Divisive Princess

I haven't discussed to my parents about Lana, and I can just about bet that they will be in shock after what I will tell them about me loving her that much etc. She enlightens my day whenever I see her in a photo/listen to one of her songs, it's just the way it is - I stopped listening to rap because of her, no clue why, but it doesn't get to me anymore. She's a delight and I'm glad I'm living in the right time to witness her true beauty, I will for sure tell my children about it, even though it might seem cringeworthy, it's just the way I feel.

Lol I think we're all like this. Some days I love Lana more than my boyfriend and it worries me.

Every single day I think about the fact that I'm stanning the most beautiful and sweetest person ever. I never thought my life would be so influenced from a 30 year old woman, but here we are. My mom always expresses her concern about the fact that everything I say is related to Lana somehow, but that's just it; I have so much shit going on in my life, and it really feels like she's the one thing that never fails to make me happy. I know I did not hesitate to express how bitter I was about the signing today (and don't worry, I still am!), but watching the videos and hearing the things she did for people literally brought tears to my eyes. She is truly an angel and she seems so happy right now which makes me feel overjoyed. I just love her

K so I'm coming back home, I'm strongly apologize bc I'm writing this getting incredibly hammered, basically she arrived 30mins late and stayed 2H LONGER. THIS GURL. SO GENEROUS. ANd she spent like not much time at all w me bc I was extremely stressed and I arrived and gave her the flowers and asked how she was doing and she said I'm excited! and her mascara was on point and I was hypnotised by her tattoos and hearing her laugh made me fucking pass out and she asked me where I was from n I said Paris and she said oooooh and then she asked my name and I had to show that I had written it on my arm bc I can't spell and SHE MISPELLED IT HAHAHA. I don't mind at all it's so cute she wrote Anne-Daphine instead of Anne-Dauphine. n these security fuckers were pressing us as f and so I only had the time to ask her for a kiss and I think she thought she wanted me to get a pic of it and I could only get one pic (but motherfuckers got at least 10...............................) so she took my ipod and took the pic but took it like one millisecond before.... THIS BINCH...... and so many people had so many more stuff, I HATE MYSELF for not bringing my UV and BTD vinyls, at least she got my letter and the drawing from boywonder, I wish I had more time, I wish I had another pic, I wish I didn't freaked out, but, whatever, and then I waited 3h with the lovely @@Degenerate and we saw her go away in her car and she's the sweetest and most beautiful woman on earth, she gave a lil girl who gave her a drawing a vinyl to sign it and said she paid for it

I've gone through every single page of this thread and it seems like every single post from you is negative?? We get it. You don't love the album. But (and no shade because I don't know you personally) it's getting old real fast.

She really should. It's the perfect time since some of the initial buzz for the album has gone down since the leak and because everyone is already sitting perchedt for the video. It would probably be a little more talked about since people are already paying attention to her tomorrow. Let's hope 

Same.... I'm also mixed and I just can't wrap my head around some of it. I can't fathom how a black person can hear a word such as 'ratchet' or 'ghetto' and actually get offended by it. Same goes for Lana wearing the headdress in Ride and all the controversy surrounding that (not even gonna go there tho). There's a difference between someone getting a henna tattoo or whatever tf people find racist these days and someone doing something in genuine poor taste.

I'm sure it's been said already, but i just woke up and have downloaded the album on iTunes and its gapless.

Can someone open a Born to Die (Post-release Thread imaginarily set in 2012 and stuck in that year forever) so we can stop talking about the past album on here please.

Most of us became fans during and because of BTD. I mean, without it we won't be here. Sometimes on the other hand I think Lana stans are way too attached to this album. And quite frankly, while this album is still very enjoyable (maybe not from start from finish), it was always more style than substance.

Mmm but why are these people praising Born to Die and Ultraviolence appearing out of nowhere on Honeymoon's release eve?

This is not a hate post against you or your opinion at all, and I am very satisfied with HM as an album, but I also don't get people who throw crap at BTD all the time and say that just because it's her first official album somehow it's also her worst.
 
I don't get why would someone NOT want her to write about honoring long lost love and a glamorous lifestyle, when that world is so captivating, it just draws you in.

Born To Die was not only an album, it was an experience. What she does now does not compare. But I also understand that it is not supposed to, as making BTD was her main goal in life.
Now, HM is a wonderful album and I sincerely love all songs. But I can't help but feel that BTD is on a whole other level.

I think you need to get older and see how priorities change in life. Being in your teens and early twenties, so many things are different than in the years to come. Perceptions change, goals change, and how people look at you changes. You learn that beauty is not for forever. 
 
You also realise that all you wanted from love, the men you craved for are not good for you. 
I was at that point in my life after I hit my late 20's.
Also something like "death" that didn't exist in your daily vocabulary becomes very real when you see a parent or an old friend die. And when you see yourself getting older.
 
And I think that may be the breaking point between many Lana fans who are extremly young and herself. She is 30. She sees life different than somebody half her age. From now on, that won't change.

YES. Finally someone gets it! Born To Die was amazing and people have to stop acting like it was shit. Its an amazing album. Its on a whole other level. Yes it had beats and yes it was pop. I don't know why people act like something is wrong with liking this album. its my favorite and always will be

So... I get that AKA isn't necessarily her best album, but I hold every song so dear and I don't think anything could ever top it for me personally. As far as UV goes, I've been a fan of Lana since a little before BTD, but I had yet to experience an album like that and feel the way I did for it. I can't even explain it. But HM is fighting for it's spot. The songs are so diverse and emotional and just.. sighhhh. BTD is another thing all together; nothing will ever be more iconic, and I love every single song on it. Don't even get me started on it, tbh. And I love Paradise, too. I like every song (except for Blue Velvet. Sorry bout it) and even though it's not my fave, I still consider it a true gem. I just love everything she does so much
