  1. I love the way she sings "I wouldn't know what hot fire was"
  2. Good Day sounded so familiar and now I think it's inspired by Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky
  3. Wildflower Wildfire is definitely in my top 10, and I think it'll climb higher. My chest hurts and I'm nearly crying because of the way it's compressing into me.
  4. I'd been obsessive-listening to West Coast for 2 weeks, and Wildflower + Text Book have been the only songs to break that up
  5. i know nothing about it, or them, but i feel this could be up there with one of her best features
  6. Lately as in 2017-early 2021 yes, but from these 3 recent songs, piano is almost the last thing I remember because her lyrics have upgraded, and there's no more bland jack production. I could listen to her voice with piano for an eternity if it is like Old Money, Million Dollar Man (piano version), Bel Air & Is This Happiness, and not only because there was also strings and more, but because the piano was rich, touching, like a fantasy, and actually made me feel things. If I had the piano stems for those songs, I'd listen to them over and over, but definitely wouldn't bother for anything post-2016. In LFL, NFR and COTCC, the piano comes off as lacklustre. Orchestral and Psychedelic are definitely my favourite styles for Lana too, but I just wish they'd get the right atmosphere with her recent piano ballads, like they used to, and then I'd never even think about it lacking anything!
  7. 'at peace' is actually the best way to describe what im feeling about the songs too THESE are songs that me in 2013/2014 (aka Lana peak eras) would be hoping for, and so happy to know the future existence of.
  8. I love it! I think too early to decide where it ranks, since I didn't exactly like Blurryface on first listen but it flew to #1 in a few months, and didn't even like Trench that much despite loving it now. (also, I never liked Self Titled much sorry, but Vessel will always be so special to me, even if I might prefer their current style (? not sure yet), just because I heard it first and there's nothing that compares to that style) My favourite on Scaled & Icy is Redecorate (like WOW), but Good Day, The Outside, Never Take It and No Chances are also great on first listen, even better than the 3 that were already out.
  9. I am still so wowed by these and unlike Chemtrails, I canNOT see myself forgetting about them any time soon. I literally have nothing to complain about! What am I to do?
  10. Wait Blue Bannisters reminds me of Florences last 2 albums in the verses
  11. Both the production and the lyrics SLAP. It's amazing really. But for some reason I think lyrics like that should be in a song that's a bit more "epic", and not so fast? That's just my opinion because when I hear a song with such amazing meaning I like to sit back and feel it seep into my soul, but with this production (though SO SO GOOD) I just wanna dance
  12. I thought I might be let down by the production but I really like it! And the lyrics are amazing too, her best since honeymoon. For me, Wildflower has it all, I don't like the way Text Book begins because I'm so tired of having no intro, but I LOVE how it gives me Nancy Sinatra/Amy Winehouse vibes later, as if she was always supposed to make this track. Wildflower Wildfire > Text Book > Blue Bannisters Edit: didn't hear the tiny intro of Text Book when playing the song out loud from my phone!
  13. I'm feeling so close to UV this year, in its upcoming 7th anniversary. I want to celebrate on all the dates of the singles and music video releases (although I already missed West Coast). Shades of Cool - 26th May + first live performance of title track (?) Ultraviolence- 4th June Brooklyn Baby -8th June Album release - 13th June SOC video - 17th June UV video - 30th July I just loved the roll-out of this album so much. I think it was the perfect amount of time between WC and SOC, and then everything happened so fast, just when I needed it.
  14. Ultra Violet

    Melanie Martinez

Im so happy to be able to listen to Brain & Heart without feeling pain/sadness anymore. When After School was released I was in a really confusing tough time and I couldn't stand the way this song made me feel about it. I'm also digging Field Trip again
  15. Ah I think about her outros and intros all the time. Fave Intros: Blue Jeans (music video stringd) Ultraviolence BTD Cola Ride Yes To Heaven (all of them) Burning Desire 13 Beaches Your Girl Outros: High By The Beach Religion West Coast Cinnamon Girl Cola Body Electric COTCC Guns and Roses MAC OTTR TBD Maybe the reason I'm not connecting to the COTCC album is because most of the songs don't have much of an intro.
  16. I forget about The Pretty Reckless too because they are so low-key compared to other bands! But awesome, I love them so much. I also forget about Jesse Jo Stark until she releases random new songs a few times a year.
  17. It could be. I thought it meant a time when she was happy doing nothing. Nowadays perhaps she can still do nothing but it's not satisfying and entertaining as it used to be. It reminded me of how she explains what Video Games is about- when she was just hanging out with her bf, doing nothing/whatever. Stuff like that, when you miss the little things. Like she can still do the little things now, but it meant everything back then and now she has more to worry about, which could be politics included.
  18. It's absolutely my favourite, hands down their best! I love how it sounds sexual and revealing while also dark like it could be a dead body. Sry I just love that.
  19. True, it's usually the 20 year that fans froth over, but right now there seems to be a trend in analysing fashion and music from last decade, and Lana is almost always brought up. It would be the perfect opportunity! Ahaha true. I'm still dying to give her my money for something good though
  20. Wait which are these? I wanna hype myself up for disappointment
  21. Nothing can top Blue Jeans for me. The opening sequence. The closing. The crocodiles. How the white swimsuit looks against the b&w. How flawless lana looks. The pool ripples. I remember Blue Jeans was the 4th song I heard from Lana and it was the only one I didn't like much. Something about her voice. I thought she was trying to sing with an accent lmao. Then I saw the video and it completely changed my mind. And Doin Time is just that bitch
