i think you're thinking of "the holy of the holies" which wasn't a temple but a place within the temple of jerusalem where the ark of the covenant was kept but she's definitely saying "houses" in the song but i do like the imagery and religious metaphor of the way you heard it and kinda wish now that that's what she was saying

Isn’t it also a part of the old Jerusalem temple in the Bible? But I could be wrong though.

Found it! It seems like this could be the article the tweet was referencing:

Interesting that it lists a potential release for AKA in summer 2009, which could suggest that there was a plan B when the February release didn't take place... and yet it still didn't drop until the next year

i don't get the "blinded by nostalgia" accusations as if the whole rerecording endeavour doesn't rely solely on people being nostalgic for these albums/eras. and i think people prefering the originals has less to do with nostalgia and mroe to do with lightening only striking once. like these songs & albums were already perfect as they were and by trying to improve the vocals or production or even the narrative around the albums, its like revisionist history. i mean, i am enjoying the rerecordings especially the vault tracks, but i'm not gonna fool myself into pretending the rerecordings are just as good or better than the originals.

Taylor is one of my favorite singers but I guess I don’t care about her making another buck to listen to shittier versions of her music. I’ll stick with the ogs. She’s rich enough

Yes! It’s not just about sleeping around. It’s about girls who use only their sexual promiscuity to attract and “steal” men from girls like Taylor who actually care. It’s not shaming her for sleeping around, it’s shaming a very specific type of person (in this case a woman) who weaponizes her sexuality to hurt others. Why Taylor didn’t keep it is simple.
she is spineless now and won’t risk anything that her audience could take as her being “wrong” cuz Taylor always has to be perfect.

i don't get how thw line is even considered "slut shaming" like yeah she's implying this chick sleeps around but she's not shaming her for it. she's shaming her for stealing her boyfriend and being an overall bad person. you could argue that mentioning she sleeps around isn't relevant or necessary but you could say that about any details she gives about anything in any of her songs. and if taylor had a line about a guy sleeping around, no one would care at all. just another thing the younger generation blew out of proportion and made taylor feel guilty for.

some interesting/obscure information i found in the minor general questions thread

    - the alt. title "trash sugar magic" came about because somebody during the ldr.fm era referred to the trash magic demo which is sometimes known as "the man i love" as "trash sugar magic"

    - somebody claimed to have seen the "rehab" title on her myspace, but take that with a grain of salt

    - "god bless america" was considered to be the title of lana del ray a.k.a lizzy grant, alongside born to die

    - her father helped with the marketing of ldrakalg and said he enjoyed living vicariously through her

    - she planned on re-released/re-recording kill kill and mermaid motel, obviously this never happened

    - there's a mention of a rumored "oh say can you see" video, alongside queen of the gas station and smarty, we know that there's a qotgs video, but the other two are still not 100% confirmed, so take that with a grain of salt, just thought it was interesting that it was specifically mentioned alongside the other two which were rumored for years (now we know for sure one of those do exist)

    - this seems to be another early version of the born to die tracklist which was posted by ldr.fm mods, without you, dark paradise, and hundred dollar bill seem to be the bonus tracks

resistance was included on an album titled "slam-complete studs collection", oddly enough, it seems like this album is from 1993? according to the post it was titled as "resistor" on the album (there was an amazon link to it, but unfortunately it no longer works)

    - somebody from reeve carney's band mentioned lizzy grant, at the time, her myspace was called "therichwhores" so this was probably during 2007, he called her "terrific" and "really talented"

    - "bollywood hawaii" which is the laptop demo of "maha maha" is titled that because that's the title that princess superstar gave the instrumental ("bollywood hawaii in space")

    - the "final" or "alternate" version of st. tropez may just be a rumor, a rumored "better" version of betty boop boop was also mentioned but that could very likely be false

    - allegedly a fan become friends with lana and she sent him songs, "future jazz" and "endless summer" which later become freak... very likely fake but still interesting

    - lana was planning to scrap west coast, but after dan auerbach reworked it, she liked it and decided to keep it for the album

i didn't go through the entire thread but i found some interesting things!

Sam Smith is such the token LGBTQI+ of movie soundtracks. Guy is glad he is queer, otherwise his basic music would not be of interest for anyone
