guys, i dont think we're getting lasso this year. There's just no reason to move at all.

 

all we have is the speech where she announced it, but that was before she said "i have no idea where lasso is going now"

 

i think we should be happy we're getting Tough this year and celebrate that. Hopefully it's a hit too

Clayton is currently in Nashville (according to his bio), I wonder if he's also involved in some Lasso songs (if Tough isn't one of them), Country seems to be his direction

if the album does actually end up being a country album I have a slight feeling that it wouldn't be a great success.

I just have a feeling that the album would be another COCC: a great album (some absolute bops) but overall ignored by majority of people.

And I'm not hating on COCC, it is one of my favorite albums and neither am I saying that she should be chasing charts but I just wanted to give my prediction on the success of the album.

I would love to be proven wrong tho.

This would be the first time she's announced an album and then scrapped it, no? Rock Candy Sweet became Blue Banisters, COTCC was delayed, but if we really aren't getting any country Lana album, this would be her first "scrapped" album on Wikipedia lol

I’m now in the belief that no album exists at this point. Whatever she was working on the last 4 years has been scraped. Country is not happening. I think any music we will hear in the next year or so is a direct reflection of the fun, easy breezy attitude she’s had the last few months. She’s at the top of her game and I think the music is about to be fresh as fuck.

That was never announced as something she wanted to release though.

 

She brought up the covers record multiple times prior to christmas 2020. I'd also suspect that Summertime was supposed to be part of it.

the cover album we were supposed to get Christmas of 2020 is the only one I can think of that’s actually been ‘announced’ and scrapped. Her and Nikki talked about their joint album but it wasn’t as announced as the cover album. Heck, even Lasso was less announced than the cover album

I always thought Lasso was the continuation of American Standards and Classics, but what if it has nothing to do with that at all and is instead a revival of the mysterious Rock Candy Sweet?

It was strange when she announced this title shortly after the release of Chemtrails for June and then suddenly changed the date and title. It was the same time she split up with her ex Clayton. We never saw the Blue Banisters video of which she showed us a short clip with him.

So maybe RCS had some co-worked songs with him and one could have been Tough or a predecessor. We also know that he created the trap beats for The Trio.

If my theory is correct, we could perhaps expect Loved You Then and Now and some other rumoured outtakes from BB on the album.
