Although I don't agree with all of your opinions regarding individual songs (for example, I think Million Dollar Man is actually one of her best songs), I still do think you make a very great point. Honeymoon is her most stable album in the sense that every song is amazing. There isn't a single song I tend to skip (well, except for DLMBM, but that's only because I like having Swan Song end the album). I feel as if Honeymoon is strong all the way through, while all of her past albums have songs that I feel like I should be skipping. And I do agree that normally the first halves of her albums are better than the second halves. Actually, even on Honeymoon, I think the first half is my personal favourite compared to the second, but I can still appreciate the entirety of the second half, if that makes sense. For me, Born to Die definitely goes downhill after the first few songs, then there are only a few more songs that I can bear listening to every time. Most times, I skip about half of BTD (Part of the reason I do this might be because I've heard them a billion times so some of them have gotten old), but still I think BTD fluctuates from good to bad songs the most out of all of her albums. It has some of her absolute best songs ever in my opinion (Born to Die, Off to the Races, Blue Jeans, Million Dollar Man, Summertime Sadness, etc.) but also some of her absolute worst for me (Diet Mountain Dew, Radio, Carmen and so on). Ultraviolence is great the whole way through in my opinion, and much like Honeymoon, I rarely feel like skipping any tracks. Although, it's quite clear in my opinion that the first half is far superior to the second (West Coast, Ultraviolence, Brooklyn Baby, Shades of Cool, Cruel World, and so on are just perfect in my eyes, while the second half, while still being amazing, just doesn't live up to the flawlessness of the first half). I definitely think Honeymoon is great in the sense that unlike her last few albums, it feels brilliant all the way through, and my favourite tracks are equally distributed on other end of the album, while with BTD + UV all my favourites seem to be on the first halves. Still, all amazing albums in their own way. In fact, UV is still my favourite, but I definitely think HM is better in terms of its brilliant tracks distribution.

Hey everyone, so as you probably know, there has been a user on Instagram named @china.palace that has been pretending to be a Lana insider. Well, good news... a user by the name of @honeydelgrant finally found the person who owns the account. His name is @ Jorge.Marques He has denied that he is the user, but it's blatantly obvious he is the same person! @honeydelgrant easily proved it... He posted a video to his personal Instagram scrolling through his YouTube history, which included every video he has ever posted on his account!! That video is now deleted but @honeydelgrant recorded it. He also created a vk.com/chinapalace page linked to his Instagram, and his details show that he is from PORTUGAL... so there is no way he is a Lana insider! He even writes the exact same as China does... He also keeps denying that he is China but he has never been able to justify why he is not China. In fact, if he wasn't China he wouldn't even know what is going on, but instead, in some posts he knows exactly what is going on, while in others he pretends he is confused. Someone who legitimately wasn't China would NOT respond in the way he does. Everything about his responses seems suspicious. Here are just some of the ways he replied, which in my opinion, indicate he is definitely China... Also, in this one, he has hinted that there are two others who run the account as well. Neither I nor @honeydelgrant said anything about people named "Nathan" or "Gabriel", yet he just spat out their names, which shows he knows something we don't, so he must be China! Now I know you might be annoyed I made this thread, because most of us have known China was a fraud since the start, but now that we have hard proof that the account is run by a deceitful fan, we can expose the facts and stop people from falling from the trap of believing the account is run by Lana or a friend. The sad reality is that if you go to any of China's posts, there are still soooo many people asking for songs, for info, and so on. And china still has thousands of followers that believe him. Please help me expose China for the fraud he is. Share the news! This must end!

TMZ: Lana gets restraining order on 2 fans from Russia.
delreyfreak replied to Say Yes to Heaven's topic in Latest News
Ok sorry everyone for that post I made, I didn't think it would matter if I posted a screenshot of an image a woman has chosen to PUBLICALLY display and share online with her FULL NAME next to. Anyway, I apologise for using that woman's profile image here, maybe I shouldn't have made that post, I just didn't think it would matter since it was information she had put out there herself. If you really think that one comment on a mostly inactive thread would start to be spread around as fact, then you're maybe as crazy as you think I was for what I posted. Unless some crazy person like @china.palace started posting about having "insider info", I highly doubt that my post would have spread very far, IF ANYWHERE other than this thread. And yes, I saw how you edited my quote. I don't understand how you could think what I wrote was a delusion. I know I have an overly imaginative mind so perhaps I just have a natural tendency to connect things that other people wouldn't see as having any relevance. Regardless, I never said that image was 100% one of the women mentioned by TMZ, in fact, I stated it was more than likely a coincidence she was wearing a similar ring to Lana, but I just felt like sharing my findings for interest's sake! All I did was make a simple innocent assessment of a woman's Facebook profile that COULD HAVE had relevance to Lana's case. Anyway, forget I ever said anything. I suppose you can't make a harmless post around here without someone calling you delusional. -

Why? Because she doesn't fulfill your selfish expectations. I know it can be frustrating that she doesn't do much promo and she doesn't tour much (if at all), but saying you'll unstan is just pathetic. Shouldn't the fact that she puts her everything into her music be enough for you? Gosh, she's only human at the end of the day, and she releases an amazing album every year, and that's pretty spectacular in my eyes, considering most major label artists take 2-3 years to do what she achieves in one. Yes, they promote their work more and tour more and whatnot, but most of those things are redundant in the long run anyway. Besides, new music can reach everyone, a tour only reaches a certain number of people.

