I hated the title when she announced it but now it makes so much sense and I don't think any other title would have worked as well to convey the emotions of the record.

Norman Fucking Rockwell doesn’t always connect. It’s one of Del Rey’s sleepiest albums yet, which is saying something, and the music could be trimmed and tightened here and there. And, at times, her references to other pop culture and musical moments can feel too much like a lazy creative crutch (although the couplet “I miss the bar where the Beach Boys would go / Dennis’ last stop before Kokomo” is gold)
 
This was their only "complaint" about the album 

Y'all think in 2022 Pitchfork will do a re-visit of Born To Die and reflect on their terrible judgment of it?

his is the best pitchfork score for a female artist this decade 

I feel like crying. She started the decade being the clown everybody laughed at and now she's among the greatest american writers, and icon of our generation and one of the most influential artists of the century...

Would y'all have thought 6 months ago that we were getting her most critically acclaimed body of work to date? Wow...

I can't see myself going back to LFL as a whole record tbh

I guess my opinion is kinda biased from being a longtime Lana fan but this album is lowkey her best when you consider how much it showcases her growth as an artist. Like how can those personal references in the lyrics and Lizzy Grant vocals not be incredibly sentimental to any Lana stan. It'd be interesting to have a non-Lana fan listen to all of her albums back to back and see if this album is just as remarkable to them without fully understanding all the layers this record has to offer.

Sputnik was a major letdown and I think AV Club won't be nice either

Lana has created her own sonic world and most critics seem able to understand how she has expanded her lyrical perspective outward while remaining true to her aesthetic. And yes, there are a lot of misogynist undertones when describing her appearance and 2012 conspiracy theories about her upbringing as primary criticisms of a 2019 LP.   

who cares about user score tbh for all albums of all artists its always spammed with either 10s from biased fans and 0s from jealous stans of other fandoms. no one takes that score seriously anyway
