  1. i thought it was cause she liked spaghetti (with chocolate cake)
  2. Rachen Dolezal receives 50K porn offer from WeFuckBlackGirls.com
  3. that (live) snippet was useless her acapella of west coast sounded like trash compared to the actual thing so i'm reserving judgement until i hear the rest
  4. i'm laughing at the fact that the boots are from a costume shop, rather than an actual shoe store. god i love her so much
  5. that video is giving me such eurotrash vibes like old 70's arthouse porn
  6. oh my god i was wrong and i fucking love her for proving me wrong. my beautiful, unpredictable cunt
  7. maybe they never meant to promote ultraviolence from the start? the label obviously realized how talented she was; not just from BTD but from AKA and all of her unreleased work. they (along with all of her fans) realized that she could literally do any genre naturally and do it well. so they saw her as more of a long term investment. i mean, the bitch writes most (if not all) of her own songs, harmonizes some of her own melodies, and even has a knack for the visual aspect too. most artists can't even do 1 out of those 3. on top of everything, she's probably as marketable as you can get in terms of that face (alone). so much so that it actually caused a backlash against her credibility. so they had to churn out something ~inaccessible~ to fend off all of the retards before they could move onward, financially. and since honeymoon is apparently similar to BTD in terms of sound, i'd assume they insisted on something more palatable so they could promote the absolute shit out of it? seems like a convoluted, yet reasonable plan tbh. unless its just a coincidence that her first single is supposed to drop during the same month as this new service (which i can pretty much assume isn't going to flop)
  8. but lana could prob just stand there and pee on the front row and you'd still consider it a riveting piece of performance art i can see her being a little bitch about the sound or whatever the problem was. she's flipped out twice on stage already (once during the concert and once during rehearsal)
  9. maybe honeymoon will involve like a reversal on her usual themes. about the female (rather than the male) gaze, and how ~life is beautiful~ etc. if ultraviolence is any indication, she writes to mock or fuck with the press (so instead of singing sarcastically about how she fucked her way to the top, she'll sing about how she loves life and totally doesn't want to kill herself, etc) i hope music to watch boys to involves a lot of male objectification. maybe it'll be like a sad, gender atypical version of baby got back lel
  10. i saw that pic the other day and i thought -- is he lowkey feeling for cheek implants?
  11. i feel like chris braide would have been perfect for hunnymoon
  12. i wish she would do more radio shows because those isolated live recordings are sometimes better than the album versions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_85hcBq6NE but it seems even less likely than a TV performance now that she's ridiculously famous. radio promo is typically reserved for lesser known artists, i would think? i'm currently trying to imagine west coast and/or pretty when you cry in that minimalized, studio-type setting and i want to die
  13. http://pitchfork.com/news/59682-lana-del-rey-says-honeymoon-is-coming-in-september/ according to pitchfork via stereogum via reddit via twitter via concert attendee(s)? lel can someone less lazy than i find some video proof pls
  14. best: pretty when you cry worst: flipside
  15. i can't wait for the paradise tour
  16. i love her descriptions too and i think they're perfect for the most part (particularly surf noir, hollywood sadcore, and hawaiian glam metal) but i think some of them are just less about trying to relay a sound to the reader as much as they are about transcribing really personal (and esoteric) connections she's made in her own mind like UV might totally be "blue" to her but none of us could physically, possibly know that for sure since everyone has their own unique set of perceptions
  17. retrofuturism is like the old imagining the new; like living in the 70s but fantasizing about what life would be like 90 years from then. so i'm currently thinking of the jetsons lmao i dunno, that noise-thing at the end of west coast is pretty "retrofuturistic" -- i could definitely see her mixing those elements with a more twangy, pastel sort of sound (i.e "sleepwalk" -- i'm assuming she used that as the tour opening for a reason) oooooooooo
  18. i doubt she pays actual attention to obscure subcultural elements that relate back to her ~sound~ all of her music has been "futureretro" to some degree; mixing elements from different eras / genres etc; we already know by now that she likes to pen these little phrases that don't always mean much of anything like her next album is going to be cunt-wave and the one after that hindi-core and/or math-slut
