This is the kind of news that I almost wish I didn’t know bc it pains me so much knowing we’ll never get the other half of UV  On the positive side, maybe she will return to IG to promote Blake’s album and give us a crumb of insight on what she’s been up to. 

ULTRAVIOLENCE DOUBLE ALBUM

Blake Lee has a LENGTHY interview and in one small part (30 minute mark) he speaks about his time working on Ultraviolence and his first time meeting Lana!
 
Blake says he first met Lana and he was simply himself, no expectations. Byron helped him get the audition. 
He says the First show they played together was secret and under an alias name in NYC.
 
He says working with Lana is "spontaneous, electric, thrilling" and he remembered looking up Video Games for the first time and his mother overheard and they both fell in love with the sound of the song and the video. and he knew he wanted to be part of her band. 
 
Blake says he is blown away with how fast she writes songs and it is unlike anyone else he has worked with. 
He says he has no idea how many songs she has written BUT Ultraviolence was originally a double album (40 songs were written for Ultraviolence that he remembers and said they were all worthy of being on the album. He said a few of the interludes that didn't make the album have been worked into some of the live shows they do) 
 
Blake says he respects her so much and calls her "the real deal" and admires her ethos of "not trying hard or pretending to be something, and just saying NO when you don't want to do something or if something does not feel right knowing to say no, and then eventually the right thing will come along "
says it was Lana's idea to get Chriss Isaak to perform at the Hollywood Bowl,

100% agree with everything you said. I said a few pages back I think she should have maybe marketed this as a memoir and ditched some of the rupi kaur line breaks (which makes it harder to read imo), but I think 'poetry book' is the current marketing buzzword at the moment. it's obvious she has a lot that she wants to get off her chest and feels like she can't sing those things, in pain eraser she said: line breaks omitted.
the things i need to write about are the things i'm scared to write about, lest they blow up my life and everything i tried so hard to save / mend / bury / heal.
if she sings about some of these things they're going to get so much more attention than if she just puts them in a poetry book and she'll have to sing them on tour for weeks. I think with over decade of releases she can just release her one little poetry book, new music is coming in 2025, and she'd already said she was taking a break because of her chronic fatigue so I don't think this poetry book has delayed the album at all.

I think it's just so...mean that people not only decided to drop her the moment L+F didn't sound bright, but also just shit on her nonstop. No one's telling you to read her poetry, if you don't like her anymore then just unfollow and move along. 
 
As for the poetry itself, "Aspartame" is pretty shocking (complimentary). I can understand if you find it, poetry-wise, weak, but it's still a fucking revelation in a way her music wasn't able to convey before. Also blunt. As a fan, I find it fascinating to read that and then link up with the lyrics and stories that she shared for the past ~15 years. The way you can read Hollywood in another light, you understand a lot of her "America Obsession" and so on. I haven't been up with everything posted, but I also remember how that "Sparkling Clam" can be connected to Solitaire; it's a deep dive on her mind and life.
 
Maybe the problem was labelling it as poetry and the expectations that comes with it.

yep. the truth has unfortunately been hitting me real hard in the past few days. we have been defending her against all odds through each controversy believing in her good faith but nope, she was just venting from the height of her white millionaire privileged ass, unwilling to learn and cosplaying ordinary woman and we ran with it despite signals showing she didn’t really give a fck about marginalised communities except when it literally damaged her reputation (the Indian headwear and the qftc - poc issue) . this has been a hard lesson for me and I fear there’s no coming back. I’m way past denial. 

lmao the crystals debacle sent me fcking flying - I had a hint of her brain rot with the mesh-mask but I chose to ignore. then the post about Tessa “lifting her cough remotely” I was like how was I so blind this bitch is really that dumb? 💀 and now the crystals, ma’am way too much coke fried your brain
