Wilde_child 490 Posted October 18, 2019 Seriously, do you at least LIKE Lana? It's like you want her to get fucked up so you can say you were right. Stop with the negative criticism all the time. Fucking hell. Um my pronouns are "she", "her", and "bitch". Not "he".
YUNGATA 14,955 Posted October 18, 2019 For what it's worth, I don't really think there should be limits on what can be speculated on. There are topics I personally won't speculate on because i'm either uninterested or think it feels invasive, but an aspect of fame is that you are a spectacle and people will analyse your life. If we start regulating it where do we draw the line? Everyone has has different boundaries and values. Would a zero tolerance speculation policy help or ultimately lead to a dead forum? I'm not really sure, but i'm confident that if this kind of discussion didn't happen on lb it'd happen on twitter or somewhere else. I guess I would recommend deciding where your personal line for speculation is and disengaging from topics that cross it.

Wilde_child 490 Posted October 18, 2019 I think Lana is all right. She doesn't deserve all the hate. I quoted the post coz I wanted to address you about that. I don't know you but can you guys please give Lana some slack? Why on earth would you quote that post to say that? Bizarre. I don't give a fuck about being right. I say what I think. If you don't like it, oh well. You admitted to being biased yourself on the other thread so this is hilarious from you. This thread is out of control, though.

I don't know you but can you guys please give Lana some slack? Yes, I agree. The strange thing is, no one ever claimed people hate him just because he went to a beer festival with her. People just blindly hate everything relating to him because of his occupation lmao. They all want her to get back with Barrie who drank heavily when they were together, but for some reason Lana looking happy and healthy with her current boyfriend & associating with his family at a high school football game is a bad thing. Just because he's Lana's boyfriend doesn't mean he has to refrain from drinking. Lana's 34 years old, a literal grown woman. Not all ex-alcoholics are able to function around alcohol, but it's nice to see that she feels confident enough to (not to mention, every other outing she attends with friends/coworkers who DRINK + clubbing + her own concerts, etc). The girl is around alcohol more often than one would bother thinking about, but because Sean is involved, it's suddenly an issue. No one even knows how long they'll be together for, doubt it'll be a ride or die!!11! thing (or maybe it will lmfao) so why people have a heart attack every time this guy farts is beyond me.
Ivory Cricket 353 Posted October 18, 2019 As someone else posted, we don't know how much he knows about her past. It's not like I've ever told a new boyfriend within the first month or two of dating that I was an alcoholic. To many people, going to a beer fest is a very normal/date type thing too do. I know when I was dating my fiance I didn't disclose it right away and drank lightly when he took me out. Besides all that, we dont know if she drank or not (yet) and even if she did, it's her life. One of the worst things for me as a former alcoholic is that weird stage when your inner circle is low key judging you the first time they see you with a beer in your hand and thinking your going to fall into a relapse and not understanding that you have gotten over it and can handle drinking normally like anyone else again.

Yep! No point perceiving everyone's past vices as the same. Everyone is different. Some people can handle alcohol, others can’t and maintain sobriety, which is more than fine as well. Addicts shouldn't be treated as flower children if they are to successfully integrate into society without spiralling out of control. So many people drink, including many of her friends - she isn't going to avoid them or alcohol fuelled environments for the rest of her life just because she may be/is sober, period. People around her drink, whether it’s her friends/family/partners/people in the industry/her crowds. She’s around it more often than not & for now, seems to have a good handle on it at the moment. I hope that continues, if that’s the case. No one here knows how long she has been drinking again if that is the case and certainly cannot evaluate whether she's "gonna derail, she's fucked!!1!1" or not if she has.

I'm genuinely pleased that your particular drinking issues have moved from being a problem, to you being able to drink socially, while keeping control. I do want to take issue with the idea that addicts who insist on total sobriety are being 'delicate'. For many of us, that look in eyes of our friends when they see that first beer in our hands, is because they know that times are just about to to get very very dark indeed, and that there's at least a year to come of chaos, job loss, relationship destruction and personal devastation. None of this is down to being 'judgy' or pc - just down to experience.
grabmebymyribbons 911 Posted October 18, 2019 Seriously, @RormanNockwell, your points of your speculations that Lana will derail scream confirmation bias. The fact that Rob joined Lana on tour as if he hasn't ever done that to her daughter before? Assuming that dancer's instagram post is immediately about Lana JUST CAUSE you know her as Lana's dancer doesn't mean her lifer revolves around Lana that every shade she throws is immediately about Lana, and the other points @@Valerie has made.. Also really funny back pedalling saying that you don't want Lana to derail since you don't approve of her going to Oktoberfest when literally in the other thread you said so yourself, you're just anticipating the trainwreck. It's obvious you've come to hate Lana and you have all the right to feel however you wanna feel and have opinions but anticipating something bad to happen to her just cause you disagree with her unclear views and stances on politics and shit is really fucking distasteful. I'm glad there's someone here that can call you out. y'all should leave rormannockwell alone. jeez. Can you say the same thing to RormanNockwell with her tirades against Lana too??
