simpkinclarke 10 Posted August 16, 2016 Hey, as a vinyl fanatic and collector, I had to have the AKA and Unreleased vinyls even if I suspected the quality would be poor. I was pleasantly surprised that for the price, these vinyls have been pressed by someone who knows what they are doing! I tested the vinyls through multiple digital and analogue equipment (the good stuff from the 70's, like I said, fanatic), and it was clear to me the tracks on each vinyl had been acquired from the original master recording. It is far from uncommon for artists who have strong vision and opinions on their craft to leak their own unreleased material to bootleggers and the internet for keen fans to enjoy. This allows the artist to express their full artistic disposition without harsh backlash from their label or producers. I have all these tracks in the highest available digital copy (iTunes rip of AKA etc) and the vinyl pressing, especially where the Unreleased recordings are concerned, are far superior to their digitally available counterparts. With the volume slider set to max (and that is damn loud with my set up), the tracks were all clear, undistorted, unpitched and cleanly pressed. AKA has a distinct crackling sound throughout the pressing, and I've seen some complaints about this, but that is (in my opinion) one of the detrimental elements of the vinyls overall appeal. At the end of the day, I'm grateful that someone has pressed these vinyls at their own expense and allowed me to experience the novelty of some of Lana's finest works in all their original, untouched glory I know the cover is pretty shitty but in the flesh it isn't pixelated or stretched, just two title errors. Luckily it's cheap as chips to print your own authentic vinyl sleeves using your own HQ design so that's what I wanna do for the AKA and Unreleased vinyl. I think those of you who live elsewhere to Australia are lucky to have access to the picture disks and UO editions. annedauphine 36,601 Posted August 18, 2016 I finally took a pic of my small collection I don't really collect in the sense that I need everything, I just love to physically own what I love so as I'm UV trash I'm trying to get as many things as possible and especially magazines. Not pictured are the blue lyrics book and GQ Germany that haven't arrived yet and I also purchased Clash and the Paradise tour book but they never came :'( My next goals are UV boxset and picture disks, Complex, Galore, AUDIO TECHNOLOGYYYYY and basically everything from UV era!
