The way I received it, already cut up, has the Grins intro as a How Can I outro. Never even realized this until I listened to True Romance a bunch of times
  2. Oh, they're also selling the single from the deluxe edition, that's why it's double charting. Shit, I wish they'd combine, the second is #141 in the US.
  3. I wonder if it'll be the same instrumental and everything. Break My Fall is so good so I will probably still only use Lana's version, though

    Grimes

I mean that probably means you don't have any hope in liking her, it's one of the more accessible songs. Otherwise, Be a Body and Oblivion are pretty good.

Lyrics! Mad disappointed she says "wasn't looking for a thug" rather than "fuck" in So Far Away.
  6. Ride deserved it more, beautiful flop

    ...of Kate Nash?
  8. All of this makes sense. On the flip side, it could be about Barrie because he plays for her at his shows and I can't imagine she's writing the song without relationship permanence in mind--i.e., growing old with someone. She's currently with Barrie and it sure doesn't seem like she's just passing the time until she gets to heaven and reunites with K. This is pretty much the same reason I doubt that Bel Air is about K. It seems like she's moved on, although she continues to honor lost love. I can see why Blue Jeans or Dark Paradise would be about K because she wasn't necessarily in a relationship at the time. Who knows, maybe if her and Barrie broke up, she'd continue to sing about how that dead man was her one true love (evidently similar to the subject matter she returned to post Mike, etc, breakups).

Definitely see Kate Nash inspiration in "Chas' Song" and "Mauritius"--I keep singing both in my head with the "Birds" melody.
  10. It's coming! Is August still a safe estimate?

Oh cool! Definitely something new. Can't really understand what, though. Man, that was a really good performance. And she looks so good. Very very proud.
  12. Her unreleased sounds the same, too I'd argue Lana's released efforts are more interesting. Not to say every song on either of Lana's albums are better than anything on Florence's. Perhaps "Over the Love" is better than "Young & Beautiful". (I'd put "Blinding" ahead of a lot of Born to Die because every now and then she just is that good.) But lola's comment and your follow-up pushed us into the dangerous territory of comparing them in their entirety, something I'm not really in the business of. However, I do think Flo is suffering a tad from overexposure. I know what to expect from her nowadays, especially on a soundtrack contribution (f'real, look at her soundtrack songs, there's a pretty obv formula people go to her for). Lana still manages to throw me off with stuff like Summer Wine and Cola. Not sure if I'm making a point or just discussing. I'm dizzy.

I can't imagine her changing that much, but the exterior is certainly part of a character--she even admitted to it, with some reply on twitter that I can't find that says something like "at least I created it". The more exposure she gets, the more I think she's opening up. The Ride video personally gave me a lot of insight. Most of her actions so far seem to be driven by equal parts of mental vulnerability (depression, addiction), love, and ambition.
  14. Big fan of Florence's first album but man she is way more boxed into her sound than Lana is. Might just be the super wide breadth of sounds in all of Lana's discography that's making me say this but I think she has more examples of innovation. Why are we comparing in the first place? Why must artist always be pitted against each other? I hate the internet guys Lemme get back on topic The orchestral bridge is what pushes it slightly ahead of the original version for me
  15. DUKE really wants you guys to know where to get these.
  16. I like how a lot of the people who were praising Video Games in their song of the year lists, et cetera, said it was a statement on relationships in a modern culture (video games destroying relationships) mixed with a sarcastic kiss-off. And it just isn't, according to her. Kind of cool.

"Live Life" is almost entirely indecipherable. I'm afraid there's a lot of question marks and this may not illuminate everything, but whatever, I had to commit. 14 LYRICS: !FRANCHESKAAR! LUCY CHAS’S SONG LEAVE ME I’LL TEACH YOU A LESSON MACHINES SUPERMODELS AND HOLIDAY STUNNERS WATCH THE RAIN LIVE LIFE NEON FASHION AND GLOWSTIX MAURITIUS ALCOHOLIC YET AGAIN 14 LOL at her grammar, will consider doing a revision in English.

Bow to my glasses. Transcribed what I could see of "Lucy". Maybe I'll do more if I wanna keep putting off homework. Even kept the bad grammar. EDIT: Halfway done, I got this guys.

I'm on the 11th. Much luck to both of us Californians snubbed by her headlining tour Gift options: - Neon fashion and/or glowstix - A sandwich that is predominantly cheese - Dinosaurs with genitals
  21. AKA in the style of BTD would probably sound terrible. Imagine "Pawn Shop Blues" done up like "Million Dollar Man" BTD would sound alright because even an LMFAO song in AKA style would sound good. Always particularly fantasized Blue Jeans sounding like Kill Kill. So many acronyms. inb4 Monicker posts a quip about the fanbase thinking of Lana and Lizzy as separate entities.
  22. I'm thinking of doing something like "Dreamland" using that shoot and the three new tracks we've gotten post-Paradise. For wishful thinking that she'll give us more. A good idea. I rearranged so much of my American Dream playlist to fit Chelsea Hotel No. 2 in there, though. Maaaan Could work
  23. Liking for the Joel gif I like it a lot! The backing track is so good and the orchestral version sounds like I might use it even more. It's got that grand, cinematic sound without any Haynie quirks, like a lot of what made Paradise great.
