I agree with you about the song possibly being about him. Just because Dark Paradise deals in terms with death doesn't mean that it can't be about somebody who is still alive. Someone can be alive and still be dead to you. It's unfortunate but that is live. Sometimes things reach a certain point where that person is no longer the person you once knew. They are no longer there. Either you cut them out or they move on or whatever but it's still a loss. Especially with addiction. I've personally been around the recovery block for a good chunk of my own life and you can def see what is going to be whenever someone is so far gone that they cannot change. The song could have been a way for her to work out her grief and feelings about him losing his battle with addiction. Whenever you're in that position sometimes you have to cut ties and if those feelings are strong enough it can be comparable to that of losing someone (death). He was already gone to her even before he finally passed.

Okay so now we know this is about Rob, whom she met when she was 19 (2005ish), living in Jersey, had a big impact on her and passed away. 
 
Rob was a friend of Mikey Martin's who she was rumored to date as well. Did she date both of them?

Also Mikey's from SoCal, so if Rob is too..."it only takes 2 hours to Nevada"

the blog is pretty telling. Chris was married w/kids, but talking to Lizzy and another girl named Sarah online. looks like he ended up meeting Sarah, but never met Lizzy before things dissolved. he also seems to suggest that Lizzy didn't really harbor the same feelings for him that he had for her, and he regarded her as more of a muse than a lover

I love Lana's music, but I don't relate much to any of them honestly. I'm a very boring and calm person, have never done anything wild in my past (except for my attempt to run away from school lol, I failed ofc. I was only 10 or something) and I've never been in love/no one has ever loved me. But I suppose that Dark Paradise is the one that I can relate to the most, especially now that my dad recently passed away. But I still don't like the song a lot, haha.

Yes definitely I agree!
It has a strong triology in the beginning with tracks 3,4,5 for me. I fucking love those tracks so much.
There’s also a triology of r&b and rap inspired music with LFL, SB and GL (I like r&b and rap so I like those tracks as well).
And then a stronger, albeit darker triology with 14,15,16 (dark imagery and/or production).
 
There’s like three or four different parts of the album. I think we’re just not used to something like this from Lana cause she’s always stuck to a theme and a specific concept with each release.
 
But I think there’s something in it for everyone. Someone who doesn’t like the deep, moody songs has the rap and r&b inspired tracks. There’s some fun short sexy songs to counteract the political/folk songs.
 
The is how most artists do albums, they have a little bit variety for everyone. It’s hard to take in for sure, but I’m glad she did something else and wasn’t stuck to one style or production.
 
Overall it’s a good album, I’m just not a fan of country/folk tracks as much as the other tracks but they are still great and are just evidence that she can do any genre justice.

I feel like she’s admitting that she’s only putting out songs like “High by the Beach” & “White Mustang” because she thinks it’ll appeal to the general public, but it never does. Probably for some reason she doesn’t understand, the remix of “Summertime Sadness” was her only smash hit (of course there were VG, BJ, + Y&B but when most people think Lana Del Rey they typically only recall the summertime sadness remix) Even in the Complex interview last year the interviewer said to her “Is it weird that it’s probably your biggest hit?” and she replied with “Really?? You’re gonna say that?? Well, you’re probably right...”
 
But then again, right after she sings the lyric, she beams a huge smile. Because I think she knows that all of that aside, it doesn’t matter that she isn’t an artist that produces “hits” because she doesn’t need them. She’s won all of us without it. She has all of us waiting out for hours in the freezing winter weather all over the world to fill an arena just to see her for 90 minutes. But it’s always so worth it to us, and we do it over and over. & she knows that. She feels the love we give her. And she gives us that love back. At one of the other dates, in the middle of Ride she just kind of stopped and said “Do you all know how much you mean to me?” and just smiled and looked at the crowd for a bit before continuing the song.
 
She knows we love her because of who she is, and she loves us back just as much.

It's really cool that Lana changes her setlist so much on this tour. I'd love to get the one above when she'll be playing Berlin in April but I'm pretty sure there will be some other songs. But I'm fine with whatever songs she'll be peforming (as long as there aren't more tracks from BTD included!).

Yes, but Lana also said (on red carpet MTV EMAs) that she'd love to come back to Poland around the same time, but who knows if she'll come back for an extended tour or if she said so to be polite.

Same, i think this would be a good opportunity for her to live up to the aesthetic that we saw in the album trailer, which could show us the darker side of this era.
