Also, Nocturnes is utter perfection. Standout tracks are Confusion, All For You and Beat Beat.

It is with deep regret that I am going to have to call it a day here in terms of the competition. Unfortunately, we don't have enough interest to make it worthwhile. There have been numerous tech. difficulties and I don't feel that I can deliver given my current circumstances also. It was great fun while it lasted and those who did submit gave us very good entries! Hopefully we can re-start this game some time soon.

I just can't get over how perfect True Romance is. The pictures are just gorgeous + every single song on the album is heavenly. The right single choices, pretty good promotion + a fucking hit collab. Just an awesome and fantastic era.

A real True Romance outtake that was on the album until the very last minute, mastered and everything, with an amazing title that leaves me wondering constantly what it sounds like. Why was it kicked off the tracklist? What made something like "So Far Away" a better candidate?

Hi everyone! So I was thinking of a competition for us to participate in: karaoke.
 
Here's how it would work:
 
1. You'd send me (or whoever runs the contest) an mp3 of yourself singing a song...preferably a Lana song. But there is no limit as to what song to perform as long as it's in English and not screamo/death-metal. It can be either acapella or with a backing track. No Auto-Tune or similar voice modification (obviously )
 
2. At the deadline (to be decided) I'd post links of the mp3s I received. I would not post who sent the links, and I would try to disguise the best I could who sent it; this includes uploading to a different file host, removing mp3 tags, and what other steps I must take to hide their identity.
 
3. Everyone else who did not submit would have the pleasure(?) of listening to the mp3s and PMing me which mp3 they liked the best. After the voting deadline, the winner is revealed. The losers will not be revealed.
 
4. Repeat steps 1-3 who knows how many times. After we get a good hand of winners, maybe 5-6, we will have the finals. The 6 winners of the past weeks will sing another song and send it to me. There will be one final vote, and the winner will be revealed! The prize will be gloating rights.

I don't think the leaks are intentional but I do believe they're not that actively fought against - because of the publicity / promotion angle? I don't know, maybe. Or maybe simply because they're ultimately not that important to them; I really don't know.
 
I mean, this is a professional artist who, during her relatively brief career (in the public eye, I mean), has had around what, 150? 200 leaks? It's not normal and doesn't make any sense to me. If she and her team - and most especially her label, who invested money on her and surely has every interest in getting it back with profit - were that concerned about it, they could have done a lot more to prevent more recent songs from leaking imo - not allowing so many people to have access to / keep the songs, take legal action in order to discourage further leaks, etc. Fool me once, shame on me; fool me twice...
 
How else do we explain that pretty much every other artist of her calibre manages to control this type of thing to a certain extent? How is she always the only apparently defenceless victim in all these leaking sprees?
 
I can't find any other explanation. Either that or she's surrounded by a bunch of utter incompetents.
Or, yeah, she's leaking them herself, grabbing the popcorn and laughing herself silly reading all the ensuing tumblr & twitter meltdowns.
 
EDIT: FYI, this is by no means an apologist take on the leaks. Since this is all speculative, my default position is - I assume they're unwanted & can potentially be harmful to her, so imo it's ethically wrong and irresponsible to leak all this recent stuff.

Yeah! 'I sing the body electric' is a lyric too actually, so maybe this latest one is also a lyric. I dunno, it's just a trend that I noticed about her Twitter. But it's definitely interesting to talk about- at least to me anyway!

Omg I'm done with this lol. Us talking about Heartbreak High isn't going to do ANYTHING! The last time I checked I didn't have access to a song purely by hearing talk about it. I just can't anymore. Some of you all act like we are sharing Charli's sex tape and commenting on how it looks. IT'S A FREAKING UNRELEASED SONG. And it will stay that way unless put on an album, where what we have will become a DEMO because I guarantee it won't be the same version as what we have now. Bye.
