Okay so I’m gonna clear up some misinformation so everyone is in the know:

this song is sung by Ilsey (Ilsey Juber) she has written a lot of songs including the chorus to High Hopes by PATD (the demo leaked iirc) and All the Time by Zara Larsson

there are 4 versions of this song if I remember. two are solo, one has verses from Charli and the last is one that features Sia. it’s crazy to find out coals was picked up by Rihanna at some point though I’m not sure which version she picked out as reference

anyway here are all the files charli made around the same time cuz hoarding them is pointless lol

Coals Burn Out - Charli, Ilsey & John Hill

Dum Dum Dum - Charli & John Hill

Pop It - Charli & John Hill

What You Do to Me - Charli & Brian Kennedy (this one ended up getting reworked by Stargate in 2017)

Spoiler

Somewhere/Somewhen Charli said something about "simple instrumentation" and minimalism for Brat, and with 360 that statement deffo comes to the table.

The instrumental is giving Windows 95 MIDI maker.

No mean to be a hater or anything because I actually think 360 slaps in it's own way and I got Club Classics, VD, and B2B on my most replayed songs of this year but this album is just shaping to be another Radical Optimism case where Charli misleads people into thinking this will be a 'club' album. I mean yeah I can see this play in clubs somehowish but the club vibes are barely there and as I've seen others point out with Dua's new album, the psychedelic influences are barely there and if you look away for a split second you'll miss them.

We're just getting glossy, polished, plastic pop with tinges of dance music and hell I love it (360 sounds like XCX World which is very bratty in it's own way) yet this seems more in line of a continuation to the $ellout era. This is definitely not what Charli described intially:

evoking the illegal London rave scene where Charli XCX started performing "when [she] was 14 or 15"

the difference being Charli still delivering bops and good quality pop songs whereas Dua is delivering low/mid dated generic quality pop songs after two iconic albuns :toofunny:

even though its not shaping to be a "club album" all these songs are smashes on the club environment like the bass on 360 is iconic by itself, VD is euphoric af etc.

please don't compare that boring redundant pop mess to anything Charli has done or going to do

ok but this would be the first time charli has miss sold a record right ? like she totally has never done that before ? like wasn't crash supposed to be janet inspired

And SUCKER was going to be Indian inspired experimental music and then a punk record!:lmao:

Look, nobody cares. These songs have been bopping... do you have ears? Other girlies aren't releasing anything as exciting? These haters need to get out of this thread and go listen to Taylor Swift or Dua Lipa who are just doing very much of the same as always. :lmao:
