Ugh listened to Music To Watch Boys To yesterday and I was like "I don't think she ever performed this"... it would be awesome to have it on the setlist

When I first heard it I was suddenly sure that LFL is going to be a great album

I used a website called forward2me to deliver it to my country. The fees are expensive tho, they will charge me 12 pounds to deliver it to Switzerland. They seem to be reliable but idk

Hell yes I managed to buy one to with a shipping company (borderlinx) – so now the CD will cost me 14 € + 20 € borderlinx fee... but it's signed, that's priceless

    How did you do that?

I honestly really do not like her team and Lana to be so exclusive to certain countries. It is just a signed CD, I don't see why it is limited to a single country.

I'm not sure how popular of a sentiment this is, but I really wished/hope Roses Bloom For You gets an official release one day..I would have really loved for it to be on LFL based off the snippet that was on her IG

Also, does anyone think that the first 50 seconds or so of Get Free has a similar melody to Radiohead's "Creep", but it's a bit slowed down? Not a bad thing, but I just felt like there was some similarity and am just wondering if anyone else heard that too? Or if I am just imagining it

    Track-by-track thoughts:
Love and Lust for Life are definitely the most radio friendly. I think Love is great, but I tend to skip it since I've known it for a while. Lust for Life is good, but forgettable imo. I have nothing against it, just have no motivation to listen to it. 13 Beaches is the best song on the album. The focus on the little details makes the song. That muffled recording at the beginning, the radio frequency sound effects throughout the song, it really makes a huge difference. The way the chorus starts so dramatically reminds me of Born to Die. I found the swearing on Cherry (for some reason I always want to call it Peaches?) comical at first in a good way, but now I just really like it without it being funny. The chorus is killer. White Mustang was one of my first favorites on the album, still is. Don't know what to say other than it's so good. Wish it was longer, but not at the expense of it becoming more repetitive. Summer Bummer grew on me, but now I'm finding I'm getting tired of it a lot quicker than the other songs. Not sure why. The opera-sounding background vocals are pretty incredible and add to the eeriness as they grow louder and louder. When Lana sings "Groupie Love" in the song, it's so hypnotizing, and it's even better with A$AP singing with it too at the end. Literally makes me feel high without being high. In My Feelings- can't get into this song that much, not sure why. Coachella - this is probably one of my most listened to out of what was released before the entire album was released. I think it's a cute song, but the quality definitely seems a little subpar compared to the rest of the album. I love it, but I understand the hate. I really like the story the song tells though. God Bless America - The first time I listened to this song, I was a little underwhelmed. The second time, I was listening to it in my car and it just clicked for me. Really, really, really enjoy it now. The way she sings the chorus, paired with the vintage vocal effects, the gunshots, and the melody, just wow. When the World - I like this one. I think it's a good concept for a song. Her singing is beautiful in the chorus, and the prechorus or end of the verses reminds me so much of her older and unreleased stuff. BPBP - Gorgeous. Not much to say. Just a good one. Tomorrow Never Came - This song I probably have the least connection or opinion on. Just haven't really got into it. I'm indifferent. It's pretty good, but forgettable for me, but I still enjoy listening to it. Sean sounds so much like his dad.  Heroin - One of my favorites. The frantic vocals remind me of Noir. Just such a great song. The prechorus ("Life rocked me") is to die for, and then the chorus comes in and somehow makes it even better. Change - Truly one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. The imagery of the lyrics combined with her beautiful singing and the gorgeous piano that somehow fits perfectly with the imagery she's describing in the lyrics. It truly creates an this atmosphere of wind blowing, autumn, and a change coming. It's insanely gorgeous. Get Free - Need more time to work on this but I like it. More frantic vocals that remind me of Noir. Overall album thoughts:
I think 13 Beaches, Cherry, and White Mustang are the best 3 consecutive songs on the album. BPBP and TNC definitely feel like they came from a different time period. This album is very different from anything else I've ever heard, and very different for Lana too even though it's very clearly her style and her sound. There's no way I could've ever predicted a sound like this or even known it could've existed, as weird as that sounds. This album is only continuing to get better and better for me. I wasn't feeling it that much the first listen. I LOVE how she incorporates Lana with Lizzy Grant and her unreleased style. Some of her melodies and the way she sings things here, I never thought I'd ever hear on released material. She keeps her "Lana" style for most of the album, while incorporating her more Lizzy/unreleased style here and there. I think this will be my favorite album of hers. BTD will always have the most sentimental value to me and can't be replaced. It has a special place in my heart. However, this album is the most listenable to me. I love the diversity and just every song is so good. UV and HM are great albums too, but they're often too heavy for me to listen to in full. I feel like I could listen to this album in full and not feel so depressed and worn out from it, I could just fully enjoy it.  I love how much she's matured in what she sings about. I was getting tired of her same repeated song themes. It's really refreshing to see a mature approach to things, and to hear her singing about the world and something larger than her and her relationships. It's hard for me to pick favorite songs, because I love each song for their own reasons, and they're all so good. I think my top 3, if I had to pick, might be 13 Beaches, White Mustang, and Heroin though. If the whole album was similar to those songs though, I think it'd be too dark and depressing like her past albums.

