  1. I'm really obsessed with this lately, and I can't help but wonder if Lana was thinking of this with the infamous NFR "Bird World!" title I can imagine Lana liking Patti, she's also inspired by the beat poets
  2. Wildflower wildfire Velveteen
  3. God Knows I Tried Celluloid
  4. I agree with you, but those are some of my favourite songs because they're so languid, cinematic, dreamy, and stunning I guess I don't consider languid to be a negative word. I think of it as not meaning "low effort" but more the way that a summer day feels all hazy and slow. I would also quite like zero covers. Although I loved Buddy’s Rendezvous, Doin' Time and a few others, I feel the albums are stronger without them (generally)
  5. I just finished Wide Sargasso Sea, a post colonial, post modernism feminist response to Jane Eyre. Loved it personally although I can see why it has mixed reactions. I also recently read my first James Joyce, A Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man. There were moments of brilliant prose but overall it dragged too much for me. I'll try more Joyce though. Before that, I read The Dispossessed by Ursula K Le Guin, a great exploration of anarchism, capitalism, etc in a science fiction setting. I Who Have Never Known Men, a dystopian by Jacqueline Harpman, was also excellent. It will probably stay with me for a long time. The Crying of Lot 49 was my first time reading Pynchon and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a trip! I'll re-read it later for sure. It's also such fun seeing how many people are inspired by it, including Radiohead, one of my favourite bands! I am now seeing W.A.S.T.E everywhere. Giovanni's Room was also my first James Baldwin, and I fell in love with his minimalist prose. What a great tragic story and so far ahead of its time. I will absolutely be reading more Baldwin. I could go on and on but ... I'm now reading The Word for World is Forest, a short story by Ursula Le Guin, and will then be moving onto The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea, my first Mishima, which I bought recently.
  6. I don't really know where the best place to post this is, but I randomly came across this dress and INSTANTLY thought it would be such a cute lasso moment with cowboy boots! The embroidered horses? Plus I feel it matches her recent style quite nicely https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/embroidered-horses-ruffled-mini-dress-000795156.html
  7. I suddenly massively regret paying with my bank card What a mess up and how disappointing
  8. Same! Has anyone in the U.K. received an email/refund or just international folks? This is so strange
  9. No I don't want my fear of missing out on collectables to be a reason to spend money on something that I just don't like
  10. Even though the email said it was exclusive, it seems to be available to everyone? I couldn't get back to the page (it said page not found) so had to go onto the product page and then found this FESTIVAL COLLECTION DO NOT USE area ... so unprofessional looking. Anyway the white set is cute (although it's not floral? It's hearts and bows) but I can't spend that much money on it when it's not even cotton. I might make my own embroidered black bow
  11. I want the bow (everything else is too high priced for the designs) but it's £17.50 ... I can't justify spending that
  12. What do we think the exclusive item not available for general sale is? Maybe the hair bow? Or something they didn't show?
  13. I just bought it, even though I can't see it I know its going to be a MOMENT I can't wait for the interview (hopefully?) too !!! Omg
  14. Burnt Norton is clearly the winner. It's so atmospheric, I just love the poetry reading, everything about it is perfect. It's all I want in an interlude. The trio is a close second for me. I also actually like BOTH of the Ocean Blvd interludes
  15. I really love how Margaret just shows her love for Lana every chance she gets I haven't listened yet but how cool that Laufey interviewed THE Elton John and Lana is getting mentioned by him!
  16. I REALLY wish Lana had won, but even though I'm not an active fan, I'm glad at least it went to SZA after she lost the major categories in the Grammys
  17. I just checked my letterboxd yearly review for 2023. A lot of it was skewed because I didn't know how to use it back then and logged a lot completely wrong. But this was interesting MOST WATCHED THEME Surreal and thought-provoking visions of life and death MOST WATCHED NANOGENRE® Weird, Dream, Journey
  18. I've just recently started using letterboxd, but I love it! Here's my profile: https://letterboxd.com/ellanorwatches/ , I watch a decent ratio of English-language and world cinema, so it might be interesting My top four favourite films would probably be In the Mood for Love, Apocalypse Now, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and The Godfather Part 1 & 2, but I'd give honourable mentions to A Touch of Zen, Dune, Grave of the Fireflies, Your Name, and Blue is the Warmest Colour
  19. The Sun Also Rises

    PJ Harvey

The first North American tour in seven years has finally been announced for all PJ Harvey's U.S. and Canada-based fans! Scroll down for the dates: https://pjharvey.net/live/ It says the pre-sale starts March 1st
  20. I just finished: The Plague by Albert Camus - hits differently after Covid, and Camus is a master of weaving philosophy into fiction in a great way for beginners The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula le Guin - an incredibly short story that I couldn't stop thinking about all day The Devil by Leo Tolstoy - a novella about obsession and addiction that's nowhere near as good as his longer works but still worth the read Now I'm attempting to tackle The Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. I tried to read it last year but life got in the way! It's part of my "reading everything Lana ever mentioned" list ...
  21. I just saw this on the OU U.K. store: https://www.urbanoutfitters.com/en-gb/shop/wise-words-of-lana-del-rey-uo-exclusive-book?category=SEARCHRESULTS&color=000&searchparams=q%3Dlana%20del%20rey&type=REGULAR&size=ONE SIZE&quantity=1 Personally I won't get it, but sharing for anyone here who may be interested
  22. Why does the U.K. UO never get anything like this I don't have Chemtrails on vinyl at all yet. For anyone who has multiple pressings, which is your favourite? Aesthetically I like the clear vinyl, green vinyl, and the red Neil Krug white dress vinyl — which should I prioritise hunting down?
