when i heard it for the first time, i was very confused and didnt like it. but i also forgot it was the opener and i think no other track could be. something about the „im gonna take mine of you with me“ is so powerful and i feel like connects to a lot of the album. the song in general has grown a lot on me i feel like i ~get it~ now. generally im a fan of the „spoken“ parts throughout the album … even judah smith interlude for some inexplicable reason

Caroline, will you be with me?
    Will the baby be alright?
Will I have one of mine?
    Can I handle it?
Even if I do, it’s said my mind is not fit (or so they said)  to carry a child….
    I guess I’ll be fine

Currently crying to Kintsugi, because my dad passed away a couple months ago, so I've been singing "Daddy, I miss you".

The part about the Road Runner Cafe is hitting me really hard. He had this car called a Road Runner when I was really young. It was his favorite car in the world (and he was obsessed with cars). We used to go to this old cafe for breakfast every Saturday morning, so I picture being at that cafe and getting out of the road runner with him.

I wish I could tell Lana "thank you" for writing this song. It's very comforting right now. A lot of these songs are.

Jack Antonoff enablers saying it is all Lana's choice, pls explain why if u listen to instrumentals by LDR Taylor Swift or Lorde you probably wouldnt be able to tell which one is which? GTFO!

That being said I unexpectedly loved Ocean Blvd A LOT. Might be my fav album, though I am for sure biased when it comes to UV because of the sentimental value it has for me.

Guys this album is overwhelming. I start playing one song and then I want to play another but I want to play so many at the same time and then I realise I haven’t listened to a song I love in a while and then scramble to play that one as well. This hasn’t happened to me in a very long time.

Also I think this is her most Lizzy album. Candy Necklace could easily be from AKA, so dark and eerie

Please listen to her whole discography every single unreleased song available to us , and then come back and tell me that her sound is not connected with the people she works with . Of course she has a signature sound she is miss F Lana Del Rey  BUT, denying the input of the people behind her albums is just like hiding an elephant inside a room . Lana is a singer songwriter. Not a *producer*. It is the producers job to challenge the artists , to make sure that the ideas come into fruition , that the sound is crystal clear and the production shines and compliments the soundscapes the artist has dreamed of . Ultraviolence ended up being her masterpiece  because she was pushed to her limits .

It's been one week and the thread is dying? I'm still on a high from this album!
I play it in the car... I hear something different. I play it on my sonos... I hear the expansive production. I play at night in bed in my Head Phones and the quiet little background details come to life.
I'm still not done processing it and yall have disappeared?

if you think about, she lives the "feminist dream": she leads an independent life, is self-realized and has more money than most men. And that alone makes her a role model for many women.

various internet websites and DM has been reporting him without wedding ring- probably bogus though

It’s really sad and disturbing to me how everything has gone full circle and a lot of the general public is just back to making fun of Britney again. In 2021 at the height of #FreeBritney, people acted like they had learned so much since the 2000s about treating women fairly, understanding mental health, etc., and as soon as Britney’s out of the conservatorship and not acting how people expect her to, now she’s just become the punchline of a joke again. It’s disgusting. Though she’s done so much for me and so many others out there, I can’t help but think that she would’ve led a much happier life never being famous.

I’d say you’ve got so much time on your hands, why don’t you put that energy in to something more productive

TBH all the "Jack vs other producers talk" makes Lana look like someone who's artistic integrity, process, and growth is tied to the men she's worked with--rather than accepting that she's forged her own way and evolved into the musician she wants to be.

Lana is in complete creative control, and to blame her falters on Jack or any other producer also means to diminish her successes as the result of her producers; both are untrue.

So much for ''Jack isn't challenging and pushing Lana in the studio :('' narrative.

I personally wouldn't respond at all. People like this are either trolls looking for a reaction, or incapable of critical thinking, and I have no interest in engaging with either  At most, send them a Sure Jan gif and move on

It’s a shallow and unintelligent response to Lana’s art. It’s very “Jezebel blog post in 2012.”

A lot of women (and men) have had the experiences Lana has, questioning their self worth, dating people who don’t treat them well, experiencing domestic violence, experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol. Why don’t they get to listen to music that reflects that experience back without judgment? Who are these dumbasses to think that they get to dictate the kind of shit other people want to sing about? Why do so many people seem to need an artist to release their music with disclaimers and caveats so that these losers don’t get apoplectic when they hear about something they might not like?

In one of Lana's IG videos she talked about updating us on a few more things coming.
And BOZ mentioned that surprise...was that really the listening party?

Have we heard anything else? Tour? TV appearances? ANYTHING?

that is just  Lana's music is her life- if someone wants feminist theory, why don't they head to the library?
it's like me flipping on the sopranos & then being mad i'm not met with like anti-gun messaging or something. gtfoh
