Eclipse impersonated Lana and contacted Nikki Lane for the new music claiming she lost it. She got very excited, she knew it's her chance, but since she only had voice memos Lana sent her on whatsapp she decided to challenge herself and produce mixes of the whole album to send back for reference. Clumsy Nikki accidentally sent them back to real Lana.
 
This is now being released as "Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd" on March 10th.

For real. I do believe it wasn't racially motivated. I agree that she should stop giving into the naysayers but I also understand her very well in the fighting for her truth
As for me it is disgusting that despite all the 'mental awareness' etc nowadays I feel like people still associatiate women's feelings with madness, hysteria and craziness. And then the whole situation was used to put her in the 'karen' cage.
I feel like, through her more recent lyrics, that she still struggles with it a lot like she doesn't even feel the love from the world but only family and friends. 
Just as I said I'm really curious what is coming out in March. Hopefully we'll get to know more about her story 

It’s funny because in The Guardian interview, the interviewer lists controversial artists at that time…Gaga, Miley, etc and Lana said those artists go out of their way to incite criticism, and she does not (besides the odd lyric here and there, which is accurate I would say) 
 
QFTC seemed to mirror that portion of the interview to me…..I don’t remember word for word what she even said, but I feel like the sentiments were the same. She got it bad from that because all the artists she listed were black or of color, but she was just listing popular artists in the US at the time….it wasn’t particularly racially motivated.
 
But that’s why I wish she would stop giving in to the naysayers….she has to realize some of her lyrical content DOES invite criticism, no matter if it’s just the weird one liner about drugs or domestic abuse. Shit like that will draw attention. I think she’s understood this since UV and has edited herself a lot. So good for her. 
 
I don’t think anyone could’ve anticipated the amount of backlash she got in 2020. Oh that was rough for all of us!

To this day I still think ‘Music to Watch Boys To’ would’ve been an ICONIC album title, ‘Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have, but I have it’ would’ve ended careers if it was the NFR title, and BB should’ve been called ‘Wildflower Wildfire’. i wonder what other title track-worthy songs on the Ocean Blvd track list we’ll get

it’s really interesting noticing the direct parallels between what she said in interviews almost a decade ago and lyrics now. like,

The double standards in music industry are just fucked up. I understand her anger in QOTC it must be frustrating. At the same time I'm super excited for new record bc eclipse that she changed the narrative as a survivor. Wishing her all the best and peace cuz she deserves that.

She has been very strong. Every artist somehow earns his pocket change from fame, but what he did with it was always very delicate. I, as a person, feel awful when I'm judged negatively, and it's extremely exhausting (and unfair) to have to prove we're not who we're told we are. 

I understand your point of view, it really gets tiring. But it's not like Lana was just criticized for her performance on SNL and that was it. She was criticized a while ago for a mask used in a clip, placements on Instagram, scandal of alleged racism, etc. In the Lust for life era, things were better, but it's amazing how everything got worse to the point where she deleted social media. I know it was very difficult for Lana to work through all this before and it is now again. Let's allow her to talk about it. I believe she still has a lot to talk about - and deserves it.

For me, this album can be like Honeymoon, without a video for the title track (it even had one, but since it disappeared, it's like it didn't exist).
Did You Know (...) is a beautiful song, but I can't imagine a great video for it. It is extremely confessional and words alone are enough. If Lana were to look for some image resource, it might even take away the magic of listening and imagining. Plus it would be just plain basic if she just recorded herself in her room singing or extremely predictable if there were takes in the tunnel.