why are so many people suddenly so unsatisfied with the record omfg and talking shit about its lyrics etc

how can you say that lfl doesn't have atmospheric or descriptive lyricism that "paints a picture" when for example cherry has lines like "my rose gardens dream, set on fire by fiends / my celluloid scenes are torn at the seams".

I'm a little less cough judgemental with my opinions, but I wonder the same thing. I wonder why they waste their time on her. I mean, definitely listen to her music, but it's clear that she's moved on to a different frame of mind and aesthetic, and it's fine to prefer one over the other, but if you just plain don't like it... I don't know, I feel like it's a waste of time to wait around expecting blood from a stone. Find another artist inspired by that aesthetic.

I can't fault her for trying new things :/ I'm not saying that y'all are faulting her, because I get what y'all mean and I sorta agree. Maybe she's trying to escape that particular aesthetic (sadness, old men, ect) for the time being and test the waters. I don't think anything that made her special is gone. It's all there. She just chooses how to present it to the world.

It's so cool reading how "Change" was written – if only she would record more songs with this basic/simple instrumentation, I'd love that (especially Coachella would've been better if it stayed as an acoustic track imho).

Pitchfork really is on fire with their articles about Lana (don't know if it was posted yet) – "Is Lana Del Rey the american Morrissey?"

I don't think all of Lana's magic is gone. There are some great lyrics on the new record?

There’s a million things that make me unbelievably happy tonight so let’s name a few
_ not a single HM song on the playlist
_ met amazing new people (Matt from Poland living in Ireland if ya here hmu)
_ one of my favourite concert looks of all timmmmmmmme because of The Hair
_ she looked genuinely so happy to be there
_ I didn’t even noticed the setlist was mostly BTD because I was too focused on how amazing Love acoustic was and how she played UV including PWYC acapela sooo
_ I cried on three songs, Love acoustic it was a fucking experience, SK and Video Games because in front of me there was a gay couple that was passionately kissing and they were both so beautiful and one of them was crying like a baby and it made me think of how much Lana’s slow ass music brings people together and how important she is to everyone that was here and I don’t understand how people can live without Lana Del Rey

And the best Cherry.mp3 on my huge ass cake (two actually)
_ she played Serial Killer. Serial Killer is my absolute favourite song of all time I don’t give a fuck if it sounds bandwagon and cliché. I discovered and started loving Lana through obsessive listenings of this masterpiece and last year when they didn’t played it I was really destroyed but on Sunday I’m truly revived resurrected and all. I mean I cried hysterically and I mean hysterically, Serial Killer played under the soft rain was the highlight of my life
_ my antipsychotics are working. I don’t care we were third row and didn’t met her because none of the people I knew did and because I still saw her and her ravaging beauty.

Probably forgot a lot of things but I’m home alone for a week, @Amadeus and @Lona Delery are incredibly nice it was such a pleasure to meet them, my internship ends in a week, my meds are working and I’m so, so happy, life is still so beautiful

Sorry miss Lana but I'm tired of these short casual festival performances every now and then. You just released a wonderful album that everyone loves and we want a real world tour out of it. Big venues, opening acts, tickets, tour date posters, merch, all that shit.
