latothemoon 11,845 Posted December 27, 2016 Well there are many Born to Die, Paradise, and Ultraviolence outtakes from Lana's unreleased songs. She was working on her first album Lana Del Ray for a very long time and there must be many songs out of her unreleased songs that were considered for the tracklist but did not make the final cut. This is a place to discuss what songs could be outtakes from Lana Del Ray or confirmed to be outtakes. (sorry if there is already a thread for this)

latothemoon 11,845 Posted December 27, 2016 i'm confused. It's a place to discuss unreleased songs that were possibly considered to be on the final tracklist for Lana Del Ray AKA Lizzy Grant, but didn't make the cut.

latothemoon 11,845 Posted December 27, 2016 I think Pin Up Galore and Trash Magic were possibly outtakes, she performed both of them live and they definitely have a similar sound to the rest of the songs on the album.
Say Yes to Heaven 27,514 Posted December 27, 2016 Trash Magic was definitely an outtake. Others might be Get Drunk and Jimmy Gnecco

Say Yes to Heaven 27,514 Posted December 27, 2016 probably Boarding School To me that song has no resemblance to anything on AKA. Lyrics or instrumental
folklore 1,528 Posted December 27, 2016 To me that song has no resemblance to anything on AKA. Lyrics or instrumental Album directions change, keep that in mind. Unless she planned on releasing it as something else I consider it an outtake

Sitar 22,210 Posted December 27, 2016 Anything before the album was completed in 2008 was likely written with AKA in mind, and we even know David Kahne got his hands on some of those songs like Jimmy Necco, Axl Rose Husband, etc. She starts working with more cowriters after Kahne, leading to the mass of unreleased music from 2009-2011, but this is separate even though she released the album in 2010 because she was already branching out trying to do non-AKA stuff. To me, all the studio acoustic and band demos from 2006-08 constitutes as the AKA ~sessions era.

trayertrash 7,210 Posted December 27, 2016 I could see Never Let Me Go on AKA, though, I don't think it fits into the recording dates?
