CAN we talk about how often I STILL listen to this? The album is magnificent

I don't listen to it every day like I did for a long time, but my itunes plays are almost at 100, which doesn't count listening on CD or friends' copies.

what would've uv sounded like before she had dan auerbach redo it and what will her next album sound like are what I'm wondering it'd b awesome to have emile haynie rick nowels and dan auerbach all work on lana's next album together

It would have been 70s rock-esque a la Angels Forever. I think it would have been too monotonous and derivative of past music. I'm glad Dan made it more dynamic.

I'm hoping that she continued making dream pop or blues rock, but covers new lyrical themes.

Yeah hope she goes full Ride/Flipside kind of music, like heartland rock with americana and LOTS of reverb.

UV probably sounded like a 80s Fleetwood Mac record before Dan came around so actually I'm glad he worked with her.

I bought a pair of Beats by Dre and I just have to say that listening through UV with them is awesome. There's a whole lot I didn't pick up with my other headphones and I wish I had these headphones during my first listen. I couldn't complain if I tried.

Got the album on vinyl since I got a record player for Christmas, and let me just say it is AMAZING. Listening to the vinyl version completely blows the digital version out of the water, I don't know how to explain it but it's magical.

I don't understand why I keep seeing all of this "Ultraviolence flopped" nonsense, particularly from insecure Gaga fans. Lana took a risk with a much less commercial sound and didn't promote the album and it still sold 1.2 million in six months. It was the third best-selling female album of 2014 despite the aforementioned factors working against it. BTD took a year to go gold and UV is almost there. On top of that, it's one of the most critically-acclaimed albums of the year.

I mean, I'll take quality over quantity any day, and I usually listen to stuff that never sells, but it's ridiculous to say this album flopped. When do alternative albums with no big singles ever sell 1.2 million WW? Quality albums stick around for a while and I'm sure this one will continue to inherit the same kind of longevity that BTD has.

THANK YOU!

Also, guys, it took our girl a year to start talking about a follow up after BTD. We've barely had UV for 6 months and Dalai's already recorded TEN demos for her next record, and she seems a lot more confident about making this record then she was coming out of the BTD era. All that promo and PR was just more weight on her shoulders tbh :hooker:
