I’ve been so moved and transformed by this album that I still need time until I can make any coherent statements on its superior brilliance that I’ve never found it any other music.

without cutting any tracks where would yall put wellwater? I feel like thatorchia before amber waves is too perfect but putting wellwater inbetween etienne and thatorchia feels like putting strangers between au and televangelism 😭

Firstly, I know nobody cares about my opinion. But, on first listen, this is really enjoyable, but I'm confused who else is liking this. I mean, when pop artists go 'back to the 80s', it usually doesn't mean back to the cassette culture of 1981, where labels like Industrial, Come Organisation and United Dairies would put out random craziness from bands with names like Whitehouse and Nurse With Wound. That is some of my favourite music in the world, but I still get confused when it briefly crosses over. I'm always happy when the dingiest darkest music gets more ears (unironically) listening. Maybe next will be a cover of '150 Murderous Passions'?

I’ve never listened to this type of music before but I really liked it! The first track scared the shit out of me but when I listened it was 5 am and pitch black outside. The album gave me Skinamarink vibes immediately, and that movie freaked me out so I think she nailed the whole concept. I loved Punish of course and also really loved Onanist on the first listen. I need to listen to it a few more times to get into the other tracks. It was perfect to listen to while working.

I usually wouldn’t enjoy this kind of release genre-wise but damn it Ethel made something very special. I really wanted to like this project and I’m glad I did.

I played it in the evening, which was probably the perfect time of the day. I put headphones on and just dissolved into it

Pretentious, tryhard and disappointing. Why did she make it seem like it’s a full song album when u only get 4 normal songs one of which was a single? :tiffany:

she literally said its an EP

I'm currently 5 tracks in, I really enjoy Punish and Vacillator. I don't see myself listening to this EP in full again though.

I was listening to it again on one of my late night walks around my kitchen island where I think and contemplate and got really into it. It reminds me of Silent Hill in parts. Outside of like 3 tracks I’d only really listen to this EP in specific contexts where I plan to actively listen to it the whole way through (Unlike PD which I could put on any time). I think comparing it to PD makes as much sense as comparing an album to a movie or a book, which is why people saying it’s miles ahead of PD (which I’m seeing a lot on twitter rn) is so silly to me. They’re 2 completely different types of projects.

The album is being reviewed on a local radio station this Friday and they write "‘Perverts’ sounds like the soundtrack to a David Lynch film that doesn't yet exist, but in its meditative fullness it contains just as many insights into the human condition as we know from Lynch films."
