Honeymooner 336 Posted July 29, 2014 I didn't see this song in the Lyrics section, so I started a new thread. In Born To Die, at the beginning, after Lana whispers "Who, me?", there's a male voice that says something... sounds like "Lana" but with a drawl, as if he's calling her name, but I can't tell. Anyone know what he's actually saying?

Thanks for pointing me to that thread... I wasn't smart enough to notice the first time that there were 6 additional pages of the "Lyrics" subforum; I thought it was just one page and didn't see "Born To Die" in there. My mistake. However, that being said... Born to Die samples Long Red by Mountain and the voice says "You out there? Louder!": (the thread already exists btw as the above poster already stated) ...the thread did exist, but it didn't answer my question, so I'm glad you answered it here. But now that I know the additional pages are there, I'll remember to look.

BoardingSchool 2,922 Posted June 3, 2020 When she sings it live, she sings, "let me fuck you hard in the pouring rain" (here for example) ...do we know if that was the original lyric, changed to "kiss" to be "cleaner", or a concert-only thing? Are there any recordings of her (other than concert vids) where she sings it that way? (I thought of it bc of the recent drama where she said she felt she got too much flack if she did really provocative or sexual songs) Edited to add: of course she also changes other lyrics live sometimes, like "you make me feel like home so I tell you you're mine" in this video (I LOVE that) but I mostly wondered if she really wanted to say "fuck" LOL 1 Quote ‘Fucking God bless us all and let’s hope we make it through this.’ ~LDR, Flaunt

Embach 45,086 Posted February 28 The expression "born to die" is equivalent to any type of quote or expression made by Caesar, Cicero or Aristotle or any kind of person from ancient eras. Because it's just that iconic and timesless and makes you think about life a lot.
