I really feel like this is LDR6 hahaha
Like, Paradise was an EP for marketing strategies, to mantain BTD in the top charts for a longer time and help Lana build a solid name after all the media bullshit, but the album has a vision on itself that completely differs from BTD. It tells a complete story, and I feel like Lana said herself somewhere that she felt it was a stand-alone album. Besides, it has 9 songs (if you count Burning Desire), it's barely long enough to be a stand-alone. I'm pretty sure Lana even had more songs around the time (we heard some demos that were taken out, and maybe there's even more that didn't leak) but if she put them on, the EP would have turned into an album and it wouldn't fit with the maketing purpose of the time.
I wrote an analysis about Paradise to a fansite I admin a few years ago, but it's in portuguese, so I think most of you wouldn't understand, that's why I don't share it here (if anyone wants it either way, I can send you )

I think I understand what you feel, even though I feel different, almost opposite things to the "slowness" of the album. It's weird for me because, even though Born to Die was the album that made me fall in love with Lana back in 2012, now that he have its follow-ups, I look back and think that Born to Die is the one which lacked diversity (please, don't throw rocks at me). Like, besides Video Games, Carmen and Million Dollar Man, I feel like all the songs have similar beats. Like, you can seriously put the lyrics of Summertime Sadness, for example, in the instrumental of Dark Paradise and it fits incredibly perfect ('cause it's almost the same instrumental). The same beats all over the album seem like they just took her previous songs and gave them a style that was unique so they could make them similar to fit and build an album (which, let's be honest, is what happened). I say this looking back, but for years Born to Die was the album of my life and I thought Lana could never create something more perfect than that.
But with Ultraviolence I saw her ability to create intense and complex melodies with a variety of instruments, which was really impressive to me. With Honeymoon that was only enabled forward, in my opinion. I feel like the songs in HM are just flawless, it's the album where we can see (and feel) how much she's grown in the past few years, with all the bullshit whe went through with the media and how that didn't change at all her urge to create and express herself throughout her songs. I wish I could express my thoughts better, I'm dying here hahaha. I guess HM will be my favourite album in a few years, the title-track just makes me wanna cry every single time I listen to it, it's so damn sensible and divine.
After all, her albums are just getting better. And that's what makes me desperately for this new one (hope it's really soon, at least the lead single).

UV is my least favourite of Lana's - I mean I still like it, but Honeymoon to be is just so much better - I prefer the orchestral cinematic sound a lot more than the guitars on UV. I just find Honeymoon's songs better and less monotonous.

I completely agree with you and I realized that it was the same story after starting to hear her albums over and over again  . It's just that I noticed a little change in Honeymoon. Like, in the first part of the album, she is telling how her life is now and after the Burnt Norton, she relives her past. So she changed a little the way the story is counted, which means that she noticed that people would like to hear new stories, right? But there is a problem that we can see in a line present in God Knows I Tried, which is the song that I think it most shows her present:

"I've got nothing much to live for ever since I found my fame"

Here, how she will count new stories without new experiences? This takes me to something that you said that I agree the most: she needs to take her time. I secretly even want her to take a really long pause, like 4 years (please guys, don't kill me  ). It hurts to wait, but the fans can get an amazing album and she would be satisfied with the result. Look to Born to Die, I don't know how many years she spent making this album, but the result was really good, right?

She's still young and beautiful (plus rich   ) after all. She can travel, meet new people, write a million songs to inspire and take her to different directions, etc. Honeymoon may be a start of something new, but only if she keeps going in the direction she took. Like I said in others occasions, she needs to choose if she will get out of her comfort zone for the sake of her career and even for her own personal life, or if she will continue to self destruct (I didn't want to use this, but it was what most expressed).

Oh! And I also see her albums like books sometimes.

