She put on a great show last night! The set felt a little short, and she didn’t play a lot of the songs I thought she would have, and no encore ☹️ Overall a good show though

I loved the ariana cover so damn much.
And I would have liked the Doin Time performance of they let her mic be louder. I liked the extra production too, kinda even more than the original, but again, they really messed up the sound. You can see her at 1:30 just looking pissed

    just an observation

in in 2 facebook music groups composed of mostly straight men into hip hop/rock/alternative and of those who watched the movie liked it very much, albeit they equally found plot holes or the random transition

Imagine a cover of Phil Collins 'In The Air Tonight' on this album.
She could make that song sound hot and seductive and make me cry and scream at the same time.
And the production in that song is not too far from what more I'd expect from her

Ok so I liked the movie but sometimes it felt a little disjointed like it would just cut to an entirely different scene. Like Higschool Sweethearts was just *cut* Highschool Sweethearts *cut* it wasnt really part of the story... who was she singing to? I really like the album though. Some songs still have some growing on me to do but I think it's very good. Class Fight slipped down the list though cause it's just too repetitive, I didnt expect the rest of the chorus to just be "for the throat"

Also is she really just not gonna release fire drill? That song is great, ugh.

Another confusing thing was: I listened to the album first and Strawberry Shortcake sounded like it could be a PE class and I was really excited about that but then it was again kind of just randomly put in there with not much of a connection. There was a locker room and that was it. I think the story could have been more cohesive.

Choreography overall was really great though, loved the Orange Juice look and Detention was cool too. Really liked the nurse choreography in Nurse's Office too.

I know this is so extra but I'd love to see everyone's opinions answering these after seeing the movie and listening to the songs. I love reading people's thoughts, but preferably in a logical format cause I'm a virgo fucking rising :

    Best song:
Highschool Sweethearts and Show & Tell

    Best "music video":
Same, and I think they should be singles, along with maybe Detention ,The Principal or Orange Juice

    Favourite moment/s in the movie:
When the kindergarten teacher was snorting chalk and looked up at the security footage to see Mel and Kelly both levitating in a fight. And also when Angelita killed the science teacher. I'm still on edge about that actress but that was a good moment.

    What you found most surprising:
That I loved The Principal, Lunchbox Friends and Detention.

    Anything you predicted coming true:
That Recess would suck (the video, not the song)and that an extra song would be in the credits (but I think someone had proof of that anyway)

    Any criticisms:
The start of lunchbox friends where Mel was singing at the table of the blonde girls was cringey. It would have been better if she was singing to herself while not paying attention to them, and then looking back at the table of her real friends.
Also that there seemed to be no guys in the picture when Strawberry Shortcake came on. I was expecting something to connect like a guy paying her too much attention or something before the song came on.

Which song you relate to most:
Highschool Sweethearts actually, cause not only am I still with mine, but that song relates to me be extremely picky in friendships too and I just can't handle being in a friendship that isn't real and what I need it to be.

I think her powers and her friends powers in the film was a metaphor for being able to see things clearly, like things happening you in the past that made you aware of hidden motives, what people's insecurities really are and patterns in society that go unnoticed or ignored by most. And then having the self awareness from it.
That would explain her "transformation" at the end of Mad Hatter and then a continuation of the black eyes through K-12

I want to see crybaby grow if she continues with the concept of it. Since we know she has 2 more visual albums planned I feel the 4th one will be the goodbye to crybaby as she essentially just graduated. So from here it’d be college & real life. Here songs in the vein of You Love I & Night Mime could actually be released which is so REFRESHING!

I would like it if WHF would contrast NFR - a really glamorous-horrorish visuals with a very dark production

    Best song: Teacher's Pet

    Best "music video": Orange Juice

Favourite moment/s in the movie: i loooved all the choreo (ex. The Principal, Show & Tell, OJ, Detention) Mel is such a good dancer

What you found most surprising: the budget! every set and every costume was exquisite

Anything you predicted coming true: recess being the worst song oops

Any criticisms: other than the plot bcuz wtf was the plot, some songs had great segues (drama club's transition was great) but others made no sense (high school sweethearts) also my fav song(teachers pet) had a lackluster vid i wanted some choreo!

Which song you relate to most: lunchbox friends
