Honestly I'm not even that excited for this album anymore.
 
"Love" was a great way to start the era and I love the message it has, but everything since then hasn't really been my cup of tea. "Lust for Life" was a nice little song but it sounds kind of generic, the chorus is extremely repetitive and basic, and half the lyrics are completely nonsensical. I can't even begin on C-WIMM (can't even bear to type out the title it's so tragic). This is quite possibly the worst song Lana has ever released in her entire discography. The message is nice and all but it seems so white girl on tumblr having a whinge about how shitty the world is but doing nothing to actually make a difference. Some of the lyrics are just utter garbage, "what about all these children, and all their children's children?"   Really Lana?? and "I thought it was hella cool to win 'em over, critics can be so mean sometimes" ???     SO CRINGY. I cannot believe this song is on the album. It's a disgrace! They better at least have fixed certain elements of the production otherwise I will go right ahead and delete it from my iTunes once again.
 
"Summer Bummer" is 100% the worst title she has ever used on a released song, and other tracks like "Groupie Love", "In My Feelings", "Get Free", "Change" and "Heroin" are either boring as hell or sound so out of place from this record. And don't even get me started on the other clunky ass titles that take 5 years to type out...
 
And the best songs we've heard this era, "Best American Record" and "Roses Bloom For You" are nowhere in sight? What the actual hell? #JUSTICEFORBESTAMERICANRECORD #JUSTICEFORROSESBLOOMFORYOU   
 
And ALSO, where is "Yosemite"???? I was hyped to hear this one considering it was more acoustic but nope.... it's scrapped??
 
The only songs I'm excited for at this point are "Cherry" and "White Mustang", which sound good, but I mean, even the latter sounds like it has a repetitive as fuck chorus and a tired old BTD 2.0 production.
 
Hopefully the music will be good. The Stevie Nicks collab is guaranteed to be amazing and hopefully some of the others come through with amazing production and interesting lyrics. I know there's still so much we haven't heard, so it seems a bit premature to be judging the album, but it's hard to be optimistic for an album that so far seems like one big un-cohesive mess with no artistic direction and ugly song titles.

No. I reealy like the Weekend, especially his early releases. LFL is a dud because of the god-awful lyrics.

LFL has some of her worst lyrics. The whole thing is just hollow and meaningless. On top of that, she "borrowed" the title from a famous and old song that belongs to a punk icon. YUK

I think she'll have a deluxe edition this era, regardless of wether or not she hates them. She's clearly made lots of songs for this album and I think she wants to include as much as possible.

Yeah, you're right that if she worked RBFY with the producers who did the rest of the songs on LFL (with the bass, drums & synthesizers all) it wouldn't really sound good since this album has a different sound & production.  
BUT.. if she reworked it for a film or something with etheral instruments like piano & orchestra (like Bel Air or Young & Beautiful or smthing) it might look fine & fitting as a background music for a film scene! (do you remember the scene in Great Gatsby where Y&B starts playing & everything turns so dreamy?). Different kind of songs require a different kind of production.

I never said I'm not excited for LFL. Stop assuming stuff, miss. I am excited for Cherry, Mustang & all those other unheard tracks & I do want her to develope. I just expressed my opinion that I don't like the song cover (there are so many better photoshoots of her) and I don't want Summer Bummer to be a single (because it isn't representative of her as an artist) when there are much better tracks on the album.

But I've heard the snippet & I know where she's taking it. I'd rather have a more elegant song like 'Cherry' as the next single, probably not a collaboration that sounds nothing like Lana.
 
(Of course I want her to grow as an artist but in a more artistic & cinematic way, not pop stuff everyone's doing)

Yeah, me too. I wanna see Lana hit those notes in the pre-chorus she asked Abel to do. There is a solo demo version & maybe one day we'll hear it.

Summer Bummer cover looks like something Charlie XCX or Ariana Grande would do (I mean it's ok to be cheeky but it looks so unaesthetic she could have used an outtake from those magazine photoshoots done by professionals.. she looked so elegant in them Goddamit!)

I think our girl has this era really planned out, but it's not gonna kick off till every song is released. She's had almost 2 years, and I'd find it VERY hard for her or not have filmed a bunch of videos in that time span. I'm just gonna sit back and hope that she doesn't feed this era to the dust.

She's kept us waiting way too long for these singles and so far the output has been kinda bland. Cherry is good, Summer Bummer might be iconic or embarrassing, Love and LFL were forgettable, not to mention kinda cringe. Including coachella after literally saying she wrote and had it produced as a release in real-time is so embarrassing, it has some good parts but it's so unfinished sounding. Let's be real, none of us want to see Lana go political on this record- which is why the tracklist seems so lacklustre right now, at least the second half. At least the music videos this era have been pretty good.

Has anyone made any statistics on how many users were positively surprised, possibly even "omg slayed" or had their "wigs snatched" when we first learned about Summer Bummer being a single yesterday and are now bashing it?
