  1. Had to go back and find this thread to add that the entire bridge of "Hollywood" is one of Lana's best musical moments. It's so ethereal and perfect, I can't even put it properly into words.

    Charli XCX

I heard it on the radio at someone's house the other day as well - and it was at a party so it was hilarious I was just bopping in the corner by myself and no one else knew what song it was

    Dua Lipa

that is literally her worst music video ever. So disappointed. Why would she even waste her budget on this mess?
  4. I think this post confirms what we were discussing earlier in terms of her political affiliation. I'm guessing this is another hint that she's more of a Democrat than a Republican. After all, Trump was all for the pipeline being built, while the Obama administration just made the opposite decision. This post is a pretty clear indication that she sides with the Democrats on most issues. This also reminds me of the "love casinos, Indian reservations" line from AKA, as well as her claims that she used to work amongst Native Americans in rehabilitation and whatnot. Good to see she's still passionate about defending the rights of the indigenous.
  5. saaaaaaameeee. Queen of communicating to her fans through an altered state of consciousness

    Britney Spears

omg same. I used to think Britney was just another generic pop singer but a few months ago I discovered how amazing she actually is, and I didn't know that she had so many bops!!
  7. Apart from Swan Song (which I love), I agree. Chuck Radio in there too, I find it overly-repetititous.
  8. the album as a whole drags on and half the songs sound exactly the same. The only songs that have really got my attention so far are Party Monster, Starboy, Stargirl Interlude, False Alarm, Sidewalks and I Feel It Coming. The rest are pretty mediocre in my view... might grow on me though
  9. Omg guys I just realized what that "solve et coagula" bio reminds me of... it's of the lyric in Music To Watch Boys To: "no holds barred, I've been sent to destroy". Queen of foreshadowing her next album before it's even out
  10. Omg those strings Y'all get ready for Lana's magnum opus coming 2017