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
delreyfreak replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
The album's also been out for more than a year. If you wait another year for Honeymoon and then compare the stream count to the current numbers of UV, they'd probably be similar?? -
I think it's about time we deactivate this thread, I can't see anything coming from it anymore

Lana's streaming power (UPDATED, July 2016)
delreyfreak replied to PARADIXO's topic in Lana Thoughts
WOAH, good job on this thread! I can't believe anyone would be this dedicated to such calculations, lmao. Thank you!! I've found these figures quite interesting, so thank you. Such a shame to see some of my faves with the lowest stream count though Like another user said, it's also crazy to think how these numbers are technically even larger than they seem. I know this is just a stream count, but imagine if it was possible to add up all the times someone has bought it and played it in their iTunes, I'm sure the list would increase dramatically also. Quite amazing thinking of Lana's power really!! -
Not as far as my parents have told me, lol. But I made it very clear that I can't miss more than a few days because everytime I miss like one day of school I fall sooooo far behind it's tragic.

What musical direction should Lana go in for LDR5?
delreyfreak replied to ilovetati's topic in Lana Thoughts
Is it bad that I could actually imagine Lana singing a slowed down, stripped back acoustic version of Roar with intense strings, jungle drum beats and violins à la Music To Watch Boys To -
I definitely remember telling you at least once last year like around September (??) I'm going in April for 2 weeks, it's around the time of the cherry blossoms, so we're hoping we'll see some, although it's hard to plan for because every year they bloom at different times so it might be too early or late but most sites say you can usually spot a few here and there even if they're not all in bloom. I think we leave on the break between term 1 and term 2. I'm so excited, it's always been one of my top "want to go to" places. I LOVE Japanese food so much and I love how it's such a modern country but at the same time the people are very in touch with their traditions and cultures, it's like a blend of past vs present. Omg I'd better stop now, it sounds like I'm reciting Burnt Norton

I think that this was a brilliant, creative idea for a thread and I would love to contribute, but honestly, I'm struggling to link the songs to the types. I think the individual songs don't reveal enough to link to each of the functions. Introverted/Extroverted tends to be easy. Intuitive/Sensing is also not too difficult, as you can focus on whether the lyrics are straightforward or hint at something much deeper. For example, a song like "Brite Lites", in my opinion, would definitely be a Sensing type, it's not very intuitive, it's there to simply paint an image of a broken young girl and her desire for fame. The lyrics are repetitive and too straightforward. T/F is easy to distinguish for some songs, but difficult on others. And J/P is nearly impossible to deduce from songs alone.

Super excited for her 2016 releases. I love Vroom Vroom and I think that if she truly goes down that Japanese influenced pop sound she talked about in a few interviews earlier on, I will love it! I am also going to Japan next year so it would be a perfect accompaniment to my holiday haha. Ideally I am hoping for some True Romance style melodies placed against some Japanese pop production to top it off.

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
delreyfreak replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
At the moment 24 is my least favourite tbh, it's like a watered down Million Dollar Man with unfathomable, nonsensical, just mere stupid lyrics... "there's only 24 hours in a day" like thanks, hun, I don't know about you, but I've known that since I was about 5 The other thing that annoys me about 24 is the "give me your diamonds" line, because it completely contradicts the theme of criticising fame/glamour and so on, which is so prominent throughout the album in basically every other song. It just feels so out of place after Religion, where she says "it never was about the money or the drugs". Idk, 24 just doesn't really interest me that much melodically either. like, it's a nice song but for me it's kinda just meh compared to every other track -
Surprised there isn't a thread for this, so here we go! Rank each song from AKA from best to worst. Here is my ordering: Put Me in a Movie Yayo Mermaid Motel Smarty Oh Say Can You See Jump Brite Lites Pawn Shop Blues Queen of the Gas Station Gramma (Blue Ribbon Sparkler Trailer Heaven) Kill Kill Raise Me Up (Mississipi South) For K Part 2 Now share yours!

Ummm yeah, because I am still allowed an opinion on those topics. I was just saying that the discussion was off-topic, and I tried to bring the topic back to what it's meant to be. And yes, I liked your posts because I agree with your general viewpoint, but that's irrelevant now

?? How ?? Literally this thread turned into a "Who is better... Melanie or Troye?" and "let's debate Ellie Goulding" thread (which, the latter, by the way, is completely off-topic) And this wasn't even directed towards you, since you weren't one of the people arguing, so I don't know why you are offended? And I don't know why you are coming at me for such a harmless post, that was on topic and in no way was intended to cause drama?? And how on earth was that attention seeking? It's a fact that people were arguing (go back and read the posts if you don't remember!) Besides, if anything was unnecessary and redundant, it was your post, which has added absolutely NOTHING to the conversation about Troye

Oh ok, that makes sense. It does have a jazzy sort of feel, especially with that trumpet throughout. Thanks for explaining to me!

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
delreyfreak replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
Sis... most songs have an identical structure to what you described. Literally the first three tracks on Honeymoon have that structure too. Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't have a proper chorus, it's just made of several verses with interludes bridging them together. Oh yes, that too! -
If y'all wouldn't mind me interrupting your petty little arguments, I made a lyric video for "Swimming Pools" and I thought I'd share it here for anyone who may be interested Let me know what you think!
-
Surprised at the lack of votes for Smarty. It's a very solid song and Lana's voice sounds so cutesy and beautiful, don't know how anyone could not love this one. Although, I suppose there are just too many other perfections on this album!

Rank Honeymoon Tracks from Best to Worst
delreyfreak replied to delreyfreak's topic in Lana Thoughts
Your list SO similar to mine. I am actually surprised someone else has ordered everything very similarly to me. Honeymoon is one of my faves, I can't believe people put it right at the bottom
