now how did metacritic see it was the #1 most discussed album among fans and still put it at #164  goes to show critics really shouldn't exist, LET ME ASK THE AUDIENCE 

I'm only a mild fan of OB, but I'm glad the world is finally waking up to Lana's work and giving her the props she deserves. 

I literally cannot name 20 other albums that were released in 2023 let ALONE 20 BETTER albums than OB.

I think what allowed this was Lana pushing into new territory with her lyrics. Something so bold, upfront and even scary could never settle at the level of previous work Jack had done with her. It demanded something deeper and more powerful.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the channels making "Ultraviolence" versions of other Lana songs, and many of them I listen to regularly, but it's like we all forgot Ultraviolence has some songs that aren't rock-based at all and also has other sounds that branch out a lot more. There is so much focus on making a song sound like rock and calling it an Ultraviolence Version, but no one is noticing the soft jazz, the vintage sounds, the piano and the strings as the part that is distinctly Lana. In fact, the album sounding too "classic rock" is exactly what Dan Auerbach said was wrong with the original record before he produced it.
I absolutely get that rock is probably easier for amateur musicians to do on their computers, but yeah, I still kinda see it as making Ultraviolence more shallow than it is. It's such a complex album, I'm always searching for more and never being satisfied!

Happiness Is A Butterfly lyrics have always been too corny for me, and i mean the whole song. There's almost nothing I like about the song except short parts of the instrumental when it builds up. It's one of the only two songs on NFR that I can't understand people liking. And I'm not saying this out of hate, btw, it's just confusion

And not forget that these are not just numbers to tally up and forget about, they are real people that have died and won't be coming back, that have left behind families, or in many cases, actually had their whole families eradicated with them.

I think Lana made some weird decisions with collabs on Lust for Life. I mean, theyre all fine songs in the end, but it all could have been put together better.
I wish Father John Misty could have been on there. He would have managed to make a political song better, and less "only of that specific time".
The Weeknd also could have added way more to the album if he got to use his vocals better, like with an In My Feelings type of song.
And also, I think Groupie Love is really underrated. A$AP is the only collaborating artist on LFL that I don't listen to solo, yet I like his collabs on the album the most.

The oldest Israeli newspaper (Haaretz) published an article yesterday (of course only available in Hebrew) debunking a lot of claims about the Hamas attacks.

-Claims about piles of dead children simply aren't true. There weren't even enough children who were killed to make these claims plausible, as most murdered children were found with their families
-Claim of pregnant woman having fetus cut out of her are also false. Supposed video of it isn't even from Israel
-There was no pregnant hostage taken by Hamas who gave birth in Hamas tunnels. The IDF has no record of a pregnant hostage at all

Molkan was released last Saturday and indeed it turned out that she was neither pregnant nor gave birth. The comments left on the article are certainly pretty revealing about the mindset of Israeli citizens. They pretty much don't care whether things or true or not:
"Don't you have anything to write about? Just to help the Hamas propaganda machine. Is it burning now to write? Your "truths" are up in the air without any proof. Shame and shame on Haaretz newspaper. I have subscribed to the newspaper for decades and am considering canceling the subscription."
"Hundreds of Jewish citizens, men, women and children were slaughtered because of their Jewishness, a shocking war crime in itself. What is the urgency for the newspaper to be accurate in the numbers? Hamas "only" beheaded two children and Hamas tied up and burned "only" boys and not babies, the woman whose stomach was opened was not pregnant "just" an ordinary woman. An article that reeks of free hate. Is this the truth you want to publish? Shame on you!"
