  1. Is the date of the Disco / Marilyn/ For K Pt. 2 performance known? The only info I can find is 2007 but I thought the specific date was known.
  2. Oh I forgot Artillery released a pretty solid album. Tank on the other hand released one of the worst albums I've heard in a while.
  3. This wasn't really the best year metal/rock, but, as an old school trash fan, I've been spoiled the past few years by some of my favorite bands releasing their best albums in over a decade. Here are some things I liked during the year. 1.Sodom - Partisan Without a doubt my favorite metal release of the year. If it weren't for Janelle and Gaga releasing this would for sure be album (well, ep) of the year.10/10 2. Castle - Deal Thy Fate Bandcamp find. Killer album. I liked it the first listen, forgot about it for awhile, but after re-listening to it the past few weeks it's really grown on me. 10/10 https://ripplemusic.bandcamp.com/album/deal-thy-fate 3. Judas Priest - Firepower Legends. One of their best albums in years. 10/10 would rock to this again. 4. Ghost - Prequelle It's a 10 track album with an overdone 'spooky kids singing a nursery rhythm' intro, 2 instrumentals, and some fillers, but Pro Memoria, See The Light, and Dance Macabre were some of my favorite songs of the year. 7/10 5. Otep - Kult 45 Idk, I've been an Otep fan for years, so I almost feel obligated to include it even though it wasn't great lol. It was just one big "fuck Trump" album, which, while nice and necessary, got kind of old halfway through. A non-stop political album was just... boring? 5/10 Honorable mention: Myrkur - Juniper It's been such a slow year that I'm adding a 2 track ep with only one track I care about lol. 5/10 since I only give a shit about half of the ep Not necessarily favorites, but here are some decent albums I enjoyed. https://ripplemusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-nekromant-lives https://topillo.bandcamp.com/album/chapter-ii https://secondshooter.bandcamp.com/album/second-shooter https://ironkitten.bandcamp.com/album/passion-and-vanity https://femme.bandcamp.com/album/love-evolution https://ulteriumrecords.bandcamp.com/album/inner-strength-re-issue https://ripplemusic.bandcamp.com/album/deal-thy-fate

  7. Metal fans are scientifically more loyal to their favorite artists and buy more albums per year than fans of all other genres (excluding possible rock, but rock and metal are always thrown in together) Though certain pop/rap/country acts may sell more per year than metal acts, metal sells more and is streamed more than any other genre. To think that Lana or any singular artist will keep the album industry alive and not the metal community is hilarious. Metal's been keeping the industry alive for the past 30 years. ~blah blah blah something about a shit ton of metal albums requiring full listens because concept albums are a huge part of the genre and I've never known a metal fan to not listen to full albums or to just buy singles, where with pop it's normal to only listen to and buy singles.
  8. This was one of my favorite shows I haven't watched it since it ended, but the mushroom and cellos scenes have stuck with me as two of the most beautiful scenes in television history.

  11. It's so much worse than what wikipedia says
  12. I'll definitely check them out! I found a lot of them by asking for recommendations from friends and going through different lists of Bollywood horror movies and picking things that came up multiple times.
  13. Yes!! I've mostly just watched things in the horror / thriller realm. Bees Saal Baad, Raat, Darna Mana Hai, Mahal, Bhoot, Ragini MMS (better than Paranormal Activity imo) 6-5=2, NH 10, and of course the legendary Paanch.
  14. May, Raw, The Wailing, Old Boy, Shutter Island, The Prestige, Audition, Kahaani Can someone else please watch A Serbian Film so I'm not alone in my trauma?
  15. Holidays was good, but VHS... idk, I couldn't really get into it? Everyone I know seems to love it though lol
  16. I've been putting it off for years but I promised myself I'd finish at least one classic sci-fi show this year and haven't done it yet so I guess I'm punishing myself with this impossible task. I watch all the alternative versions to the pilot today. I'm hoping to reach the 3rd or 4th doctor by the end of the year. also considering watching the fan films and reading the books, but do i really want to dedicate the next 60 years of my life to this?
  17. Reviving this thread... Today I just started watching the entire series bc I hate myself. Susan is the only tolerable character so far.

Waggoner Octavia Butler's Patternist series is next on my list. Science Fiction by Scientists: An Anthology of Short Stories (Science and Fiction) by Michael Brotherton
  19. I've been digging horror anthologies this year. XX ABCs of Death Creepshow Black Sabbath / The Three Faces Of Fear Murder Collection. Vol. 1 Campfire Tales Dead Of Night And also a lot of Georges Méliès' films. Not horror by our definition today, but all extremely important for the creation of early horror and special effects/movies in general. Anyone have anthology suggestions? I feel like I've watched everything on Netflix already.
  20. La Morte Vivante is the french lesbian vampire classic we don't deserve
  21. every emo band from 2003-2008 Lana (I haven't felt connected to her music in years and I'm bored of listening to the same stuff over and over again) Madonna (I can't listen to anything past American Life. There are a few newer songs, but meh) 30 Seconds To Mars used to be my fav, but Jared is a horrible piece of shit so I can't listen to them anymore.

  23. ASIB is SO DAMN GOOD I went to buy the soundtrack at B&N after the movie, and a few other people who were in the theater were there buying it too One older couple told me they didn't realize Gaga could sing so well and I suggested Cheek To Cheek and they were shocked over her singing with Tony I'm so damn proud of her
