Monicker 3,035 Posted October 18, 2012 Jesus, when i saw the title of this thread i thought it was going to be, like, scans of track sheets and maybe a video clip of Lana cutting a vocal track, or perhaps Emile doing a mixing session or something. WHAT A LET DOWN. The question for me about possible BTD outtakes is not so much which songs are BTD outtakes, but rather, where are the actual BTD versions (Emile Haynie productions) of these songs because lord knows the versions we have of any possible BTD outtakes were not touched by Emile (or our beloved loon). Man, Madrigal sure does go off the deep end when the Truth becomes threatened. DA FACT POLICE IS IN DA HOUZE, U GUYZ. Madrigal, go invite all the producers to this forum so we can all talk shop, please!! 2 Quote "The limits of my language mean the limits of my world." -Wittgenstein

Madrigal, go invite all the producers to this forum so we can all talk shop, please!! If they came, they'd all soon block me for my incessant questioning. But that said, I would adore hearing how Emile managed to butcher a song such as "Driving In Cars With Boys." I can't even imagine what it would sound like, but I'm sure it would destroy any respect I have left for it. >
Monicker 3,035 Posted October 18, 2012 You have to do it anyway. I have my own questions, you know. I've always wondered if Emile would have done away entirely with the Phil Spector backbeat on DICWB. 0 Quote "The limits of my language mean the limits of my world." -Wittgenstein
Madrigal 2,616 Posted October 18, 2012 I can imagine my conversation with Bernard: "What do you mean, only three hours? You pounded out 'Afraid' in just that much time? Where are you hiding mix 2? Was it based of an acapella she brought in? How did you two work--email, or live together in the studio? WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU CAN'T REMEMBER?!?!?" Yikes.
Sitar 22,214 Posted October 18, 2012 Any guesses as to which versions of songs were on this sampler? The only ones I'm unsure of are Diet Mountain Dew, DICWB, Lolita, and TIWMUG.

We are just as unsure as you. We don't have Liam's version of "Lolita," and I doubt we have the sampler version of TIWMUG. But we have Parker's "Carmen" for sure, if that's any comfort.

sparklrtrailrheaven 9,065 Posted February 22, 2017 Sorry to revive a *very* old thread, but I was wondering if anyone had any more information about this sampler-- this is the only mention I've ever seen of it. I'm thinking about putting in my iTunes because it's a very nice tracklist IMO, but I wanted to make sure it's real and also know what to title it. I'm also curious to see how some of these tracks are titled-- "Paris" vs. "Take Me to Paris", for example-- or "Puppy Love" vs. "Marilyn Monroe", "Kinda Outta Luck" vs. "Kinda Out of Luck", etc. also, not gonna lie, I really admire the research/discovery and collaboration that went on here way back when! it would be nice to see a return to such collaborative information finding and knowledge-building now

Wait, does this mean that there are different versions produced by Emile of all these songs that we have not heard yet?
