The Ultimate, Decade-End Lana Del Rey Ranking (NOW: VIDEOGRAPHY, Vote p.13)

Recommended Posts

80. "Body Electric" (2012)
I'd like to believe the live version is the reason this even had a chance to enter the Top 100.

71. "Million Dollar Man" (2012)
A "Body Electric" situation.

That's right, drag them   :hottie:

I'd like to believe if she ever did 24 live, people would appreciate it more, I think it would sound incredible live

I'm so happy that some underdogs like Carmen, Bel Air and Is This Happiness are hanging in there :oprah:

It would sound great live for sure. All those sustained notes would be great to show off her vocals.

2015 Is Not Getting the Recognition It Deserves

70. "God Knows I Tried" (2015)

The most stripped-back song on Honeymoon is commonly praised for its vocal delivery, deep lyricism and epic melody.

69. "Doin' time" (2019)

Her biggest hit since "Summertime Sadness" had divided fans, but objectively speaking, it's certainly one of her richest productions ever. Sublime approve!

68. "High By the Beach" (2015)

One of her most ambitious songs in her career, the lead single from Honeymoon is still misunderstood by fans. Her best experimentation with trap music, its production even influenced the beats on Kendrick Lamar's DAMN.

67. "Your Girl" (2014)

This Ultraviolence outtake is sensual and fun but has nothing else to offer.

66. "Summertime Sadness" (2012)

Definitely one of her most intriguing lyrics and catchiest melodies ever.

65. "Summer Wine" (with Barrie-James O'Neill) (2013)

LanaBoards has spoken: this is her best vocal collaboration. Its romantic video is an unforgettable moment as a fan.

64. "Swan Song" (2015)

The actual Honeymoon closer has always been a fan favorite.

63. "Money Power Glory" (2014)

This epic Ultraviolence deep cut gave us one of her best performances of all time: Carcassone 2017.

62. "Terrence Loves You" (2015)

This jazzy, post-Barrie tune is a fine example of Del Rey's retrofuturism.

61. "Wait for Life" (with Emile Haynie) (2015)

One of her most dramatic songs ever, "Wait for Life" is officially Lana's best collaboration ever.

60. "The Next Best American Record" (2019)

Be it the Lust for Life or Norman Fucking Rockwell! version, this is nothing but a bop.

I'm convinced there's some private joke that I'm not a part of that qualifies the next best american record as a good song? White Mustang isn't even good but it's the superior counterpart of TNBAR and it had no business being on NFR! as it is without a doubt the weakest track. For it to place above Terrence Loves You is a war crime.

"It's 2011, and we should all be aware of exactly how fast technology is developing" - Lana Del Rey

Before the Top 50

59. "Freak" (2015)

Muddy trap at its finest.

58. "Queen of the Gas Station" (2010)

This Lana Del Ray track is the epitome of the Lizzy Grant aesthetic.

57. "You Must Love Me" (2018)

Her best cover, and LanaBoards agree.

56. "Love song" (2019)

This heavenly Norman Fucking Rockwell! track has gained the attraction of fans ever since its first snippet was released. Not necessarily the ultimate Lana Del Rey ballad, but still one of her most romantic, sincere pieces.

55. "Angels Forever, Forever Angels" (2013)

Some Lana fans have something for monumental songs about freedom.

54. "Hollywood" (2012)

Lana should sell all her pop songs and gain millions with them.

53. "Bartender" (2019)

This witchy piano ballad has attracted a cult-like following since its release.

52. "Mermaid Motel" (2010)

I think we can agree that Lana Del Ray was her most experimental, edgy album production-wise.

51. "Yes to Heaven" (2013)

Another grand, battlefield-ready song.

Love Song not making it into the Top 50 :air:

Today I listened to AFFA and I didn't remembered the track being SO boring and repetitive it's not Top 10 unreleased material at all imho

Fine China made it into the Top 50, poetic masterpiece :legend:

I honestly forgot about Some Things Last a Long Time. It's so beautiful and worth a listen if you've forgotten about it like me lol

It's probably my favorite cover with DT, such a gorgeous track  :flutter:

The Two Most Acclaimed Albums Are Starting to Fight

50. "Carmen" (2012)

We enter the Top 10 with one of the darkest Born to Die tracks. To this day, it's still one of the most Lanalyzed songs in her discography.

49. "Cola" (2012)

The controversial "Cola" has always been a fan favorite until Lana apparently became unable to open a show with another song. Still, it has a place in our hearts (and all over Tumblr).

48. "Without You" (2012)

Despair and sweetness combined in one track.

47. "Sad Girl" (2014)

This sultry Ultraviolence track is the better version of "Your Girl", with actually deep and diverse lyricism and attitude.

PARADIXO's commentary: "Sad Girl" is really one of her fucking best songs ever. The instrumentation is top notch.

46. "Is This Happiness" (2014)

In order to fully understand the dark concept and message of Ultraviolence it is needed to listen to its fantastic bonus tracks. "Is This Happiness" is a must in every depressive playlist.

45. "Kill Kill" (2010)

This mysterious Lizzy song efforteslly found its spot in the Top 50.

44. "Ultraviolence" (2014)

Despite being expanded in later eras, the witchcraft and cult themes have never sounded better than in the multi-layered "Ultraviolence".

43. "American" (2012)

2012 LDR at her most 2012 LDR.

42. "Oh Say Can You See" (2010)

Proof that Elizabeth Grant has been a poet since day 1.

41. "Serial Killer" (2012)

Her most popular unreleased song, it was even performed live countless times.

40. "Radio" (2012)

The most light-hearted Born to Die song is a hit that got away.

39. "Florida Kilos" (2014)

Originally intended for the Spring Breakers soundtrack, "Florida Kilos" is one of the most fun Del Rey songs, but still dark enough to be on Ultraviolence.

PARADIXO's commentary: Perhaps her most overrated song ever.

38. "Norman fucking Rockwell" (2019)

This Grammy-nominated opening track is the very definition of the current LDR soundscape: clever, fun and slightly political lyricism, clear singing-talking, dry yet rich production, a bit of psychedelia and unexpected outros.

37. "Cruel World" (2014)

The most chaotic Lana Del Rey song of all time.

36. "Blue Jeans" (2011)

This classic never gets old and has influenced an entire generation of artists.

35. "Young and Beautiful" (2013)

One of her most acclaimed hits, "Young and Beautiful" is her best soundtrack ever.

So many incredible tracks gone on this batch, except American of course :rip:

Preach. She should've put ITH and Flipside in the Deluxe Version, where they belong and called it a day.
