Idk if the country is just shifting right, but I was even surprised California was going slightly more right than before. I think part of it is a lot of more progressive people in CA decided to not vote either because 1. People assume it’s going blue anyways or 2. People who are upset with the situation in Palestine and protesting their vote. there were a few progressive propositions that didn’t pass like banning forced prison labor which has been used as a loophole for slavery. The min wage here is 16$ per hour while inmates only get paid 74 cents per hour. Everyone including myself have been shocked it didn’t pass considering no one has opposed it

I think it’s possible. Maybe not the next election, but I don’t think never. Plenty of other countries have had women as leaders. Mexico elected their first woman president this past year. Obviously things are different there, but there’s a lot of misogyny from machismo beliefs. We had a president who is black for 2 consecutive terms in 2008 & 2012. I don’t think it’s unrealistic for a woman to be president here one day. There needs to be a stronger candidate for it to happen. People didn’t trust Hillary and a lot of people weren’t a fan of Kamala to begin with.

Honestly I don’t really know much about her because I’m not as familiar with many governors in other states. I’d have to research more but from what I’ve seen, she seems decent. I have some faith enough people will see trumps true colors after his next term. At least I hope

I understand wanting to exercise your vote in a candidate you align with, but 3rd party candidates had absolutely no chance in winning this election. Not a single state voted 3rd party. Voting for a party that won’t win instead of voting for a candidate that had a chance against trump, is naive. I don’t agree with Kamala’s stance on the situation in the Middle East, but trump is going to expedite the genocide. Not to mention all the other things a trump term is going to bring and puts the women, LGBT+, immigrants, POC, children, etc at risk. If you have beliefs anywhere near the left side of the political spectrum (even many republicans don’t agree with trump) and care about people in this country, there’s a clear difference. It’s a terrible situation, but it’s like choosing between a box of strawberries with one or two that is old and going bad vs a box full of rotten fruit. I don’t mean any disrespect, but idk how else to explain this to you. This was not the election to vote 3rd party. So much is now at stake.

I’ve said it before the election, and I’ll say it again. If you voted 3rd party this election solely because of Israel and Palestine, you are extremely naive. last night I just felt frozen from shock, but today I’m very sad and disappointed in this country.

I really don't understand it. there's SO many latino trump supporters I can't wrap my head around it.
