Honestly. It was my least favourite full album by Lana at first but it grew on my so rapidly that I may even think of it as her greatest work so far now. It´s just the most Lana Del Rey album she could have ever created. Its so overstuffed with Lanaism to the point that if she makes another album in the same dreamy vein with Nowels it might not work anymore. I mean even this album is too much for some people and wont be probably comercially successful. Despite my love towards LDR I hope she will completely ditch this Lana Del Rey persona next era with her hollywood, glamour and daddy obesssion and come back as Elizabeth Grant. She really needs to change the things up or it becomes pretty tiring and suffocating. Something more intimate, honest and mature. Something in the vein of Destroyer´s last album Poison Season could work. Its described as baroque pop as well.

It would be nice if the eight gapless tracks on the album had a higher volume on the end so we could all notice it without a super high volume, but still, pretty cool!

Swan Song should have been the album closer, so magical and beautiful. You could retire after doing a song like that tbh

but it's called Swan Song. Do you know how much the perfectionist in me would have died if Swan Song was the closer?

 

Take, for example, Jessie Ware's Swan Song. It's track 7 out of 11. It should've been track 10. This gets to me in an unhealthy way

it's a lot more noticeable on the vinyl rip and the cd rip than on itunes, the itunes mastering is kinda messy, they lowered a lot of the instrumentation

I'm gonna listen to the vinyl rip. Also, I noticed that the pitch in Terrence Loves You is like crazy high, it gets to the point of breaking my sound sytem speakers when I listen to it really high, lol

does anyone think Swan Song is in a way a comment on what was suppose to be a duet with Brian Wilson on Last Song (which after hearing Brian sing it and the lyrics, it was obvious no one besides Brian should sing that song, it is totally about him and his brothers and his own life as he is reaching an age where he is contemplating retirement it seems, though someone like him will never retire unless his health forces it)

I still wanted to hear Lana's version of the song and hope one day it leaks.

The two have similar thoughts in a metaphoric way.

When the beat finally drops in High By The Beach I literally die. Its so good. The trap influcence is amazing.

 

I can't wait for Lana to win the award for single of the year
