What the debate commission does to prevent third party candidates from participating is just wrong. I think it’s been 32 years since there was a third party candidate included in an official presidential debate? (Ross Perot in 1992)
 
Third party candidates have to get unrealistic results in polls to qualify for the debates, but they aren’t included in many polls and most mainstream news outlets don’t give them the light of day. How are you supposed to get 15% in the polls when almost no one knows you’re even running for president?
 
I think RFK Jr. has some whacked out ideas, but it would be very interesting if he were up there. It’s too bad we haven’t had a serious third party contender in so long. I actually think that Gary Johnson in 2016? wasn’t bad, but the media had it out for him had effectively killed his chances after a gotcha question was painted into a major gaff.

I think most of us can agree that the two party system (duopoly) we have in the U.S. is super fucked, but it’s not changing anytime soon, unfortunately.

Pardon my ignorance, but does anyone know when this record is actually going to drop? I think it’s safe to say this month isn’t going to happen (despite articles and even this thread title  still saying September 2024), but are there are concrete updates, other than unspecific clues or vague remarks made in interviews?
 
Is this a situation where it will be kicked down the road indefinitely and just randomly drop with little to no notice?

How much you wanna bet she doesn’t change the setlist much? Like I’m sure she’ll do a few country covers and probably sprinkle in a Lasso tune or two, but I lowkey don’t think it’s going to be a drastically different playlist.

Tbh I feel like she’ll have to add dates in the Midwest and south esp for lasso! She seems to only want to do one festival for California/the entire west coast so I wouldn’t be that jealous

Just to add a little quick context. Elon Musk fired all Twitter employees in Brazil. It is our law that every company must have a representative in the country for the company to operate and Musk refuses to indicate them. Furthermore, they refused to remove content from fascist accounts, fake news, apologies for Nazism, etc... To inflate the far right, they claim censorship, but there is nothing like that! (Don't fall for this narratives). It's just the stupid ego of a pathetic billionaire who thinks he can override a country's laws. And I'm not even going to get into the merits of him wanting our resources and spy...
