I have absolutely loved this album. Not even Chromatica, which I liked, got me replaying like this. This album actually has a lot to offer, it has all the soul and meat and dynamics that Chromatica lacked. This is the vocal album by Lady Gaga; her voice is at the forefront, not only in the mix but in what this album has to give. She sounds fucking phenomenal, this is the best she's ever sounded because it's the perfect balance between all her incredible technicity and raw, emotional vocals. You can feel how much she enjoyed making this, and how it's full of different moods and emotions and how she was able to portray that.
The instrumentation is rich, grand-- definitely her biggest traditional/jazz project. There are so many crazy moments. And the mixing, production? It's all so well-done. It's also very visual, I totally see this as a golden age play with lots and lots of dancers and amazing costumes.
Favorite moments:
The music in World on a String
The entirety of That's Entertinament. Wheww I couldn't stop being amazed by this one at first listen
What she did to Smile. Just wow
The choir and the drums in Folie a Deux
Happy Mistake bridge and overall melody
THAT'S LIFE!!!!!! How fitting to close with this song... oh Gaga
Not necessary to mention that she sounds astonishing in all the above songs... and there are so many others where her voice alone make a favorite for me. Close to You, If My Friends Could See Me Now...
My favorite right now is That's Life.
Thank you Gaga
And thank you Tony.

Why do people lie about stuff like this? You crave attention that much? Not only is is frustrating as a fan to get your hopes up and have them dashed like that, it’s also particularly rude in this instance. Especially on her birthday. Have some respect.

Before you guys believe this, this person has consistently spread fake rumours on Reddit and Discord throughout this entire campaign. They also harassed a reputable insider that they thought was SOPHIE's brother begging them to release Europe For The Summer. I think they're a kid tbh.

Hello KitKats and sane users of Lanaboards, I come with yet another exclusive abloom review and inside-her tea for y'all, this time on one of my most anticipated releases of the year.
CRUSH: I think you've all heard the chorus of this, but the verses are at least listenable. It's a synth driven, thumping dance track. She's serving a high, girly voice - a flirtatious vocal performance which I prefer to her belty shtick or "sexy, c*nt-fident" vibes. Although the lyrics sound like they were written by a teenager, even more than the rest of the alboom. 2/5
Even all the birds are singing
Yeah I, I got those palpitations, those boom-boom-booms
I'm on a new vibration
Yeah I, I need some medication, your ooh-ooh-ooh
I need no explanation
Is it a crush, making me blush?
ARTIFICIAL: This sounds like a Kim Petty song (just like the rest of the album), it has a similar vibe to brr/BAIT. There's a darker hyperpop sensibility that Katy tries to pull off but fails. I guess it's not too far from some of the urban/r&b leaning songs she tried to do before, but her cringe vocal performance and personality prevents any sort of cuntiness from being served. And yes it sounds like Gorgeous too, which we've all unfortunately heard bits of. 1.5/5
Artificial, say what you're thinking
Do you put emotions over reason
Are you gonna love me like a human
Can you touch me in a simulation
Who's gonna save us from losing our minds
Oh you're so dangerous, devil in disguise
TRUTH: This one is extremely, disgustingly boring. This is my least favourite as it serves the most filler on an alboom full of fillers. I truly believe she AI'd this one, because there's no other reason why pop music is being desecrated like this. 1/5
You treat me different
Tell me what's going through your mind
You act so distant
Who you see when you close your eyes
I wanna know the truth, even if it hurt-hurts me
ALL THE LOVE: Yet another cheesy, empowerment style song with a dancier mid-tempo production. I'm honestly out of words to describe them at this point, as nothing new is being offered to my ears on this repetitive, saccharine, almost AI'd journey. I can't decide if Truth or this one made me plead in agony, "Katy Perry please stop." 1.5/5
WONDER: This one sounds like a classic Stargate song, there's a euphoric euro-pop quality to it. This is the least offensive out of everything I've heard and it would have probably smashed in 2013. Acoustic guitars on the chorus, synth driven, thumping beat, it's a nice listen and a cute song for her daughter. But nonetheless extremely dated and nothing new from the queen of cheesy empowerment songs. 2/5
Be heavy on your wings
Stay pure, beautiful girl, woah
Don't let the fear in the world
Burn out what you believe
Cause one day when we're older
Will we still look up and wonder?
Overall, an incredibly generic and dated offering with the most surface level lyrics you could ever dream of. Each song sounds like a copy-paste of one another with minimal variations, sometimes she tries to serve "c*nt" on songs like Artificial and falls flat on her face. Though I think her fans will enjoy and hype mid tracks like Crush and Nirvana (the latter being my 'favourite'), there's zero artistic growth being displayed on here. She is phoning it in and pandering to gays on demos that were probably leftover in Ava Max and Kim Petras folders, in a desperate attempt to revive her and Dr Luke's career. I genuinely think there are much better cuts on Whiteness and Smile, while 143 is exactly the musical junkyard that we were promised with Woman's World.

Message from her family:
“Music and the future were always at the centre of Sophie’s world. From a very young age Sophie was taken to music festivals and raves, and it was the electronic sounds and futuristic rhythms of mainly underground dance music that really appealed to her. She was greatly influenced by the early work of artists emerging at that time such as Orbital, Moby, the Prodigy, as well as some more established acts like Pet Shop Boys and Kraftwerk. Those formative memories continued to inspire Sophie throughout her life and her own career.
As her love of electronic music continued to grow into her teenage years, she began to focus on her own experiments in music making. Especially drawn to synthesis, Sophie spent many years honing her skills; pushing the limits of what was possible, striving to create the shiniest, most metallic snares and the bounciest, bubbliest bass sounds. Moving into the 2010’s Sophie wanted to create something new and futuristic sounding, while maintaining her energy and endless sense of fun, something severely lacking in dance music at the time. These experiments culminated in Sophie’s seminal collection of singles ‘PRODUCT’.
While touring her own sets, as well as starting to produce pop music for other artists, Sophie and friends began developing ideas for her next era. With it she would introduce a more performative element. Until that point a publicly shy and retiring figure, Sophie emerged from the shadows with the ‘It’s Okay to Cry’ video. With the subsequent ‘Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides’ album and corresponding remix album and live shows, Sophie lets us into her world more, as we travel through space and time on a sonic adventure.
SOPHIE, the self-titled follow-up album, though always intended as a more accessible, more ‘pop’ sounding record, undoubtedly maintains Sophie’s uncompromising and infinitely ambitious outlook. Made with her brother and many of her closest friends and collaborators, the album sits somewhere between a SOPHIE live show in the clouds, a massive party in her recording studio and the sweatiest club you’ve ever been to hosted by SOPHIE and friends.
The future has always been a big part of Sophie, and we hope Sophie continues to be a big part of the future. As always with Sophie, exactly what comes next and what shape it takes remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, there is a lot more still to come.”
