Lasso - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

Guys let’s be honest do we think a single for Lasso will come this year??

Nope. 🙂↔️ And it would a bit stupid to release a single for an album not finished plus the 5-6 month waiting period for vinyls to be pressed. We would be in NFR territory again, with a single out a whole year before the album :whoopi:

I don’t think it’d be wise to release a single in December, it wouldn’t get through the buzz of all the Christmas music. I don’t think anything’s coming this month, unless there’s a surprise release and we’ll have to wait months again to hear another single and any news of the album.

if she hypothetically just finished the album and is happy with it, a December single, February single, and April release would be possible...

I thought Stagecoach would be an indicator of the album release… but right now, I don’t think so. I don’t think this album is nearly done. Maybe it will be done for Stagecoach and she’ll perform some songs from it but I doubt we’ll have the album by that time. Hell she premiered a song last June that we don’t have yet on streaming :lmaoney:

I honestly hope we’ll get the «surprises » insiders teased before Lasso. Those could come out almost anytime, but I totally agree with you that a single in December rarely generates a lot of buzz for a future release

December is not such a bad month for a release, Tunnel and Take Me Home were quite successful

i don’t think that’s possible because she mentioned being in a bit of an energetic break last week, when she was at that event. she also said the same thing as in that interview from mid-august (that she didn’t really know where the album was going but didn’t recognize herself in the country element anymore and needed a bit of a break). so it doesn’t feel like she “made progress” (and i’m not saying that she needs to!) in the last couple of months, which is not surprising because she got married lmao. but i think the album is very far from being done; it’s not just that she knows where she’s going and wants to put it into practice, it’s that she doesn’t even really know where she’s going (and she might want to rework stuff again once it’s done)

the other day someone compared her interview that was made in august with the one for V Magazine in early 2022, saying that it sounded like she was at the same point in the creative process as she was back then. we ended up getting ocean blvd one year after that interview (and that was the smoothest rollout since honeymoon)

but at least now we know where her head’s at after months of silence

i think we’ve spent enough time waiting for lasso this year and we might as well expect nothing until late 2025 :awkney2:

Dead Can Dance was a neoclassical darkwave group that made amazing music in the 80s in that style. Their album “Within the Realm of a Dying Sun” is amazing and super influential to other groups who experimented in that style.

Omg! dead can dance is one of the best bands that ever lived.l! Lisa gerrad's voice is out of this world, as is Brandon Perry's musicianship. They were all the rage on the 80s and even 80s, as far as goth and "world music" goes. I find them to transcend any genre and offer cinematic, soul-nourishing music that puts most pop music and radio to shame, tbh. Saw them live once, it was unbelivable.

wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone here! Maybe start with Spiritchaser, their most accessible album. That was my point of entry when i discovered them in the 2000s.

just gorgeous, mind-blowing music from real artists.

I wish i could see them live, i can only imagine the atmosphere of their shows

I'll tell you the gist: your jaw is on the floor for 2 hours. Then you pick it up at leave.

They play like a thousand instruments live, their voices are pitch perfect, and they have the most calm, zen-like energy of anyone you've ever seen. Makes you a better human being just by being there
