On a complete random note, listening to Ultraviolence always reminds me that she might never top it. BUT my expectation for this album are high, ULTRA comparison high just from the descriptions of GBA and war(not wrt the whole thing) and summer bummer, it looks like it will vary in sound and give us something new which is something that we haven't really received since ultra. and yeah I know that HONEYMOON was amazing it its own way but the orchestral vibe and lack luster trap beats didnt really do it justice, and it reminded me of a watered down paradise/btd even with stand outs like HM, SAL, GKIT.

it represents everything she was before HM era (or what she was defined by others) very well.
it has the old hollywood glamour and classic love song cliche (e.g. fire and water, wind and sea), hipster persona (e.g. feathers in hair, Lou Reed, Beat Poetry...) and also the very self-reflecting lines like "they judge me like a picture book" and the freedom & old america theme. the "cooler than my boyfriend" is another bonus point for freshening her little lolita in the wood discog before HM.
 
not to mention the duet at the end which is one of the best little detail things she's ever added to her songs.
 
to sum up, it is one of the most "multi-dimensional" songs she's ever released.
 
 
but it's just my small opinion on that coz i love that song so much.    \
music is subjective.

every top 10 list without shades of cool, brooklyn baby, and west coast is invalid.

hi everyone
recently i've lost just about all my friends, and i'm feeling shitter than ever, spending most days in bed crying or asleep, and i just wanted to say thank you to lanaboards as although i haven't posted myself, i enjoy everyday coming on and reading all the posts and the theories, artworks and arguments lol etc. sounds sad i guess but i think now the only reason i'm still here and bother to continue on this planet is for lanas music and lanaboards that comes with that. I'm very excited for her new record, really hope it's worth this wait. I'm not looking for sympathy, i just wanted to say how much this site has actually meant to me.it's now been weeks since anyone has texted, snapchat, facebook etc, and i do feel, i guess a sense of happiness when on this site as there's things to read and stuff and i feel less alone?
