i'm halfway through my first listen and omg this is aoty already, not a single bad song so far, truly the loneliest time prettier and cooler sister

She's gone full Carly Minogue on this one and I'm absolutely delighted by it.

That said, I feel like if I they took a couple tracks from the last album and removed 1 or 2 from this one they probably could've delivered an EMOTION-level LP.

But great effort regardless.

yes, the loveliest time doesn't have a the loneliest time (song), or a shooting star, or a bends, but this album immediately feels more cohesive than the loneliest time, which had higher highs and lower lows in my opinion. kamikaze sounds like she studied at the tove lo and robyn school of serving, the rostam tracks are adorable, the patrik berger tracks are all career highlights, and stadium love to weekend love is the closing song and encore song one-two punch that i didn't know i needed. even anything to be with you, which i despised when it leaked and despised when i pressed play last night, is growing on me even though it sounds like a mess and a half. carly is truly a gift to the music industry and i hope this record somehow reinvigorates her mainstream success even though i know it won't - but a twink can dream!

Kamikaze sounds too much like Fake Mona Lisa to me. I really love Kollage. But the rest are failing to really capture me. All her projects and their twin projects feel like they could have so much fat trimmed off of them to be really enjoyable. I’m definitely more of a fan of the artistic approach of The Loveliest, but The Loneliest is still hitting harder for me.

I was making my bf listen to the new album in the car and he said all her music is boring and sounds the same… I’m like ?? Dude Kollage sounds SO fucking good, especially when stoned. Not sure what he’s on. Whatever. His fave band is Radiohead so sorrrrry not everything sounds like whiny Thom Yorke lmao (I like some Radiohead songs but still)

i feel like the loneliest time is a more demanding listen than Loveliest, but i still love loveliest. i think it just needs to grow on me, it’s more sultry and soft