I hope it gets new production as well then (kinda sick of its production at the moment )
  14. To block quote you just press the "quote" button then erase all of the bits you don't want included anymore "Rabid"?? I don't see how his views are extreme at all. They are just common sense, progressive ideas. Nothing extreme about them. And to compare them to the religious right is ridiculous. The religious right have members that openly encourage conversion therapy for LGBT people and electroshock therapy, do not believe in freedom of religion and are discriminatory, sexist, homophobic and xenophobic. Bernie is none of these things. He has been fighting agains all of this. I don't see how that's extreme at all. Same old, same old? He is literally the most progressive American politician... doesn't sound very same old, same old to me. And he is just not in support of the male white worker -- if you follow his social media you will see that he has been posting non-stop since the election about how we must stand up for the Latinos, the Muslims, the African-Americans and all the other minorities who have been picked at by Trump's campaign.
  15. Thank you for your insight. You are very knowledgable in politics. Have you studied it in the past?
  16. Unfortunately I don't have time to respond to everything you have said, because I have a lot of work to be doing right now and I also believe that some of your points have practically no relation to what I actually wrote, but I will try and respond to some of the main things you've said. Well, I believe that with the right leader and vision, the fight is worth having. It is better to try and make things better but only succeed on a certain level than to not try at all and achieve nothing (meanwhile, let people like Trump make things even worse). And what does the size of America honestly have to do with the effectiveness of Bernie's vision? And I'm sorry... I do not support Trump whatsoever, but to make such unsupported claims that he rigged the election is just as absurd as Trump's rhetoric himself. He won fair and square, just the way that every other President has won throughout history. I understand that Hillary won the popular votes but considering the role of the electoral college, Trump won. To refute that is just as bad as Trump refuting the legitimacy of Obama's birth details. Thank you for the correction. I am currently studying the impact of Nazism in Germany for a History assessment I have so I'm guessing that's how that falsity made it into my writing. Still, it is not a very just democracy considering that Putin could easily be considered a dictator. Of course the third party votes undeniably had an impact on the election, but ultimately it was placing Hillary in the position of Presidential candidate that actually lost the Democratic votes, since so many Democrats were not willing to vote for her because of her history of corruption, greed and inconsistent policy. Doesn't care for the poorest? How on earth can you even make that sort of claim without some kind of logical explanation. If he doesn't care about the poor then tell me something he's said/done that indicates so. And also... do you even know what Bernie stands for??? He wants a trickle-down economy like Reagan?? Um... no he DOESN'T. I recommend you watch this short video from 2015 where he literally criticises the entire idea of trickle down economics AND even mentions how Ronald Reagan advocating for it was a failure. So don't come for him saying he supports something that he doesn't at all... I do not hate Wall Street and I do not hate people who are rich. If I did, I wouldn't be on this website, considering that Lana's net worth is at least $8 million... All I am saying is that Hillary has a "private and public position on Wall Street" (an exact quote by her), which clearly shows where her interests truly lie. Can you please define what you mean by a normal protester and a "major protestor". As far as I'm aware, if he was protesting in the 60s then that to me is a clear indicator that he has supported women's rights throughout his political career.
  17. I never said anything about there needing to be news, I was just talking about her next album And that's fair enough if you disagree and think that she's not trying anything new for the next record... I personally disagree as I think every album she has ever put out has been completely different to its predecessor. I already explained my reasons as to why I think that.... She has changed up her show by adding back up dancers and choreography and switching around some of her songs (like today she just sung Old Money, which she has only done at a few select shows) + has been working with people other than Rick and is probably aware of the common opinion that many of her fans have that her next album should be something with a bit more energy than HM. All of these factors, to me, give me hope that she will not put out another album in the vein of Honeymoon. Also, I never said that I thought she was still working on the album, as for all we know, it could certainly be finished at this stage, but the fact that she has been waiting and hasn't said anything yet indicates to me that she is waiting for the right moment because she wants this next era to be special. And again, I didn't say anywhere in my post that she needs to go for #1 singles. I completely agree with you in the sense that she should be working towards putting out great music over being commercial, all I was saying was that she needs to create good music that is different to what she has already put out.
  18. On the flipside though, this does probably mean she's taking her time with LDR5 and we can at least hope that the next record will be something new and exciting that she's put heaps of time into. One half of me wishes she had teased something but at the same time, the other half of me is kind of glad that she is truly taking her time with this record to make sure it is perfect. As much as I personally love Honeymoon, realistically, it was a bit of a rushed effort which she put together within a very short period of time, which is why the album has a very similar soundscape all the way throughout and kind of plods along with the same tone for most of the record. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound that Lana created on Honeymoon but a lot of people didn't, and if Lana really wants to keep her fans interested and the critics giving her good reviews, she is going to have to try something a little bit different this time around... and I really have faith that she is aware of this and wants to ensure that she won't disappoint. She was open to changing her show a bit, what with adding the backup dancers and the choreography and switching a few of the songs on the setlist, and I am SURE that she has read the countless criticism that half of y'all that people have been giving her online telling her to do something with more energy, so she has probably got the message by this point. Plus, she has been spotted with different producers/writers other than just Rick (such as Justin Parker, Emile Haynie, Jonathan Wilson), so that's a good sign that she's collaborating and getting other people's input, so she could be going for something different this time.
  19. Yes, I agree completely 110%!! Bernie's political ideology is modelled around that of the Scandinavian systems, which by the way, literally have the highest rankings on indexes measuring gender equality and treatment of minorities, equal wealth distribution, happiness ratings and so on (Trust me, look up any international research on these things and I can guarantee they will all be high up in the lists). It only makes sense to try and replicate their progressive systems considering how effective they are! They have the best standards of living and stable economies with low crime rates. I'm sure you've all heard the saying that a team is only as valuable as its weakest player, well... I think it definitely applies in this situation: a society is only as good as its treatment of its outcasts. Take Iceland for example, there have NEVER been "official cases on discrimination in employment" based on LGBTI identity throughout its entire recorded history. Why?... Because their political system is progressive and works to protect the rights of all people. Heck, they are the ONLY country in the world to have had a LGBTI president... AND she was a female (for anyone who is interested, her name is Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir). According to a recent 'Gay Happiness Index' conducted around the world, the top four places in the world for LGBTI people were Iceland, Norway, Denmark and then Sweden... ALL Scandinavian countries with the same ideology that Bernie is trying to implement into American politics. Of course, life for LGBTI people is not the only thing that makes a good country, but I am using it as one of the many examples that show how this system that Bernie is trying to bring to America really works... And it is a proven fact, not an opinion. They are ranked as the best countries in the world in the majority of studies highlighting practically every social, cultural, economic and political measure. So people can continue supporting the outdated ways of the establishment and nothing will ever change, or you can be a part of Bernie Sander's political revolution which has the potential to literally change all of America for the better, if only people would look at the facts that show he is supporting the most effective political ideology in the world. And I am sick of hearing people call Bernie a 'communist'. Yes, he is a socialist, but socialist =/= communist. They are two different things. Communism is a radical form of socialism. If you want that, go to China or Vietnam or Russia. Bernie is advocating for a system like Iceland, Denmark, Sweden which are all democracies, much more similar to the US political system than that of the aforementioned communist states.
  20. I am shocked to have to witness all this outrageous anti-Bernie splutter .... so it's not ok to make a negative comment about Hillary or Obama because neither of them are going to be president 2017, so it's "irrelevant" but it's ok to bash Bernie Sanders, who ALSO won't be President 2017...?? Hypocritical much... These are the most ridiculous claims. You have to actually provide your evidence as to why you think these things. Bernie is one of the most progressive Democrats out there, how on earth is he a part of the "anti-women club"... can you please link me to something he has actually said or done that was misogynistic?? And Bernie is one of the few politicians still out there today fighting against Trump's rhetoric, standing up for the minorities in America. Don't get me wrong, I love Hillary and I think she would have made a far better president than Trump, but when Bernie had criticized her in the past, it was over her connections with the establishment and Wall Street (after all, she did say she has a "private and a public position" on Wall Street). Bernie has been fighting for equality and the rights of minorities since he entered the world of politics. He has remained consistent in his views throughout the course of his entire career, whereas it seems Hillary only seemed to really care about all of the minorities just as she was running her Presidential campaign. (I'm not saying that she doesn't care about minorities, but simply that she only really stressed the importance of their rights in the years preceding her campaign).
