I lowkey expected the album to be announced on Snapchat but I'm really really happy about this lol

Here's what she said in her monologue if anyone wants it (I think someone asked for it pages ago?):
 
"You know, in this town, an artist really needs a lot of space when they’re trying to create something special. A place to cultivate a world of their own, far away from the real world that’s around them. Luckily for me, I live right inside the middle of the “H” of the Hollywood sign. And this is how I spend most of my nights: perched high above the chaos that swirls within the city of angels below. Now don’t get me wrong, I love to dip my toe into the muck and the mires of the city every now and then. Especially on Tuesdays. But truthfully, when I’m in the middle of making a record, especially now when the world is in the middle of such a tumultuous period, I find I really need to take the space for myself far away from real life, to consider what my contribution to the world should be in these dark times.
  So each morning, I have the luxury of asking myself, “What shall I cook up for the kids today? Something with a little spice? Something with a little bitterness but is ultimately sweet? Or shall I take the day off and turn down the fire, and just take a moment to send my love to them over the ether?” Because sometimes, just being pure of heart and having good intentions and letting them be known is the most worthy contribution an artist can make. So, even though these times can feel a little bit crazy, they’re not so very different from what other generations have experienced at one time or another before. Amidst all the uncertainty, and as we transition out of one era into another one, there’s no place I’d rather be than smack-dab in the middle of “Holly-weird” making this record for you. I was supposed to be doing my college application and financial aid but I can put that on hold so I lose my mind over Lana.

I'm pretty sure the filter shows up for everyone

Okay, I'm actually screaming because a lot of people around my area use snapchat and it would help promote Love a lot. Also my only complaint is, the flowers aren't daisies

Snapchat is a MASSIVE platform. Imagine how many people are gonna be hearing Love today

Oh my god who gives a damn whether you like snapchat or not.
Today is the original date for the release of LOVE so they probably had this planned for weeks as the first listen of the song and this type of promo has been used by a lot of very big artists.
We're also probably getting an interview very soon and the "real" promo is possibly now gonna start since Lana and her team are following the original schedule despite a rushed release. I'm guessing a few radio interviews and maybe even a magazine spread/cover (remember she followed Marie Claire and Harper's Bazaar)

also celebrities will use the filter and post it on their story where they have millions of followers giving the song even MORE exposure

Exactly! Already people I know have sent me snaps with the filter talking about Lana so it is doing a good job at reaching people who don't follow her insta or twitter! This could be a really easy and effective form of promo!

this is great promo because EVERYONE who uses snapchat (158 million people) will hear Love when they use the filter.
 
way better than tumblr or instagram promo since you'd only know about her if you followed her. you don't even need to follow lana to see the filter and hear her song. brilliant

I do consider it promo. How many people use Snapchat? Thousands? Maybe more? So it is definitely something. Plus, remember when Gaga was releasing Born This Way and FarmVille on Facebook played previews of her songs in the background of the game and even redesigned the game to the new album aesthetic (not sure if anyone remembers that though).

A Snapchat filter may not be to everyone's taste but it's still SOMETHING? surely that's better than nothing? And she's just made an account so she obviously does have plans for some form of promo in the future?
