If I were to describe California i'd have to say it's very sadcore whore w a tender core, nd what's not to love about it

Wow I love this record so much! She released it at the perfect time. It’s an out of the world experience to listen to tracks like California, Venice Bitch, Love song and Fuck it I love you now that summer’s fading away here in Rome.
Yesterday I got to listen to California while it was raining outside. It felt like the apocalypse was coming to destroy everything. It created such a magic atmosphere.
 
Now I’m on my way to work and listening again while it rains outside.. so calm and just beautiful.
 
Those I mentioned above are my favorite off the record, but I love Bartender so much too.
 
I’m glad she’s back at making good passionate music again. I was kind of worried after she put out lust for life

She thought she couldn't write again after BTD, then Dan Auerbach inspired her to do UV, and then she did Honeymoon so soon after.
 
She wasn't writing after LFL, then Jack Antonoff inspired her to do NFR, and then she will do this so soon after.
 
I want another Honeymoon so fricking badly. 

This album is so good I still have no words even after multiple listens... I'm close to putting it above Honeymoon

There is so much hate for the percussion on How to Disappear.  I haven't seen anyone mention this yet - so let me share some music history perspective on the "jingle bells" that might help you all have less of a problem with them. 
 
First of all, they are called "sleigh bells" by musicians, and they were a big trademark of Brian Wilson's mid-60s Beach Boys productions.  He used them the way other producers would use tambourines, and they always added a distinctive sparkle to the Beach Boys.  You can hear them most famously on God Only Knows from Pet Sounds.  So over the last 50 years when another artist uses sleigh bells (outside of a Christmas song) it's 9 times out of 10 in an effort to reference/pay tribute to Brian Wilson/Pet Sounds.  Being that Lana is always finding new ways to reference California, Laurel Canyon, the 60s, Beach Boys this makes perfect sense. 

Venice Bitch will always be that song, I can’t believe we’ve had it for a year and it STILL sounds so fucking fresh

california is so breathtaking, like i'm sorry but yall realize LANA DEL REY released a song called CALIFORNIA and gave us a timeless, heartbreaking desperate-love love ballad touching every note of classic rock, invoking the state's evergreen tropes and nostalgia to then lace it through the entire piece……… or………………….. lana del rey, norman fucking rockwell! (2019), "california". a reference to be distantly admired for the rest of time.
