Lana looks like a 15 year old who just stole her parent's car and wants to post about how badass she is on instagram. This is embarrassing and it would be embarrassing even if she was 15, let alone 35.

All that being said...damn she looks so good. That story is the best she has looked in a long time. Like seriously.

This has such a strong Lizzy Grant vibe to it. But like a Lizzy Grant who is now Lana who is now rich and who is now going insane, or maybe just joking, or just in love with life, or possibly a little bit of everything, and who cares since life is a dream? That's the vibe I'm getting.

Ben: Lana people are talking about a picture of you wearing that mask on twitter, it looks really bad, post something to stop people from speaking about it we cannot afford more negative publicity
    Lana: Ok I got you
Lana: Did you check it Ben, I posted a cool video of me driving and rapping along to Eminem

everyone needs to relax... its not that deep... we've seen her wear a regular mask many times, this culture of expecting celebrities to be perfect & a source of good behavior is always going to leave you disappointed. just enjoy her music & mind your own business.

Been an LB lerker from Reddit but after the video was posted yesterday I had so many thoughts I needed to share!

I think the Grey Gardens vibes is an aesthetic preview! I think the video was intended to be a kitschy/satirical play on that documentary (as opposed to some people saying it seemed weird/sad). Grey Gardens is about two lost cousins of Jackie Kennedy living in poverty (literally hidden in a decaying house surrounded by rich folk of the Hamptons)! She even calls Jack “Little Edie,” a person from the documentary, in one of her captions. I think it could possibly be a hint of the COTCC aesthetic, like focusing on the run-down area or decay around a nice country club (i.e. those who are only able to see the chemtrails over it and will never be invited inside). Which is maybe why she’s referencing Midwestern states like Arkansas in her sound and vibe and saying the record feels very Midwestern. It would be a throwback to her trailer park and “Queen of the Gas Station” kitschy glamor vibes !!!!! WE ARE  *L I V I N G* ~

Also, singing about the people who will never be in the country club but can see the chemtrails over it kind of parallels what she‘s been saying about dying an underdog (cough cough fruitless Grammy noms), or acting the same way as other artists but not being accepted in the same way, etc (her question for the culture ideas)

After watching a couple more times I feel like it was all put together deliberately to give off the vibe it gives off. I didn't get it at first as I expected a normal behind the scenes of the interview type video, which it kind of is but I think it's a separate thing done on purpose. The video seems like a planned acting of  like a kind of weird aloof rich person/celebrity and probably has something to do with the new album.
I never thought much about it before but "Chemtrails Over the Country Club" does give the same feeling as this video, when I read that I imagine some rich conspiracy theorist who has went a little crazy.

*In bath wearing clothes with cats*
"Im never nervous" said in stuttering and repeated way depicting that she is
"Crazy? Me... I would definitely describe myself as normal" Standing in front of screen playing obvious mental patient and doctor
"It's not like I haven't been in a facility for 90 days already, not my story.... can you still see the Diamonds?"
"They say madness swings to genius"

Makes sense to me that her and her brother and sister planned to do it like this as some forshadowing of the style of the album.

Did she just say neeko as in neko? Japanese for cat?
Omg this is the strangest thing ever. She should actually make a youtube channel for videos like this. It would bring back a lot of her creativity.

I feel like Lana has always said dumb shit in interviews before and this one is really no different. But I do hope for her own artistry and sanity that she keeps getting out of LA every so often because I think it can be a place that encourages getting lost in a certain magical way of thinking and going to places like the midwest can ground her a little more so she has a better balance of things.
Also I really hope that Jack and Lana do not get tied to each other too much because I think Jack's main ability is getting artists to be vulnerable and open up a bit more (which is good for things like songwriting) but he has no ability to push back on anything or offer critiques, which long-term results in more mediocre production. I think this is especially true with someone like Lana who is obviously very strong willed (and should be, not saying that's a bad thing). But she needs someone who can bring--to use one of her words--fire to the production and fire to the overall conversation and Jack is not someone I ever see as having that. I think Lana needs someone who doesn't override her and lets her give her full viewpoint on her vision and where she wants to take something, but she needs someone who is going to push her and challenge the exact way that she gets to her vision, if that makes sense. And then she can push and challenge him, and so forth. And Jack is not that person. But I'm willing to be proven wrong if Chemtrails is an amazing artistic evolution or something.
