line comes up on this otherwise beautiful song I'm like

Those who get LMLYLAW get it, those who don't, don't

    take you to infinity
let me love you like a woman
we could get lost in the purple rain
talk about the good ol' days
we could get high on some pink champagne
baby let me count the ways

I must be one of few people who enjoy Beautiful. I love the lyrics for some reason, they are comforting. It does kinda feel like she’s rushing through the song to get it over with though. Especially in the second chorus. But I think it’s a pretty song with a nice sentiment. And I enjoyed IYLDWM and I love BBS.

Choosing jacks best instrumental is dirty , I mean beautiful has nice melody and doesn’t lack much if you compare it to let’s say , love song .

Try listening to Arcadia with a headphone, “all roads that lead to you as integral to me” gives me headache, the vocals were really loud, but I still love the song anyway

All the complaints I've seen about Beautiful are because of either lyrics, melody, vocals and/or mixing and Drew had probably 0% to do with that

The twinkling piano notes are actually the best part of the song and I say that as someone who doesn't hate Beautiful as much as the majority here

I'm really excited for his work on the upcoming record cause Arcadia's horns and the whole IYLDWM are highlights in my opinion
I think he'll work even better with more instruments/an orchestra so I have high hopes

    Since I have time today:
    * Black Bathing Suit is one of my favorites on BB, but I actually feel like its production is its biggest fault. It sounds messy, like throwing stuff at a wall and hoping it sticks.
    * Dealer is simply ok. It’s popular because of the iconic “I don’t wanna live,” but I don’t think it’s a notable song in Lana’s discography.
    * I do like Text Book actually so there’s that.

Lana is really channeling “I’m still so strange and wild” energy with this album if you think about it.