Am I the only one who doesn't find Titanic weird/creepy/pretentious/etc? I think he's funny. And I think I liked a couple of his songs back when I listened, idk tbh I was too interested in Mars to pay attention to him lmao. He doesn't bother me at all tho

I really liked Born to Die and Paradise, wasn't a fan of Ultraviolence but it grew on me - i just wanted another Born To Die, and the same with Honeymoon, except Honeymoon quickly grew equal favourite to Born to Die - its a masterpiece. I'm sad the era might be ending, especially considering we haven't even heard most of it live. I'd be down for a Honeymoon re-release like BTD the Paradise edition.

yes your wish is her command. just completely to your service. to be physically appealing to you and fit your standards otherwise she wont be good enough. mess.  so tired of these fruits insulting her weight gain and flux. its called womanhood. something you wouldnt know but only judge on the surface. she is beautiful to me, curves and all. i would love to see all of your faces. faces only mothers can love, before you judge her. the pressure she has to stay in confines  such as beauty and music are ridiculous. cant you see? this is what happens when your soulmate is gone. it fuck you up to the core, "i have nothing much to live for ever since i found my fame". she going through things right now. so what. we all do. let her be. give her time. if you dont want to ride it out, go away. she doesnt need " fans" like you.

Tomorrow Honeymoon celebrates its first birthday.
Personally I think it's her second best album despite what other people say.

I'm so emotional when it comes to Honeymoon.. I can't believe that a year passed so fast..

I really don't get how people can say that Honeymoon was rushed - it's clearly the album with the best production! If you wanna know more reasons why Honeymoon is amazing check out @Art Deco 's blog post about it

Here's another HD clip from Montreux, this time the closing song "Off to the races". The guitar is really superb. And Lana's voice too.

Don't know if this clip of Salvatore is already posted but here the recorded quality of her singing voice is perfect (on most YT-videos from this show the sound is unbearable crappy):

    EDIT. This one's even better:

My fantasy concert would be an indoor venue with seats. (Reserved and I would have front row) No pit. A pure "concert" for the music where it is about Lana and the band and her beautiful voice. By that I mean not about Lana the OMG it's Lana Del Rey, YASSS Queen, I am going to cry etc. All the fandom and hero worship stuff. (Of which I am a big part) No sing alongs, or phones. Just an opportunity to hear the music. I am not putting the other stuff down as I am a part of that but seeing her live is actually a very draining experience. Like I said it's just a fantasy. Sigh.

    My ideal concert;

A smaller venue like she used to do, how stunning were the likes of the nouveau casino show?
    Surprise new covers
    New song premiere
Older song she never performed live yet, other than those 3 I don't mind the content of the set list
Her fans controlled themselves and not screamed like banshees so I could hear her properly
Professionally recorded so I could enjoy them over and over again
Oh, and her dressed up like Priscilla again because it was fucking adorable

    My ideal setlist:

    1) Music to Watch Boys to (pitch black, with a spotlight on Blake and they add a guitar intro for him. and then lana finally sings "i like you a lot...")

    2) Born to Die

    3) National Anthem

    4) Freak

    -- transition --

    6) Art Deco

    7) West Coast

    8) Blue Jeans

    9) American

    10) Ride

    11) Honeymoon

    12) Ultraviolence

    13) Shades of Cool

    14) Pretty When You Cry

    15) Young & Beautiful

    16) Video Games

    17) Heart Shaped Box (Nirvana Cover)

    18) Religion

    19) High By the Beach

That would honestly be my dream setlist. ive thought about this wayyyy too much, if you couldnt tell, lmao

Also, I didnt mind the backup dancers if they were there for a few songs, but they were there for the whole show and it didnt work for me. Additionally, NO MORE FESTIVALS. it was a terrible idea. if she did indoor venues again, i would die

the setlist of Montreux is close to perfect. I'd add some mroe Honeymoon songs and Salvatore in full, thats it.

I guess Lana's acapella version of "Salvatore" at the Montreux Jazz Festival this year would be my favorite Lana live moment ever.
